When you hit this driver on the screws, it never stops. I''ve always been a Callaway lover from the very beginning of the original Big Bertha. But, the VFT cannot touch the Launcher. The C4 is Callaway''s ''attempt'' of trying to break away from the pack again. I''m getting about 10 more yards on the average. Great feedback too. If you miss the sweet spot, it''s pretty average. But the face is so big, it''s hard to miss. I believe the Fuji shaft is what makes this club so great. Give it a try. Hurry, local pro shops are running low on this club. I first started a relationship with Cleveland with a TA3 FF. Then the Launcher woods and now today yes the Driver. Except for the putter which is Odyssey, I have every thing now Cleveland. It is the most underrated golf company ever. So I like it becos the stuff is world class and first and cheaper than other brands. I highly highly recommend this to anyone. Pls dont buy anything else until you try Cleveland. And I have tried them all. Similar Products Used: Titleist 975D, Mizuno TZ, Taylor Made 320 |

This driver is definately not the driver for me. I sliced about every drive i hit on the range and on the course. My swing probably has a lot to do with it, but when i hit my biggest big bertha the ball flew straight. I know the reviews on this club stirs up imaginations of 300 yard drives, it did me in, that''s for sure. But don''t make the same mistake i did, demo these before you make a purchase. Cleveland Launcher 8.5 X-Stiff
I have been using Callaway''s Great Big Bertha for about 8 years now. Arguably the best head Callaway has ever produced, and once I reshafted it with a Grafalloy ProLite I fell in love. Lately I have noticed that some of my playing partners have been playing these "new" drivers and all of a sudden they were hitting it out with me and some were by me. So I decided to look for a new driver. First I went to Callaway trying the VFT Pro and the C4. The VFT''s are long, very long, but very crooked. The C4 is the biggest piece of crap ever stuck to the end of a shaft. Then I went looking to Nike''s newest the 275 and tried the Liquidmetal and the Ping Tisi Tech. All three of which were ok, but nothing great, so I quickly moved on not really caring for the looks of the three. Finally I found what I consider the two best drivers on the Market. The Taylor Made 320 and the Cleveland Launcher. Both clubs had tight dispersion patterns and allowed me to work the ball left to right and right to left.(The cleveland 9.5* has a .5* closed clubface so watch out) However the deciding factor between the two was the sound. The Cleveland had a much better sound to it when hitting the ball. I have been using the Cleveland 8.5 X-Stiff Launcher for three weeks now and I believe I have finally found the best driver on the market. Launcher 9.5 Stiff
I have spent the last 3 months looking for a driver that might take me away from my Great Big Bertha. This would not be an easy task for any driver. My GBB has put me out in the fairway or near 250 yds + consistantly many many times. I tried the Taylor Made 300 series, I liked them but not as consistant as my GBB. The Callaway VFT, this club and I don''t mix for some reason and I found myself trying it over and over. Ping ISTI solid, long but I want to be in the fairway. I just couldn''t get control of it very easily. There are a few others that preformed good but not up to the GBB''s standards until I tried the Cleveland Launcher. I started hitting it in the simulator. It was impressive and felt good. I have hit quite a few range balls and have finally played 3 rounds and I like it a LOT! I have hit over 275yds more than 10 times and almost every drive has been consistant and long with a light to strong draw. What more can you ask for? I have been know to be very consistant off the tee and this club seems like it will carry on the streak. It''s now in my bag hopefully for a long time. (I still have old trusty for back-up) Customer Service Haven''t had to deal with. I did with my Cleveland vas+ irons. they still replaced a cracked graphite shaft 5 years after I bought the clubs. That''s pretty good. Similar Products Used: TM 300''s, Callaway VFT and C4, Ping ISTI, Mizuno the blue one, Titelest 975D and J. |

