Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The LAUNCHER Driver was first introduced in November of 2000 to a select group of PGA Tour professionals. Put in play immediately, the LAUNCHER driver started making headlines when Vijay Singh used it to win back-to-back tournaments on the European Tour. Andrew Magee landed in the PGA history books when he made the only ever hole in one on a par four. Other golfers also used the LAUNCHER to win on Tour. The LAUNCHER Driver is rapidly earning a place in golf bags on and off The Tour because of its unprecedented distance and all-around performance.

Boasting a traditional shaped 330cc clubhead, the LAUNCHER features a Titanium body and a thin Beta-Titanium face that precisely meets the legal COR (coefficient of restitution) limit set forth by the USGA. The LAUNCHER Driver was designed to not only meet the needs of pros on The PGA Tour but, more importantly, to bring better distance and enjoyment to your game.

Looks: awesome, like the shiny sole/sides; classic gray paint on top help hide the 330 cc head so that it does not look overly bulbous at address. Feel: nice weight, can feel the club head Forgiveness: forgiveness helped by deep face; 1 degree closed helps, got into a groove hitting them straight after a dozen swings on the driving range. Distance: very long

Pretty much like the guy 2 before me, in my early 40''s with a swing of a little on the plus side of 100. Driving was not one of my favorite shots until I tried my friend''s 360Ti which I eventually bought 2 of. I couldn''t be more satisfied. Two months ago I purchased the Launcher after reading all the hype. Used it immediately on the course, but didn''t stick with the Launcher because I felt it lacked a bit of distance, after being beat. This past week I brought it out together with my 360Ti. The Launcher I felt had a better feel to the head, and can also be swung a little harder without the disastrous effect. Distance, much better than the last outting and straighter. But I still like ''em both.

WOW. I''ve a driver completely out of my bag for the past year, as I had grown totally frustrated constantly playing from the right rough and between trees after my tee shot. The constant verbal drubbing from my regular foursome, however, at constantly being 40-50 yds. behind them off the tee led me look for a new driver. This club is amazing. I hit every fairway except 2 yesterday. I was averaging 225 yds off the tee, all carry, no roll, on soggy fairways. Go get this driver. It will be the best $300 investment you can ever make in your golf game.

I had been using tm320 and was somewhat satisfied although driving probably the weakest part of my game from a consistency standpoint.Tried the Clev.Launcher in 9.5 stiff and reg. I found it to look good @ address and very forgiiving. Slightly hotter clubface and more distance than the tm320 to me. I personally hit the stiff shaft sl. further and straighter.I am in my 40s and swing speed is probably in the mid to upper 90s. This as good a driver as any I have tried.

Model Reviewed: Launcher 330 Driver

Ever since I started playing golf 4 years ago I have been on a quest to find the magic wand. The Launcher is as close as I have found so far. I have played a 975J since they came out and have been very happy with it until I happened on a demo day for Nike and Cleveland. I usually hit my 975J 215 to 220 yards with a slight push to the right. Anyways, I took my 975J, a Nike 350cc, and the Launcher into the similator at Golf Galaxy, and was surprised that the Nike driver and Launcher were 20-30 yards longer. Then I tried the TM 320,TM360 and Callaway C4 too. This is what I found. My 975J was the shortest club. The Nike driver was the longest by about 5 yards over the Launcher and the TMs, but it wasn''t very forgiving. I was all over the place with the Nike driver. The TM''s were very straight and forgiving, but due to the shallow clubhead I hit the occasional pop up (about 1 in 5 were pop ups). The Callaway C4 was very long, and moderately forgiving but to be honest I just didn''t like the look and feel of the C4 as I hit it. The Launcher was by far the best of all worlds. It looks good at address, is consistently long, straight and very forgiving. Even miss hits seemed to stay online pretty well. Only my worst swings produced pushes to the right. I thought the trajectory was good with absolutely no pop ups. I even like the gold shaft (if you don''t, you can always reshaft with the Fujikura Vista Pro 60, which Cleveland assures me is the same shaft, but is dark gray). My only negative comment is that upon impact, the Launcher makes a "clink". Titleist still makes the best sounding drivers on the market. All in all, the Cleveland Launcher is worth a serious look. All drivers tested were 10.5 degrees with stock R flex shafts (except the my 975J which has a Grafalloy Prolite Elite R flex shaft) Good luck on your quest. Hit ''em long and straight.

Model Reviewed: 8.5 & 9.5 Cleveland Lancher

I had the 9.5 degree at first, however the trajectory of the ball was way to high. I decided to trade it in for the 8.5, plus reshafted it with a proforce 65. The results were a lot better with a boring ball flight. If you are looking for a driver that is going to give you confidence at address and plenty of punch, buy the lancher you can''t go wrong.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher Titanium Driver - 9.5 degree

I tried a few of the drivers on the market (Nike, Callaway VFT, Taylor Made, and Titleist) and decided to purchase the Cleveland Launcher. The face of the club is hot and very forgiving and the shaft really seems to fit my swing. Solid hits were great and offcenter drives were not punished very much. I like everything about this driver and would recommend it to anyone. I was willing to pay the money for the more expensive drivers, but after I had a chance to hit them all, the Cleveland was my clear favorite.

I normally hit a driver 220 - 230. A couple of weeks ago down in Phoenix, I was hitting 240 - 260. Amazing difference. Getting quick does result in a nasty hook - smooth swings are required. The ball explodes off the face. Great investment! (Purchase price in Canadian $$)

OK, THIS IS THE TOP HALF OF MY REVIEW BELOW THIS ONE...THE TOP GOT CUT OFF... ----------------------------------------- After 2 months of testing, reading reviews, and obsessing I had my driver search narrowed down to the Taylormade 320 and this. I''''m glad I bought the Launcher; it''''s one hell of a club! I was torn between the 9.5 and the 8.5. The 8.5 is perfect cause it gives a nice mid-high trajectory (it goes a lot higher than you''''d think) that''''ll give plenty of carry (without sacrificing roll) and it won''''t get caught up in the wind. I was also torn between the stiff and extra-stiff but went with the stiff...people always say the Gold shaft is too soft but I think it''''s fine, and I''''m sure that Cleveland and Fujikura know what they''''re doing (they put up a fitting chart on the Cleveland webpage).

also, I talked to the guy at my local golf store and he said that he put the club in the frequency testing machine (or something...) and it actually tested stiffer than a "standard" stiff flex. This club really thrives on a nice smooth swing. I know it''s very tempting to just rip at it but a nice smooth swing does the job just fine. I find this club works really well off the toe; my dad was watching me hit it and he couldn''t even tell that I had hit it off the toe. Great distance, great accuracy, great control, and great forgiveness. GREAT CLUB!!! (also a great price...$375 CANADIAN)
