Excellent club. Took 2 rounds to get used to but now I am hitting it long and straight. The ball explodes off the face and now I am hitting it consistantly 20-40 yards longer than my previous driver. The accuracy is excellent given the clubs' length. I'm not a big swinger so this club is well suited to my game.

Thanx to all who spent time reviewing the driver here. After months of research, I decided to purchase the 427.. without hitting it at the range, mind u. it gets sometime to know its temperament, but now, I am pretty much in the fairway 75% of the time. am always ahead in driving distance and have become the envy of my regular golfing partners. what is it abt the driver? a few things. at setup, it instills confidence.. the 2 trademark dimples at the back of the clubhead and its size. 2ndly, the custom shaft is extremely friendly with an optimal trajectory, it rolls forever. and its sound at impact.. some hate it.. I just dig it. somehow my 3some get intimidated by it, it helps in the mental gamesmanship. distance wise... it is LOOOOOONG.. but most importantly, it wanna stays in the fairway. correct hits cruises straight down the fairway, far... mis hits can be known instantly by its impact sound... and one can actually see the ball going crazy.. and halfway, the ball corrects itself fading or drawing into the midline again.. its amazing... but theres notable distance loss though. two tips: 1- tee the ball a bit higher 2- swing easy. dont worry, the club will reward u for distance despite the easy swing.. in short.. this stick is gonna be in my bag for a long, long time... the best i have ever tried.. where can one get distance and accuracy in one, with a reasonable price...

Hit it, love it, bought it. As long as I relax and don't try to swing like Tiger I can hit the ball 240-250yds and keep it in or near the fairway with this driver. Most reliable drive I've ever owned. I no longer fear the tee shot on par 4's and 5's.

Bottom line is Deep and Straight. Now hitting a greater percentage of fairways. The key is, a nice easy swing and watch it soar. This club increases confidence on the tee. A joy to hit. Trajectories are a blast to watch. A must try...

This is in responce to the post below.Do you think it is a bit unfair to review a club that is NOT designed for your skill level? That would be like a 100 hdc player reviewing Titliest Blabes and saying they are terrible clubs because they are unforgiving.Plus with your swing speed of 130 mph, what did you expect? The stock shaft is NOT designed for that swing speed."Hello Mcfly".As far as the Taylor Made, the shaft in that over priced club is garbage. You would think that Callaway,Taylor Made and the like would put decent shafts in their drivers for the inflated prices they are charging. At least Cobra put a Pro Force shaft in their drivers. The new SS-380 comes with a stock Graphite Design shaft and still is $100.00 cheaper than the above mentioned.

I don't fit the usual profile for this club. I'm a 2 hcp, and get good results from just about any driver. I used at least 6 drivers in '02, and got good results from all of them. Where, this driver stands out from the crowd is in the area of "ease of use". Good swings will send the ball a long way, and very straight. Mediocre swings will also get good results. This driver is the ultimate in forgiveness, I've yet to be unpleasantly surprised by a shot with this club. I frequently get alot more than I deserve. This fact has really helped me, I grip it and rip and voila a good result nearly every time. BTW, I reshafted the club with a purple ice shaft (by graphite design). I did not like the stock shaft.

I have had this club now almost two months and have played 5 rounds of golf and numerous trips to the range. I think I have been responsible for the sale of at least four of these since I bought it. I'm 5'9" and 170 lbs, and since I've had this club, I am consistantly driving between 260 and 280. Prior to this I was playing the TM 320 and I could hit those distances, but with no consistancy whatsoever. If you are shopping for a driver and you do not try this club, you are an idiot! I was stubborn at first. I had to have the TM 580, so I bought it with the stock shaft and was very disappointed. Then I tryed the Cleveland 400 Launcher, and it was a little better, but nothing that I would rave about. I got on this site and saw this had the highest review numbers and figured their must be something here. Thanks to all those who took the time to share their findings.

Customer Service

Like others I emailed Cobra, and they sent me the new headcover. Much better.

i'm a hardcore taylor made fan, but the king cobra 427 is easily the most forgiving driver i have ever hit. i am routinely drawing the ball, which has always been a goal of mine, and shots which appear to be too high to achieve any kind of distance are still rolling out approx 20 yds past my previous drives. swing too hard, i'll still slice/fade; relax and swing easy, hello fairway!!

I recently switched from the Cobra 350 (great club) to the 427. Everything all of you have written is absolutely true! Thanks for steering me onto this great driver. I also have the 3 and 5 woods and they are just OK in terms of distance, but easy to hit.

Customer Service

Write to them (web site) and they will send you a new head cover. Thanks to those that added the head cover note.
