I'm not going to be like others on here and lie. I am fairly new to golf. I hit in the low 100's and high 90's from time to time. I didn't know how to hit a driver until I bought the perfect club. then I wanted something better. so i bought the cobra 427. I am starting to hit it better as time goes on. I really like this driver and can't wait to get to the next tee. Although I'm not very consistent. But when I hit a good one.. its a little piece of heaven. And the sound is great.. people have offered to buy it, after they heard the sound and looked at the club.

The scene I: At the range, before a round, hitting balls. My friend let me hit his new Cobra 427 SS. A load clang, and the balls just sailed - wow!! I am ready to buy one. Scene II: On the course, playing the round. I am using my old, quiet, understated Cleveland QuadPro w/ Bimatrix. But, on Par fours, I am hitting shorter clubs to every green. Why? The QuadPro is straight and controllable. Remember, there are (4) Par threes, (4) Par fives and (10) Par fours. Conclusion: This Cobra does flat nail a golf ball(which is needed by "Bruce the Beast"), but the size seems to take your mind off of accuracy. There are two things in golf - distance and accuracy. I brought my Cleveland back home and polished it up. And, I can buy a lot of polish for the $300 I saved + the $15 I won!

This is a great club , as i hi handicap golfer your always looking for that club that seems to make the game a little easier . For me this is it . I have been demoing a few clubs the past few weeks and this club has shown the most consistent results of the bunch . The ball jumps off the face and direction is very good as well .If your looking for a new driver an dont mind the oversize club head , give this one a try .

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. This club is the most forgiving I've ever hit. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to hit straight and LONG shots off the tee. On a side note to the reviwer below: For someone who is new to the game, shooting in the low 80's and 90's are we ? When do you leave for "Q" school Tiger Jr.? Is your brother John Daly ??

I went to a local practice facility get fitted for a new driver. As a new player of the game, I wanted to make sure what I bought would be the right fit for me. I normally shoot in the mid 80's to low 90's on my regular course. The fitting process was well worth the time, fun and productive. I tried Cleveland Launchers, King Cobras and MacGregor V-foil drivers of various size heads, shaft stiffnesses and degrees of loft. I ended up with the King Cobra SS427 9* regular. It has made a big improvement in my game. But what really surprised me was when my brother, a 4 index player with a swing speed of 121 MPH tried it. His driver is the King Cobra SS350 8* with an extra stiff shaft. He regularly drives the ball 300 yards. He decided to try my new SS427 and was absolutely amazed (as was I)at the distance and accuracy he was getting out of it...320 to 340 and workable from fade to draw! He was so surprized that a head that big could work the ball, and the distance gain was incredible. He was also surprized that he could hit a regular shaft so easily. We went to Maui last week and played the Bay and the Plantation courses at Kapalua. He had many huge drives, and 3 memorable ones: one of 400, 423 and the famous 18th at Planation of about 431 yards! He now owns my driver! He won't give it back to me. I had to buy a new one. (I should mention that I had a few nice drives too...)Needless to say I bought the SS427 again. I'm not a good enough player to give a credible opinion of this product, but my brother has been playing for 32 years. He has access to ANY product he desires, and is blown away by this driver

Originally purchased the 10.5 version, hit it well but too high especially for the wind in Texas. Traded it for the 9 degree and it has made a huge difference in ball trajectory and distance. Hit the 9 at least 20-40 yard longer and mostly straight. It may just be me, but the 9 degree face does not seem to be as closed as the 10.5. Best driver I have ever played, recommend to players of all levels to improve the all important tee ball.

I recently went to a demo day at a local golfshop and didnt plan on buying anything but started hitting some irons and drivers I saw that cobra had alot of interest so I went there and tried this huge 427 cc driver, I thought I would hate it because of the size. Wow I was wrong this thing hit the ball deep and straight, I had a cleveland launcher 330cc and this thing I thouht was te best but it didnt compare to te King Cobra in my opinion the launcher sounded dead and was not nearly consistant as the cobra. I have played a few rounds with it and many does it hit straight even on a bad swing you still dont get that massive slice. In my opinion try it you will buy it its long and straight. the next best is the taylormade 500 series or the new titlest driver but for 100 bucks less go Cobra either 427 or 380

This club has redefined the game of golf for me. It has made it fun again. On the tee box I am confident that I will hit it well. I am hitting from places I use to only get to in a scamble with friend. Makes long par four fun again when you are using no more than an eight iron on your second shot to the green.

Customer Service

Have not needed it.

Last year i was in love with this driver, it was so much better than anything else ive hit and much straighter. Now its this year and im not as impressed. Its not a bad club at all but i think as ive worked on my game, the closed face that used to fight the slice is fighting me. Additionally since ive gotten my swign speed up a little bit, im finding i can hit a shorter shaft just as far and more accurate. 46 inches is pretty long and while it can give some distance i do now see it being not as consistant. And like everyone else i hate the headcover. i got the newer one that fits but it still likes to slide off to the side and is still ugly in color. Anyways, im not saying the club inst good, but just that as an owner ive found taht as you get a little better it starts working for you less and less, just as some of the lower HDCP players said in the first place. I upgrade my gear pretty often so for me it wasnt an issue buying a new 10 degree GBB II with square face, but if you plan to have a club for a long time, maybe think about how well this club will work for you in the long haul Also i do have to say that having tested a bunch of the newer drivers, nike 400cc, TM 580, GBB II etc, i think there is a new generation of forgiveness over even the cobra belive it or not. For me the ball really explodes off the face of the GBB II and the nike 400cc far faster than the cobra, or at least its the impression i get Summary, great club, but it might not last you golf lifetime. Mines going up for sale on the classifieds
