Ping G2
I love my G2. I have had my G2 for about a year and it keeps getting better. I am hitting the ball further and striaghter than ever. We played last week and I four drives over 370. Granted the Kansas weather and dry conditions help me out some. This past Saturday I played again with different friends and continued to outdistance the longest of the three by an average of 70 yards. I believe that the key to my delight is that I got fitted for my driver. I can not stress the importance of getting fit if you want to hit the ball longer and straighter. The launch monitor is a valuable tool get the right shaft in the driver. When I got fit I went to hit a Nike Ignite 460, Cobra SZ 460, and Cleveland Launcher 460. I had no intent to hit the Ping G2. The golf shop pro suggested that I hit the G2 and I am glad that he did. A 10 degree G2 with a Prolaunch 65 Stiff was the right combination for me. Longer and straighter than all of the other drivers that I was interested in. I have continued to look at the new drivers to see the new technology, but I should be hung for touching one as well as I am hitting my G2. Customer Service not used. Ping G2 8.5
What a terrific driver. It sets up so nice. I got this from e-bay for $180 used, and was a little worried about the 8.5 loft. I have been teeing it up and forward and have have great ball flight. It is very forgiving for mis-hits as far as accuracy and distance are concerned. The Pro-Launch stiff shaft is great, and I used to use a nv-65 in my Launcher 460. This driver is much better for my game. I haven't noticed any 300 yard drives yet, but have doubled the amount of fairways I hit since getting this club! The Ping G2 Driver is as good as advertised. I switched to it after I was unhappy with my Titleist 975J. The G2 offers much greater forgiveness without losing much overall distance. I would say that the Titleist was 5-10 yards longer than the G2, but I find it much more effective to play from the fairway. The Grafalloy Blue shaft performs as well as any I've ever used. I would highly recommend giving this club a try. |

This driver is HOT!!! I can't believe that Ping discontinued it and replaced it with the G5, golfers that I have talked to don't like the G5, it may be the difference in lofts. Ping had the hottest driver on the market and blew it IMOP Customer Service Haven't had to use it Similar Products Used: Callaway Big Bertha 454 |

Ping G2 10 Degree
My long driver search is finally over. I've been trying in vain to find a modern driver (460 cc) to replace my aging Ping TISI. I was hesitant to spend $300 on a new driver, so I tried several other used (older model) drivers on Ebay including models from Adams, Callaway, and Ping. I always walked away frustrated and went back to my TISI. After the G5 was introduced, the G2's dropped in price. I bought a G2 with a Harmon Tour Design shaft on Ebay without getting fitted. Big mistake because I couldn't load up the shaft with my 100 MPH swing speed, which caused me to snap hook the ball more often than not. So, I sold that club on Ebay and got fitted by Ping for a 10 degree G2 with a TFC 100 regular flex shaft. Bingo - the folks at Ping told me most amateurs play with shafts that are too stiff and that was certainly true in my case. Since I have had this club, I have hit my two longest drives - 285 and 290 yards in the fairway. My average is much lower (250), but knowing I can reach that distance with a smooth easy swing gives me loads of confidence off the tee. The G2 is also very forgiving. This club will be staying in my bag for a long, long time. Customer Service If you haven't been fitted at the factory, you must give it a try some time. Ping's service is top notch. First: What kind of player am I? Age 39, male, playing for about 20 yrs, 6 ft 3” tall, usually only play 9 holes on a weekly league (14 weeks), but I do play 18 about 5 times/year. Average about 46 (44 now see below) for 9. When it comes to spending lots of money on new clubs I have always had a theory, it should bring me profit or entertainment and I couldn't see a $300 club bringing me that much profit, it should bring me a LOT of entertainment! Before you purchase a new driver, get fitted: This is why this review is different than other reviews, getting fitted made all of the difference. One of the local shops has an outdoor range, and for $15 they let you hit as many clubs and balls (I hit about 200+ balls), and if you purchase the club there they refund the $15. I did this while I was at the top of my game so I was sure I was hitting like I should be. I tested about 30 clubs (this consisted of four heads, with different shafts). I tried Ping Cleveland, Callaway, Cobra. My club head speed averaged 103 mph. I was dead set on the Aldila shaft, because it was ugly, but glad I didn't order on-line. There is a noticeable difference in each, I hit 5 or 6 shots with each club to make sure I had a consistent read on each, I kept going back to the “magic combination”, for me this is G2 Driver, 10 degree, Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue shaft, regular stiffness. The guy who was helping fit me said with my style and club head speed I should be in a stiff shaft, but that one didn't work for me. I am soooooo glad I got fitted. I would have to say this would make or break any club selection. Review: I have found (as other reviewers have) this club to be “forgiving”. If I hit a shot that wasn't a total screw up, it will often stay in the fairway, often to my amazement based on how I hit it. My 9 hole score dropped by 2 strokes. I am getting to places I have never been, on a course I have played for 15 years. Another thing that I noticed. My favorite driving range has some Nike balls balls mixed in with all of the others. I have noticed these tend to go longer and straighter than all others in the bucket. I have now started to use different sleeves of Nike balls until I find the one that works like the ones on the range. Also: I had to go from 2 1/8” tees to 2.75” or 3.25” American? I am not sure if the club is made in the USA (I hope it is), but Ping is an American company. Now if I could just putt.... Customer Service Haven't used |

G2 8.5 Degree Aldila NV 75 Stiff
The club is outstanding! I promise you people don't waste your money on anything else. I got this with the upgraded NV Stiff, because i have a quick swing. I found the 10 degree to high for me, so switched to the 8.5 WoW! boring ball flight i love it! my friend has the TM R7 lovely club also, but not a patch on this beast. Don't bother with the G5 hit that to and not half as good as its forerunner. all i can say is buy it it's the best £150 i have spent on golf in 20 years! Hope this helps. Ping G2 Driver
This review is a little odd, in that I have never hit the G2. I got a comp round this past summer at a local high end course that opened recently. I got paired with MaySeptember co-workers. The younger guy was in blue jeans and no spikes, old department store brand clubs without headcovers, so I made the appropriate prejudgements, and I was right on for a while. He could barely get it airborn, but the couple of times he did hit good shot, it was a great shot. His older buddy had the G2 in his bag, and feeling his friends pain off the tee, he got him to try his G2. The transformation was unlike anything I ever saw. From the first, he outdrove us all and down the middle every time. The rest of his game, while still poor, rose with the renewed confidence hitting a few more good irons than he had been, too. I like the driver I have, but if anything happened to it, I'd sure give the G2 a try. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Taylor 580XD, Ping pisitech(sp?) |

My friend picked one of these up and let me try it during a round; the first drive I hit with it was probably 290 yards and perfectly straight. I bought one the next week. I have been playing golf for a year and using that club I droped my 9-hole score to 47 the very next round after shooting 57 with my old driver. My drives are consistently 20-30 yards farther with a best of 310. With my old driver I struggled to reach 280, and I would say that is now my average. I used to fight a slice but with this driver that is almost a non-issue. Thanks to this driver I am no longer getting frustrated at the onset of holes, simply an amazing product.
