One word: unbelievable. Like many others have already said, you simply cannot miss with this driver. I have never hit driver very accurately or very far. I have tried the Callaway X 460, HiBore XL, a few older model Cobras, the TaylorMade Quad, and most recently, the r7 460....this club blows them all away.

During a round a few weeks ago, I tried out a 9.5* Burner (regular graphite) and a 10.5* model....I must have used it on 10 holes--I hit 9 fairways! The amazing thing is right at contact, I can feel myself missing the sweet spot (in some cases, I hit the ball on the heel!), but it doesn't matter. The ball keeps flying long and straight.

I have one of my own that is on its way right now, and I can't wait to see what it does to my handicap. My friend said that the club will take 5 strokes off of your game. At first, I thought he was crazy, but after that "demo round"...

Wow! I'm wondering when it's all going to fall apart. I got the chance to demo the club at the range and I was amazed at how far and straight I connected with each shot. I hit several straight and long (280) down the middle. I even took a little off my swing due to the fact that I was using a regular shaft.

Needless to say, I made the purchase (Stiff Shaft). Took it out the next day and couldn't hit a bad shot even when I tried. I previously used the HiBore XL. It’s also very long, very forgiving, and an overall great club, however, the consistency of the Burner is frightening. The reviews for this club are right on the mark. Great Buy.

I basically stink with the driver. I am a big guy (6'4" 300 lbs) with long arms (38") bad eyesight (cornea condition) and limited athletic ability.

I developed a good iron shot and have my Rescue and 3-Wood working, but the driver was embarrassing me at times.

I've tried everything over the years; Taylor Made 580, TM R7, Great Big Bertha & BB II, Cobra, Mizuno and even elinated the driver altogether; sometimes I hit it great (280 down the middle), sometimes lousy (parking lot).
Not fun.

So I bought the Burner last Saturday afternoonn. The following morning, 7:30 am, never hit it before EVER, take off the wrapper, 1st tee, 300 yds down the middle! Wow. Then I hit another, and then another. Jaws are dropping. I had my buddy Skycaddie a couple - no joke, 300, 312, 320. I couldn't slice it if I tried.

How about this; took off the wrapper to try my new Burner 3 wood 15 degree as well - from the fairway, 260 yds onto the green putting for eagle. But this happened TWICE.

So this changes everything for me. Big and long club to get used to but uncomplicated and a good value.

Don't ask any questions, don't even demo, just buy it. Enjoy.

Unbelieveable club. I have played Titleist drivers for the last 3 years, swore I'd never even try another. Hit the burner at the range (a friend of mine had.) Just got mine today $200 on e-bay. Played 9 holes missed 1 fairway. Had 3/4 inch of rain today so no roll on tee shots, was still 10 yards in front of my 905r on a dry day!! Forgiveness of this club is ridiculous, sweet spot is about a 3 inch block. So long 905 hello Burner!!!

Excellent club. Currently have taylor made R5 and could not find a club that was better (until now) and have demoed virtually all drivers out there. Then took the Burner to the driving range and consistently hit the 240 yard green with accuracy (with range balls) The 13degree loft gets the ball up high and seems like it will never come down vs. the 10.5 degree R5. Heading to the store tomorrow to buy the Burner. I did not want to put this away at the range, it was so much fun to finally be hitting the ball with some carry and control. Buying this club is a major step since I tend to be cheap and have not seen club that offered noticable improvement over the R5.

Tried the TM Burner HT, what an awesome club, fairway hits improved as well as distance. It's an all round performer. I noticed even off centre strikes went straight and long. This club is so forgiving it's unbelieveable.Just remember with the 13.5 loft this will keep your drives straighter with less spin and combat that terrible slice. For the improver or low handicap golfer this is the club to buy especially for the price. Just think if it's good enough for the Pro's then it's good enough for the club player. You may think it's a high price too pay when your clubs didn't cost that amount but it will improve you off the tee and give you confidence for your round guaranteed.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Burner driver 9.5 Stock shaft, S flex

BEST DRIVER I'VE EVER OWNED, PERIOD. Exceptionally long and very, very forgiving. Even though I'm not a high-ball hitter, the 10.5 deg was too high of a trajectory for me, so I went with the 9.5 degree. PERFECT trajectory! The ball goes high enough for me (with out ballooning) and then the ball flattens out and BORES through the air.

ALL previous drivers I've tried/owned have gone between 250-275 yards. The Burner goes between 275-300 for me (I know my driver yardages as I use a Bushnell laser rangefinder on the couse).

Thought the 50 gram, 3.4 degree torque shaft would not work for me, but just the opposite - I definetly swing the clubhead faster AND hit the ball dead straight. I am glad to report I've said goodbye to 90% of my pull-hooks and weak pushes.

A recent Golf Week article stated that pros are embracing lighter-weight driver shafts.

I believe the Burner, with its 50-gram shaft and deep center of gravity, embraces the new paragigm in driver technolgy (Cobra Speed LD is a great driver as well, but FOR ME, is not as long as the Burner).

Enjoy life, and enjoy the game.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Burner TP

One of many high-MOI drivers I've hit so far. With the more square face and up grade 50gram shaft, this stick is a real jewel to hit. Can cut or draw and it has the easiest distance of all the big boys I've hit so far. A hundred bucks more for the TP version, but worth it if you're a decent player.

Customer Service

Haven't used lately but TM is pretty good although not quite up there with Ping and Calloway.
