WOW! What a golf club! Carried it from the range to the tee and felt & saw an immediate impact and so did my buddies. Longer and straighter than any club I have ever hit. Played 36 holes and out of 28 fairways, hit 23. Definetly not the norm for me. Carried the ball 15-20 yards further (280-310) than normal (250-270). Could hit it to any place on the course I wanted. Has to be the best buy for the money!

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Burner Draw 10.5

I love to read reviews on golf clubs, seems everyone always hits their new driver 10-15 yards further than the old one, not 25-30 yrds only the 10-15. Tell the truth folks. I just purchased the Taylor Made Burner Draw 10.5 Deg Reg/ Flex , it is a killer. I dont hit it any further than my other driver, just more accurate. I also have a Cobra LD M Speed that I hit well, I hit both around 260-265, the Taylor Made is just more accurate near dead center fairway 85% of the time. Nice sound at impact, nice carry and roll, easy to swing. Dont try to overkill it, just smooth and slow. You will be suprised .If you want accuracy then give this stick a try before you buy, you will like it I am sure. You may just get the ever so popular 10-15 yards difference, or less but who cares accuracy is best.

Model Reviewed: Taylormade Burner

I recently took a chance on eBay and bought a Burner 9.5 with the upgrade Aldila NVS shaft in a stiff. I was initially disappointed that it was a carry driver and not a roll driver but I have busted some extremely long drives with it. I have a swing speed of 98 to 100 due to being 58 yrs old and I normally carry max 230 with every other driver I've ever tried. I'm sure I've carried 250 with the Burner not only because of the technology involved but also because you can just flat out swing as hard as you can and this driver goes straight. It doesn't ballon but it also doesn't bore which can leave you at the back of the pack on faster fairways. I tried a guys Cleveland Hibore with the exact same ball I had just hit my Burner and I nailed both of them perfectly with a draw and the Hibore was 22 yards further since it ran a mile and the Burner ran very little. I had tried the Burner with the stock shaft and it was a real floater for me. The shot looks beautiful in flight but some guy who hits an ugly down and dirty drive will still be 30 yds past me. Down and dirty however usually means a lack of direction consistancy and the Burner is near impossible to miss as far as consistancy and accuracy. No duck hooks at all with the Burner where I'd end up with disaster with my Ping G2 with a Fujikura Speeder shaft with the exact same swing. Looking to get a Hibore 8.5 for the courses where I want to bang out a lot of roll and keep my Burner for our tight desert courses where you want to pick a spot and hit it precisely there. Really a fantastic driver you can just rip as hard as you want with great feedback and feel on the solid hits.

I went to Golfsmith on a mission to find a new driver. After hiting 10 with each I selected the Burner becasue I was hitting it straighteranf further than all the others. I have now used it in 2 rounds since I live in south Florida and can golf year round. I am now hiting 12 out of 18 fairways with an average distance of 300 yards vs. 8 out of 18 at 260 with previous driver. I have since bout the 3 wood and am considering the irons as well.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Burner 9.5* Neutral

This club is unreal. I just took it to the range yesterday, and I was bombing drives. I'm 5 foot 7 inches, 130 lbs, and I was hitting the top of the net which is at least 240 yards out. I have to figure it would be landing about 260 on the fly and rolling another 15 to 20 yards. I was worried that the shaft would be too long for me, but it actually gave me more distance than my old Bertha Titanium which had an Aldila Green Shaft in it. I've hit my old driver 300 yards on the course before, but only with a perfect swing, so I can't wait to see what this Burner will do. Now obviously, a lot of new drivers have good distance, but this club was so consistent! I hit it on the middle of the face at least 12 out of 14 swings (I could see the ball marks on the face), and it went straight as all hell! Even had a nice draw with out me even trying to turn my hands over. I would take this club over any R7 model. I've found the R7's have too tall of a face for me, which doesn't look good at address to my eye. The Burner is more shallow, and is really appealing when setting up to the ball. I really like the cool design on the crown too, but I could see it being distracting to some golfers, but it doesn't bother me at all. The ball goes fairly high though, so if you're a better player (Scratch - 5 handicap) who likes a more piercing ball flight, it may be hard for you to keep the ball low. I did hit a few shots from the middle of my stance, and it did bring the ball flight down, but I guess it all depends on how you like your trajectory. You can get a deal on Ebay too. I got mine for $200! Beats Golfsmith's prices anyway. If you don't want to spend anymore than $250 on a driver, I don't think you can make a better choice here. Go test one out and see if it helps your game.

Customer Service

I bought the club new off of Ebay, and it came with a sticker on the shaft put there by Taylor Made with the serial number so I could register it on the Taylor Made website. It's nice to know that TM knows I have the club and will replace it if becomes defective for some reason.

Model Reviewed: TM Burner TP 9.5

I Fluctuate between a 2 and a 4 hcp. Average driving distance based on stats I keep with my Ping G5 is around 285-290. Went to Golf galaxy and tried a few new clubs, including the regular burner and the TP. All the other drivers I tested were the same as the G5 285-290 and a few shots over 300. Regular burner was the same, then I tried the TP, First shot carried 325 and ran out to 340. Every single ball I hit, Like 30 of them, carried over 320. I had one carry 355 and roll out to 370. I almost had a heart attack and accused the guy of tweaking the monitor so I would buy the club. But then he baked away and let me freely hit and club I wanted, so I hit the others and got the same results as before. Then switched back and got the 340 yard shots all down the middle. Needless to say I walked out with that exact club. Too bad it's winter so I have yet to hit it on a range or in play.

Got this club about a month ago and hit it enough times now to properly gauge its performance. Basically it just bombs it high and long- Off the tee, on the fairway or rough. Its not too workable but if youre looking for that, then this is not your club. Grip & shaft really fit the head.

Model Reviewed: TM burner HT

I got the burner a few days ago. i went to a local golf shop to get fitted and since im only 14 yrs old and only a swing speed of about 90 mph and that i originally have a low trajectory the HT was the right one for me. i think everyone should get fitted so they know what works for them. With my Nike NDS driver i could barley get 210 yards now i am consistently 235+ farthest was 260. since its march and theirs snow on the ground i havent been able to use it on the course yet but im looking forward to getting out. the burner is for the double digit handicapper that wants it staight because hard to work the ball with it. all thought the superquad has more workability i didnt like how the ball came off the face and distance was the same as my NDS so i went with the burner Overall great buy

The appeal of the Burner is the added distance it promises - and which it delivers. What I didn't expect was how much better that accuracy is with the Burner. I found this club easier to hit straight than the Callaway X460 I was using. Ball flight is far more consistent and I've started taking the ball down the left side with good power much more often. Far fewer high fades off the tee!! Burner has a better price point than the R7 and this is just a great club for the money. This club is not leaving my bag anytime soon!

I am a golfer off handicap 27 who shoos in the 80's hence the name. HAving been playing serious golf for a year or so i decided to ditch my old Jack Nickalaus EZ up driver.
I tried the Burner along with a Wilson Staff Spine. The TM and Wilson were similar distance until i really went for it when the Taylormade was hiting 25-45 yards further. I very happily payed the £199 asking place and went to the range. Hitting it out of the back!!! From 220-250 yards to 250-280 in an afternoon. What a club TaylorMade have done it again. ***** This will never be kicked out of my bag.