Launcher 8.5
I spent about 2 hours at the range today and “demo’d “ some of the major new drivers in the market. Let me begin by saying that none of them convinced me to trade in my old Callaway Hawkeye Pro Titanium driver. That being said, I rank the rest as follows (all clubs were either 8.5 or 9.5 degree w/ x-stiff stnd. shaft): Callaway Hawkeye VFT Pro, Cleveland Launcher, Nike 330 cc, Taylor Made 360, Callaway C-4. The VFT was forgiving and long w/ a nice sound. The Launcher is nice. That’s about the only club that would make me drift away from Callaway. It’s got good distance, very forgiving, looks good and sounds good. I like the Nike club more than I thought I would. It gives good distance and forgiveness. The only downside is the sound at impact is a dull thud – sounds weak. The Taylor Made is obviously forgiving considering it’s massive size. I wouldn’t have this in my bag if it were free. The C-4 is a gimmick. Callaway seems to be sampling the market w/ this one. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: callaway vft & c-4, nike 330 cc, taylor made |

This club lives up to its name. Launches hot off the club face and very, very forgiving. I recently turned in my Callaway Hawkeye 9.0(R), which I''ve been hitting really good. Not sure why I turned in the Hawkeye, I''ve been very happy with my drives, hitting them straight (sometimes draw) about 250 yards. I just got a notion to change, and boy what a difference. My old thinking was that there wouldn''t be too much difference between the Hawkeye and anything new out there. Well, I first tried the VFT and true to its reviews, it was a long club, but very unforgiving. Like one review I read, "much like a trampoline, if you don''t jump/hit in the center -- bye, bye." Then I read the lovefest going on with the Launcher and decided to give it a try. It was hard to adjust to the large head at first, but now I really like it. Makes the old Hawkeye look like a 3 wood. I debated over the 9.5 and 8.5 for awhile, but read that the high 9.5 trajectory could be manipulated by adjusting tee height. This is true. So now I have the option to hit a towering shot with the wind or a mid-level shot into the wind. I also debated over the (R) flex shaft. The stock Fujikara is a little more flexible than the stock Callaway (R) flex shaft -- but not much. After getting used to it though, I now love it. It''s always good to hit as flexible a shaft you can get away with. And it doesn''t screw up my swing for my steel shafted irons. Well, I''m hitting straighter more consistently (9 of 10 shots), some with small draw, with more yardage ... at least 20 yards more on the carry. I love the forgiveness, I love the sound, and I love the looks. You gotta have this club in your bag. Customer Service Not applicable. IT IS WELL DESERVED. I ALSO DEMOED THE 9.5 REG.IT WORKS GREAT TOO. GIVE THE LAUNCHER A TRY--ITS A KEEPER! ONE LAST THING, ITS 15-20 YARDS LONGER THAN MY OLD HAWKEYE. 9.5 Launcher / Fuji stock stiff
I have a played a Ping ISI Ti 8.5 with a Harrison lite shaft for the past 2 years. After much debate in my mind, I bought and played the 9.5 Launcher today. I was long with the Ping, but very erratic with it. Well, it is not just a bunch of hype on how great the club performs. I know I miss hit the Launcher about 3 times today and found my self decently long and playable, not OB or in the desert. You definetly will know when you hit in in the screws. The shaft gives great feedback and the head does equally well with the sound, it sounds off loud when it on the button. It is a crack versus a thud from the Taylor Made 300. Don''t get me wrong I like the thud, Taylor has a great club, but I am now addicted to the look, feel, and sound of the Launcher. The 9.5 might hit just a touch high for my liking, but the extra height has given me way better accuracy. Took it straight from the pro shop to the course. After the front 9 and a little getting to know the club, I really started tagging it, 44 Front nine, 38 on the back nine. Took it to the range after the round and just kept crushing it down the middle, again great stock shaft. IMO, you can''t go wrong with either the Laucher or the Taylor Made 300 series drivers. The Pro at our course talked me into the Launcher, basically that was what he sells. I am very glad he did, awesome driver. Customer Service Have not dealt with yet.
