I go through drivers like water. Thought this would be in my bag for at least the rest of the season. I can't believe how short off the tee I am with this! I like the looks and feel but I can't give away 20 yards to my standard drive. My ft-3 and XL Hibore are neck and neck in performance and distance leaving the rapture sitting at home collecting dust.

Explosive driver. Low muted sound at impact. Solid feel on contact. Very responsive stock shaft. Long hitting. Highly recommend. Price has gone down so 5 stars for value.

Customer Service

So far Ping has been fantastic. Quick email responses.

Model Reviewed: Rapture Driver 9 degree

I performed extensive research to find a driver that not only looks good at setup but performs very good. I really like my current driver (Titleist 905R) but wanted something that is longer and more forgiving, if possible. A couple magazines had the Ping G10 as a top driver for 2008 so I targeted this driver. After trying five different G10's on a launch monitor I was ready to just buy a new golf glove and head home until I tried the Rapture. My problem with the G10 are the shaft options, or lack thereof. The stock shaft is crap (way too soft), the V2 HL produced too much spin, and the ProLaunch Red was too low. In the end, the 9 degree Rapture with Aldila VS Proto shaft fit me the best. The Rapture is a forgiving club and looks great at address, providing confidence. The sound is somewhat muted and doesn't give great feedback.

I highly recommend to everyone to please find a launch monitor before buying a driver. This truly affects optimization of distance and control of your drives.

Customer Service

Have not had any experience with them yet. I do wish they provided some more shaft options to try out.

This driver is a HUGE step up from my old si3 380, even though it was a very solid club. But i felt that i should get my teenage self out of the 90s and into the new millenium. I bought it straight from the factory through my boss at a golf course, and i must say i am lucky to get free range balls. I hit that thing for hours on end just watching that ball fly. I eventually added about 10-15 yards to my drives, and added ball control which i thought was impossible with my si3. From the first day i saw that beautiful box my handicap dropped from about an 8 to a 4 and i could not be more pleased with my game now. I actually even have colleges sending me scholarship money to play golf next year, and i believe that it is all due to the new driver.

I have had the G2 for a few years and I thought it was unbeatable. I was wrong. The Rapture is a cannon and rock solid at that. I always thought this driver was overpriced, but now I have to say it is worth the additional cost.

Model Reviewed: Ping Rapture 9* stiff aldila VS65

I bought this driver on ebay two weeks ago,and love everything it has to offer. Took it out to the driving range a few times, and played my first 18 holes with it today. Although the weather was pretty bad (rain and windy) the driver didn't seem to be bothered by it. Drives were straight and long. My drives tend to fade or worse slice sometimes, but with the Rapture the balls just wanted to go straight, even not perfect hit balls, stayed on the fairway or maybe just off, just loss of distance and not of location. Distance is great.
The only thing is that the Ping grip gets a little slippery when it gets wet.
It's my first Ping and this baby is here to stay!

Ping Rapture is not for you unless yo like hitting it far and straight. I have a 9 degree w/Aldila NV Proto Blue-By-You stiff shaft. The only thing that took any time at all to get used to is that I usually hit it straight or a small cut, but I draw it with this club. Find the center of the club face and the ball will explode. It is much longer than my R-7 Quad and longer than my Gennex as well. There is a reason I saw it in so many Pro Players bags in Tulsa last year.

Got fitted for a driver with a launch monitor and this 9* Driver with the Aldila VS Proto shaft. I usually average carry distance is about 250 yds, but this driver seems to spring off the face every once in a while. Increased carry distance by about 10 yds with this driver and shaft. I also enjoy the penetrating ball flight instead of my balloonish weak shot. Can't beat the look and feal of Ping Drivers

Ignore the negitive reviews about this driver, those guys probably dont hit anything well. This thing is a bomb. It's very long, feels great and doesnt have the terrible sound of most new drivers. I have a 9 degree w/the Aldila NV Proto ByYou shaft. Forget your 3 wood on tight holes, just pound your Rapture Driver it's very straight to go along w/ the distance. I usually hit it sraight or a slight fade, but can easily draw the ball with this driver.
