I've been a PING fan since the days of the "ZING" Drivers and "EYE" Irons. As technology evolved, I deviated a bit and switched to a Callaway Driver and Titleist Irons, then back to PING (a full matching set of G2's). I traded my G2 10-degree Driver for this club. It has that distinct PING sound to it, and it's a real joy to hit. You know when you've hit it flush. I turn a lot of heads at the range. I don't brag about distance (let's say I'm an average hitter with a natural slight fade), I'm just a smooth hitter. I don't work the ball very much (hence the high loft), and I have a 90-95 mph swing. It's mere design inspires confidence. PING decided to do it a little differently this year by incorporating some composite material near the heel of the club instead of just titanium. It adds a bit of weight and for me results in better control. This driver costs a fortune ($465 w/ N.Y. Tax), but if you ever put one in your bag, you won't be disappointed. I'm keeping this baby for a long time.

Customer Service

I hear they're pretty good, but I've never had any problems with my current clubs.

I literally tried them all before choosing the Ping Rapture. I went to demo days and golf shops. I even tried component drivers. I finally got on a monitor and the clear winner for me was the Ping Rapture with a stiff Proto shaft. I have a swing speed of 105-108. The monitor said that I consistently hit the Ping Rapture a little farther and straighter than all others so I spent the money to get one. I thought that I had simply purchased a club that matched my swing well, but then I took it to the range where the performance exceeded my expectations. This driver is very very long. It feels great. The sound is unobtrusive. And it is workable. What else could I ask for. This is only one man's experience, but I recommend it strongly.

Amazing club. It got the one with the Proto shaft and am amazed at the performance. Very forgiving and much longer than any driver I have ever hit. Recently traded in my older R5 and tried the new Cobra Speeder, which looked great but was so loud and scary sounding it had to go. Tried this and loved it. All of my buddies hit it and loved it as well. Expect to see more of them in my group soon.

Man, why all the jabbs at the poor kid that got scammed? I know that i gave it a one of five because that particular Rapture i got was a fake, and angered the living crap out of me. But i was determined to have this club in my bag, and ordered another one. Having the luxury of working at a golf course, i had my mad kool boss order one for me from a RELIABLE source, not EBAY, and still got it discounted to $350. But for those who buy it at $430, it is worth every freaking penny. THIS CLUB IS A BEAST! My drives are about 20 yards further overall, and somehow my slight fade that i used to have has vanished. I dont know if it is the magical powers of the club or something, but when this club is near me, my golf game improves. And yes i am sorry that i disrupted the Rapture's perfect score on this site, but just travel to another site that sells golf clubs, and all you will find are perfect scores.

I bought a NEW Ping Rapture(not a fake off Ebay). 9deg w/Blue Proto in X. No weights, no gimmicks. Just pure straight ball flight and great sound. Have him them all and the Rapture performs with any of them. Like the poster who got scammed on Ebay, shouldn't take it out on the club.

Customer Service

Ping is usually first rate.

I find if somewhat of a 'head scratcher' that the last poster rates this club a 1 when he clearly got taken by on a fake by trying to save some coin on EBAY - sorry you got taken friend - but dont take it out on the legit Ping Raptures out there that are amazing clubs once you find the right specs for your game. I tend to hit a high ball - and still thought about going higher lofted as they all tell us hit the highest loft and most flexible shaft you can play - and still maintain control without ballooning the ball - for me with this club I had to drop down to the 9 degree head - went with the VS Proto shaft - what a great thing to get this shaft at no upcharge - I know the club at $429 is a serious price point - but for those that have checked the shaft alone in the aftermarket is well over $170 - so all in all - if you are not a totally club ho and switch your driver our constantly - then this could be a wise investment - I will be playing this one for many seasons - gives me all the distance I could expect out of my 98 mph swing - and more foregiveness than I probably deserve but I will take it - the only thing - the Hcover is pretty ugly - I put a TourRocket knit over it - why advertise to some thief at the course that you have club in your bag anyway with that big Green cover - get fit, give the club some time for the adjustment period and I bet you will keep this one for a while - and oh yeah, as our friend that got taken on EBAY and then posted a bad review - take heed - and just pay the price for the real deal - and 6 months after you paid for it the sting of the high price will be gone - but the enjoyment it brings to you game will last and last - so I still give it 5 for value - in my mind any club that performs well enough to keep me from jumping from club to club in the short and long run will save me money.

There's a lot of great clubs out there, even the new squares. Ping has done a fantastic job of "inside"techno stuff that you can't see. Not as workable as my Ft3 Tour but about as long and consistent. I love the feel and sound. Better yet, Ping will spec out a square face if you're willing to wait.

Customer Service

Hadn't used in a while, but Ping is usually right up there with the great Callaway CS.

The one club in my bag that can cause me problems is the driver. I think I've solved my problem. I bought the Ping Rapture with 10.5 degree head and Aldila VS Proto regular shaft. This ccombination is amazing. It provides great feel when contacting the ball and I now get long and straight ball trafectory. Today I hit 13 of 14 fairways leaving myself between 90 - 100 yards to go on the par 4's. I attribute a great deal of this feat to the new Aldila Proto shaft. I've known for some time the Aldila shaft best fits my swing parameters, and this new shaft greatly surpasses the Aldila NV 65 series. This driver is going to stay in the bag for a long time!
