MX001
I just brought in my MX and MP drivers to have the shafts switched. I have the MP in the 400cc head with a Fujikura Speeder stiff shaft. Really an excellent club. But I was able to pick up the new MX with an ALdila regular shaft. After 2 rounds and numerous balls at the range, I was very satisfied with the club but believe I can be more accurate with a stiffer shaft.Occasionally my fade was turning into a slice. For me the MX was longer then the R7, 905T, Cleveland, Sasquatch. I recently tried these at a demo day in Mesa. My palying partners really liked the appearance of the club. One buddy mentioned I was hitting the ball 20 yards farther. Perhaps!! Customer Service ok |

MIZUNO MX500 DRIVER
I HAVE NEVER TRIED MIZUNO DRIVERS BEFORE. YES THEIR IRONS REPUTATIION IS SECOND TO NONE. I HAVE HAVE MP32 IRONS FOR SOME TIME NOW. SO WHAT THE HELL, I'VE TRIED THE LOT- PING G2, TITLEIST 983K & 983E, CALLAWAY. THIS DRIVER COULD BE THE ONE TO JUST GIVE A BIT MORE ACCURACY AS WELL AS LENGTH. IT DID TAKE SOME PERSUATION TO GO TO MIZUNO. IN THE END I TOOK A TRIP TO CUMBERNAULD FITTING CENTRE IN SCOTLAND WHERE I RECEIVED SOME GREAT ADVICE. I AM NOW PLAYING THE FUJIKURA TOUR PLATFORM STIFF WITH A 9.5 HEAD. DUE TO THE LOWER SPIN RATE OF THE BALL @ IMPACT THE BALL DOES TEND TO GO STRAIGHTER AND LONGER. THE BIG HEAD DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AS NOTICEABLE AS WITH SOME OF THE OTHER LEADING MAKES. A GREAT INVESTMENT AND VERY GOOD PRICE FOR SUCH QUALITY. MIZUNO HAVE GONE THE EXTRA MILE WITH THIS ONE. ENJOY YOUR GOLF!!!!!!! Customer Service IF YOU CAN, GET YOUR SELF TO A FITTING CENTRE FIRST. VERY HELPFUL AND A FEW LITTLE GOODIES MAY COME YOUR WAY Similar Products Used: PING G2 COBRA SS430 TITLEIST 983 K & E |

MX 500 9.5 Aldila 65 shaft
Very nice club. I prefer the muted sound of this driver. Setup is nice and square which is important for confidence. Most 460cc heads on the market appear closed at address. Ball flight is flatter with less spin than any club I ever hit and I hit em' all. Very versatile. I can tee it high and bomb it high and deep or tee it low and hit a nice boring cut shot. Most will have to go to a higher loft then you usually play to achieve the optimum launch angle. Don't buy the stock Mizuno shaft. Aldila makes a much better shaft and the upgrade isn't that much more in cost. Aldila will twist less and keep dispersion tighter. On the launch monitor compared to my Ping G2 this Mizuno spins much less and my overall carry is greater with a tighter dispersion. Mizuno makes the best composite club on the market. The Cleveland Comp is decent but the New Callaway FT3 is a disaster in my opinion. As an established golfer(+1 handicap) with high swing speed I can't keep that FT3 on the planet. Mickelson and company must be playing something way different then the retail version. The MX in comparison gives me the control I am looking for and I don't get that high spinning ballon ball that I used to hit once in awhile. Plus the reduced spin seems to cut down on the draw/hook spin I am looking to eliminate. Taking the left side of the golf course out of play is my goal and this new Mizuno stick should help me achieve that. I'll follow up later after I play in some amateur events with this club. Customer Service Never used but they need more shaft options in their drivers Similar Products Used: Callaway FT3, Callaway Fusion, Cleveland Comp, Ping G2 and G5, Nike Ignite 460, Taylor Made R5 and R7, Titleist 905S |

MX-500 10.5* Exsar 50 Stiff
Cool, I'm the first reviewer. Bought my new driver at Golfsmith after being fitted in their Vector Launch Monitor. I was previously hitting MP-001 11.5* w/ Grafalloy Prolite 4.5 Regular. Now I wanted to have a more boring trajectory and better accuracy w/ a stiff shaft and lower driver loft. Well, I've got what I wanted. Took it on the course for the first time today. Winds were at 10-20 mph on a links style course. Best drive of the day was 263 yds in the fairway according to my SkyGolf GPS. I agree w/ a seller on Ebay who stated that MX-500 is 4-15 yds longer than MP-001. For me I'd say it's 10 yrds longer due to the change in loft and shaft. Still need to work on my tempo on the downswing especially w/ a stiffer shaft. Driver itself is very good looking w/ use of black, blue and silver. X-sole design produces healthy metallic "clang" compared to "pop" of MP-001, and resembles Titleist 983 series. Just don't like that I scuffed the black non-metal part of the sole already. Also wish they named after MP series (game enhancement) rather than MX (game improvement). I've written previous glowing reviews for MP-001 driver. I thought I had the best driver already, but Mizuno continues to move forward w/ improvements. Customer Service Golfsmith: good service w/ free launch monitor fitting.
