Best driver I've ever owned. As long as the others I've tried, but the stock PING shaft agrees with my swing. This one is very accurate. I have a lot of confidence with my driver now.

I always wanted to get a G5 and thought the 10.5 would be my answer. I hit that one quite well, but it had broken. I switched it for a 9* and after one round i knew it sucked. I traded it for a 12* and i have been hitting it quite better. Due to my slow swing speed i only average about 210 in my drive. Although short it is straight down the middle.

Model Reviewed: G5 12* stock Aldila NVS

This driver was disappointing. I bought it with the stock shaft and replaced with an Aldila NVS. Its not very forgiving, and the head feels clunky. Visually its a beauty and well constructed. Bottom line it didnt give me great results. I have the G10 and its solid and explosive.

Model Reviewed: Ping G5 driver - blue pro launch shaft

I have a high club head speed for my age. 105 MPH. I love my TaylorMade Rack irons but I have not had much luck with my drivers and woods because of the club torgue problem due to my high speed swing. I tried a number of 460 drivers and none seem to have the feel I was looking for.

A Buddy handed me his G2 Ping with the Pro Launch shaft - stiff. I had jsut hit my Taylor Made driver 290 yards on the 18th hole but it had the typical spin off the shaft problem. Long and with a slight hook. I hit the G2 slightly off the heel and the ball in flight corrected itself. I gained an additional 20 yards.

The G2 is not available here in Tampa so I purchased the newer G5. I have played with it one time and every drive landed in tha fairway. Long and straight.

I have purchased the G5 3 wood and 5 wood with the same shaft. Both played the same as the G5 driver. I just can not
believe how straight and long these clubs are.

I have tried the Ping irons a variety of models and they seem to have the an over correction for people who hit a fade. But these G5's are out of this world.

I play the tips and most of the time on par 4 (ave. 475 yards) I am hitting 190 - 205 out from the greens. Now I am playing a 9 - pitching wedge onto the greens. I am averaging 310 - 325 plus off the tees with these great clubs.

No torgue problems with any of these. To me its just amazing.

I tried this driver for the first time today, after using a W/S DD6 with 10*, reg shaft. I was ballooning the ball too high and too much spin. With the G5, the ball was straight every time. I normally average around 240-250 yards. With the G5, I average between 260-265 yards, and in the fairway. Great workability, and wonderful forgivness.

well i have a cobra 350 driver that i had been using for a while. i couldnt seem to straiten it out. i hit with the ping and it knocked the ball pin strait. i find that the 460 head is nice to have because you dont have to hit it perfect to get good results.

VERY STRAIGHT. I'm a low ball hitter and was hitting a 400cc Cobra with an NV 65S shaft. I thought I was hitting it well, then I tried the G5 with a prolaunch in it. WOW- what a difference. Head is 460, but it is really appealing at address(doesn't look like a beachball on a broom stick). With the prolaunch, I'm getting a higher trajectory, 15-20 yards more distance and the forgiveness of a 460 head.

being a novice player it was a relief to swing a driver that hit the ball straight. i did have a little less distance than a couple other drivers. but.................

a) hit a drive 290-320 and not be sure where it will end up.
or
b) hit the G5 250-275 and watch it roll down the fairway.

very easy to hit straight and VERY forgiving
