Got mine as a demo from a trade-in.

Very long driver. Currently have the 9* with Prolaunch Blue in stiff flex. Prefer a 9.5 degree, but too bad this doesn't come in that loft.

Impact sound is pure sex. Not as forgiving as I would hope (like the Callaway 454), but a very powerful driver with a hotface.

Love this club ! I have put my wife in the garage and now my driver next to me in bed.I used to struggle to get 220 with any driver, not today. I was getting 260-270 yards no problem. One drive went even further maybe 300.But the best part is they were dead straight.Down the middle and looong.Well long for me anyway.
My playing partners got sick of saying
"great drive".I usually shoot high 90s
not today.I shot 90 and won the day with
42 stableford points.Love this driver.
Love the feel, love the sound it makes and I could not believe how far it went.It was my best driving performance ever(only 2 missed fairways.I never thought I would hit it 270 but I did it easily today and it was my first time using the G5.There was 1 drive I hit and it had wind behind it but it flew so far an older playing partner commented he could not remember a longer drive on that hole.I cannot wait to see how much better I can hit it.
I feel as if I can swing as hard as I like and it will go straight.Thank you ping you have made me love golf again !

Have always been a Cobra Driver 350/440sz user until recently I visited a local golf store and while looking at diffrent drivers, I found a used but in excellent condition Ping G5 Driver. It had been marked down to $69.99, I bought it and have not hit my Cobra since. Great club and an absolute ball pounder. I dont claim to have hit it 15 to 20 yards further as most seem to have said they do, just straighter.

This is a good basic club. I bought mine for $200 just as the G10 came out, worth a try at that price. It wasn't a great honeymoon however, as I found the Aldila NV65 too wild and I put the G5 away in favour of an old R510. Finally I decided to reshaft the G5 with a Grafalloy Blue that I'd pulled from another club and, wow, did that make a difference! No more hooks, perfect trajectory, great carry & roll. So, G5 + premium shaft = great club, competitive with anything out there.

Got this driver about a week ago and have played two rounds with it. We played today and I was driving longer and straiter than I ever have. Improved my swing about three weeks ago and that has helped. The G5 is so good all you have to is meet the ball and it will really go.
I have decided to change my whole bag to Ping over time, this driver has really impressed me.

This feels comfortable and gives you loads of confidence when you are set in the address position and ready bomb away because of the shape. Before you hit your shot you know this will deliver you the distance you want and it is so easy to shape your shots as well. Took about a week to fully get used to and now I refuse to use titleist 909, callaway ft-iq as I know nothing can beat this driver.

NO DRIVER WILL CURE A BAD SWING!!! That being said, with my shaft and loft set on a launch monitor, this one is close. Just as forgiving as any other 460cc clubhead and now with the new PING clubs out, you can get this one for a very decent price. Don't waste your money on a new G10, this driver is the same except different in color. Take the money that you would spend on a $400 driver and go get on a launch monitor and determine what you need, then pick up a nice used G5 in the loft you need and have your fitting professional change the shaft to what the launch monitor says you need. C'mon folks, use the technology and practice and you'll save money in the long run.
