Hit the 10 degree with a YS7 X Graphite Design shaft almost 30 yards longer than my R7. The standard R7 with a closed face causes too many hooks. Best deal on the market... just look at the price and the end results.

Customer Service

Great, spent over an hour in the Vector Launch monitor to select the right combination of launch angle and spin.

iam now on my 3rd g2 driver, all have been 8.5 degree stiff shafts but the first 2 had the nv green shaft fitted. After only 1 round both started to creek from the the hosel(sounded like the head was loose)so on the 3rd club I swapped for same club with stiff prolaunch shaft, what a difference.I originally avoided this shaft thinking it could be too stiff having previously owned a blue stiff in a cleveland launcher, but it is a great combo giving looong drives and more on the fairway. Overall this is a awesome bit of kit at a great price - try it!

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 10* Grafalloy Blue Reg

Ping has produced the best driver to date that I can recall and I've hit them all!!!The most important thing with this stick is to match the proper shaft to your game. With the exception of the stock shaft, Ping offers the Grafalloy Blue Pro lauch or the Aldila NV. Get on a launch monitor to determine the right one. This driver is at LEAST 15 yds deeper than anything I've hit to date 'nough said, go out and demo one!!!

Customer Service

I am from Phoenix so I was able to go to the factory and demo one...great bunch of people there.

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 10* w/ Aldila NV-s

This driver is long and hot!! I will first say that I have never owned a Ping club and was not even really looking for a new driver, but made the mistake of hitting this club at golf store with a quality simulator. It felt great. Took it out the first time on Saturday and was hitting it 10-15 yards longer (carry) then my Launcher 400 or Titleist 983K. The sweet spot is huge, but so is the clubhead at 460cc. This is a very solid driver and the match with the Aldila NV is perfect. Very long and solid. Great club for all levels.

This club is magic. It sends my drives about 20 yards farther and much straighter, even on miss-hits. I'm not sure how Ping can offer this club for $299, but at that price it's the best deal going in golf equipment. I bought it about a month ago and had no preconceptions about which driver I'd buy when I made my fitting appointment. I tried all the clubs listed below, and the Cleveland Launcher and Cobra came closest. In the end, the G2 had a more consistent ball flight and a richer, fuller sound on contact. I have the Grafalloy shaft that's half blue and half gray and it makes the shaft look shorter at address, conjuring images of a 7-iron shot. The moon-shape alignment is also a cool idea and a new spin on the two-ball alignment on putters. Everyone else I've let hit this club has found that it goes quite a bit farther than their driver. I haven't been this impressed with a club since I bought my Callaway Big Bertha, TaylorMade 200 steel 3-wood and Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5. Golf equipment is the best anecdotal business because people don't talk about stuff, unless it workds. But don't take my word for it. Get on a launch monitor, then try this club.

Model Reviewed: G2 stock x-stiff 8.5

this baby is sweet and very long very solid. was having a hard time deciding what shaft to go with. cs @ ping made my decision easy. was concerned the x flex could be to much. shot pattern has improved a ton. no longer going left or blocking right. more straight down the middle. the r&d that went into stock shaft was enough for me to go with it. seems that callaway gave the stock shaft system a bad name.......

VERY long and consistent. Launcher and r7 Quad beware! A real value at $299., considering it bests the Taylor Made r7 Quad I have been demoing to replace my Ping SI3 380. Latest price for the TM r7: $499. In my wallet: $200. This is a beautiful club without the usual Ping quirks. A traditional hozel connects the shaft to the head, unlike recent editions of Ping drivers. More forgiveness and distance than the SI3 380 too. My driver club head speed is 105 mph, and the 8.5 degree with Aldila NV S flex works perfectly ... adding 25 yards to my prior SI3 configuration with more accuracy and the reassurance that I can swing big without penalty. I tried the TM r7 Quad and Cleveland Launcher 400 and consistently drive 10-15 yards further than either one of these. Personally I admire the technology in the r7, but lead tape does it for me and I can buy a lot of it for the $200. difference. The Ping is better looking than either ... particularly at address. My only complaint is the headcover ... hard to put on and too short to protect the shaft. One note of caution before investing in any driver costing hundreds of dollars: test these first in a simulator if you have to, but certainly on the driving range, and if possible, on the course. My first experience was with a "mis-fit" Ping G2 that looked great in the Golf Galaxy simulator but left me wanting on the course. This configuration, 10 degrees and a Grafaloy ProLaunch Blue R flex was actually less long on the course than my previous driver. I spent some time at Golfsmith hitting a number of drivers and wound up with the G2 configuration I rave about. It cost me $110. to trade in my 1 week old G2 for a new G2. Lesson learned! I also learned that not all simulators are the same.

Unequaled.

I had been playing with the same driver for a few years, the Taylor Made Ti2. I was looking for some more loft to my drives and of course some distance. After trying out the Taylor Made Quad7 and the 580XD, I decided to try the Ping G2. What a difference. My drives were usually straight, but quite low. This driver not only launches the ball high, but Looong. I've added a good 20 yards to my drives and I'm still driving straight down the middle. The sound is delighful as well, as everyone playing with me immediately looks up when contact occurs. Picking up a 9 or an 8 on my second shot instead of a 7 or a 6 is definitely helping my game. And instead of paying the top price, $299 is a great deal!

This is the best driver on the market by a mile in my opinion. I have owned nearly every driver out there, but i believe i have finally found the big dog for me. It is sooooo long off the tee it makes the rest of the game that much easier. I tried the adila shaft but found it a touch to soft for me so went for the Pro Launch blue shaft in stiff and 8.5 deg of loft. Don't be scared to try out the lower loft options with this driver and it sends the ball on a high flight. It is extremeley forgiving aswell as being long. I would say i have gained around 15-20 yards with this club. Truly a work of art to look down on aswell, i can't praise Ping enough, just sort out the G2 fairway woods so they are as good now Ping :-)
