The best driver I've ever hit - bar none. Very long - very accurate - super easy to hit. I won't be changing anytime soon. I've hit virtually every driver that's available. This Mizuno is exceptional.
The guy that rated this driver as a 1 is a goofball.

This is one great driver. Exceptionally long. Stock shaft excellent. My drives are routinely 20-30 yards longer than my previos ones using TM R5 or KZG Gemini. Dispersion reasonable. Great feel, slightly muted but very acceptable sound. Best driver to date that I've owned.

I just purchased the MX-500 driver with a 10.5 degree loft. I didn't have a chance to go to the range before I played a round. At the 1st tee I came a little off plane and sliced a little, but at the 3rd I took a few extra practice swings and swung. The ball went about 10 yards farther than normal, but that was not what amazed me it went straight down the fairway with a little fade.

Customer Service

The customer service was great. I
e-mailed Mizuno to find a authorized Mizuno dealer and fitter and I got a reply within 15 minutes.

Whilst I can't believe what White13962-the last reviewer had to say about this club.I've had a great experience. I'm hitting it 20-30 yards farther and very straight. I alxo like the looks of the club.

Brought this driver approx 1 month ago with standard Exsar shaft in stiff flex. Bad mistake. I find this driver very difficult to control. Frequently produces wild slices and distance suffers as a result. My previous driver was a TM R7 quad. Selling this driver was a mistake. Whilst the TM is not the longest driver available it is certainly the easiest to control. Whilst I love the head shape of the Mizuno I feel that the standard shaft is inadequate. My swing speed varies between 107mph-112mph and the standard shaft feels totally wrong for me. I have ordered a Proforce V2 shaft to be installed into the driver in the next few days. If this does not straighten out the driver then I will sell or destroy the club and replace with a new TM R425.

Model Reviewed: MX-500, Aldila 65g Stiff

Just started playing this driver after I tried it at a local demo day. When I pick a target and put a good swing on it, it goes right where I want it to. I have never had a more acurate driver. I have always been a good driver and this is going to make me even better. My last driver was a 10.5 loft and the Mizuno is a 9.5, so distance is improved and I just love the trajectory. I have the Aldila stiff shaft and my best swings are in the 98 mph range. The ball flies high, yet not too high and fades just a bit at the end, so control is awesome. My mis hits have left me in better shape than in the past. It is still early in our golf season, so I am really excited about how the driver will perform once the fairways are firm and fast. Tee hieght is important, tee it low and it fades a little too much. Tee it high and bomb it over trees, or tee it in the middle for perfect length. I paid 220 on E-bay. I do think all Drivers are overpriced and that clubs in general should be much cheaper.

Model Reviewed: MX-500 9.5* Exsar 50 Stiff

I need a driver with square face to replace my Titleist 975 JVS which give me consistant 260 - 280 yards for years. Very impress with MP 001 16.5* a very solid club so I decided to try MX500 since the price tag is also cheaper than others here in Manila. - First, the club face which seems to be perfectly square, actually a little bit close may be 1.5*. - Not the most forgiving club, not surprised it is a Mizuno. I don't think beginner will like it. Can place the ball where I need more often after I found out that it is a little close face. But not sure if I can manipulate the ball (draw, fade) with it. - The X sole helps to square the club face at address. - Distant seems to be okey but I expect something better. Try both R and S flex R is too soft while S is abit too stiff, no whip at all but getting better after use it for 3 weeks. I gain only a few yards more compare with my old Titleist, despite a huge gap of technology. I guess due to the shaft, the head seems to be deliver good distance. Too bad only Exsar 50 available here in MNL. - Ball flight is lower than my expectation from composite driver. - Feel and sound, not solid and relatvely quiet. Not much different either perfect hit or not solid one, I prefer MP 001 and titleist. It is such a nice club as we can always expect from Mizuno but still short of my expectation.

Customer Service

Can't expect much here in Manila.

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX-500 11.5 Reg. Stock

This is a great driver. I have tried this driver with (2) upgrade shafts offered by Mizuno. The Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3 in regular and the NVS 65 in regular. For me the stock shaft gave me the best feedback, that solid feeling, the most distance and good accuarcy. The upcharge for the two custom shafts was only $30.00 but if the stock shaft works what the heck. Definitely try the stock shaft before you upgrade, the Exsar might surprise you, it sure did me. I have never been a stock shaft player, but with this driver it seems to work. The club sets up absolutely square and the ball explodes off the face without making a shockingly explosive sound. If you like to hear after you hit your drive, this is your baby. Really good golf club.

The first thing to say is that I haven't used this driver on course yet (but I am really looking forward to doing so), so this review is based on 3 lengthy range sessions. The first session was a selection session where I tried the MX500, the Ping G5 and the Cobra F-Speed in various lofts and with varying shafts. The first club I hit was the MX500 at 10.5 deg with with the Aldila NV65 shaft at 'R' flex. My swing speed is 95 mph which put me bang in the middle on the speed range for this shaft. I have a medium/fast tempo. From the word go everything was coming right out of the sweet spot. Even when I deliberately miss-hit the results were still acceptable. Just a push or a pull rather than slice or hook, and no great loss of distance. The top view of the head at address inspires confidence. No loud colours, gimmicks or unusual design to distract you. And even though it's a 460cc head, it didn't look any bigger than my previous driver which was 435cc. A nice satisfying thud when the ball strikes the face. Not a tinny sounding ting or a loud crack that distracts everyone on the range. I really didn't like the crescent shape line up marker on the G5. The F-Speed gives the impression of an elongated head at address. The MX500 gave me a perfect rainbow shape ball fight. The G5 hit too high for my liking whichever setup I used, and I didn't get the consistency out of the F-Speed even though it was fitted with the same Aldila shaft. The clicher though was the consistency the MX500 gave me. I simply did not hit a bad ball with it. I suspect the G5 may be a little longer, but I'll gladly sacrifice 10 yards distance to be on the short stuff. Having settled on the MX500 in the setup described above, I've had two further sessions with it and nothing has diminished my initial enthusiasm. Plenty long enough (ball pitching at 245 -255 yards then rolling). Consistent strikes time after time. Easy workability. In the 3rd session I was hitting draw and fade to order. I have been a custom club user for a number of years but now the OEM's are finally starting to put decent shafts into their heads as standard (instead of $12 throw aways), they deserve consideration again in my book. Finally, it looks like Mizuno are producing drivers to compliment their undoubtedly good irons. Excellent driver which will be in my bag for a long time.
