This club doesn't give you 10 more yards (than your current driver) when you really connect with its sweet spot. But it gives you back those 10 lost yards when you don't hit it on the sweet spot. At my level, I don't connect with the sweet spot all the time and neither do most of my friends. When two of my friends bought the 460 Comp and started to consistently outdrive me with their less-than-perfect hits, I had to go and buy one too. Now I'm out there on the fairway with them. I am not that much of a techie-golfer so I bot the stock shaft and it seems to work just fine. I guess if you are a good golfer, you don't need the 460cc giant head. But if you are one of those 80s- or 90s-hitters, this club will help you (1) hit fairways and (2) hit one less club into the greens.

This stick is the longest driver I have ever hit, including the Bang-O-Matic, etc... It really smokes 'em. I did find, however, that the thing was a bit hard to control, unless I recuced power to around 75%. Now that is fine, but who doesn't like to take a big rip at it if looking at a open fairway? Mine is a R flex factory Fuji. In fairness, I think a shaft switch would probably solve the problem, but I am going to wait for the price to drop (as they all do) to try again. If U get the right setup, I think this stick is up there in the top 3-4 drivers out there. For me, for now, the Nike Ignite 401 and the Nickent Trimax are more stable and almost as long.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher Comp 460 NV 65S 10.5*

I just went out to my local Golf Discount and 'test drove' 5 of the top name drivers. For reference purposes, I hit the following drivers/shafts (all were stiff flex): Callaway 454 10* NV Ping G2 8.5* NV Hogan C-S3 9.5* NV Cleveland Comp 460 10.5* stock Titleist 905t 9.5* NV If I would have been purchasing one of the above drivers on the spot, it would have been the Cleveland. The Launcher was scary long...almost surreal watching the ball just go and go and go....and go. It has a high, penetrating ball flight and lots of roll. I was able to work the club either way at will. It is almost impossible to 'mis-hit' this club. I tried. Balls still went 225+ down the middle! The range I was hitting at has 2 trees that (according to the guys who work there) are 290 out. I FADED 3 in a row off one tree ON THE FLY! When I hit a draw or a straight ball, It was going past the tree by an easy 15-20 yards. I'm a pretty big guy and can swing hard, but I didn't need to with this thing. It's almost like cheating. There was a guy hitting balls next to me and when he noticed how far I was hitting it, he asked if he could borrow it for a few swings. He took it and proceeded to hammer about 5 balls over 230 yards. He had a brand spankin' new TM R5 in his bag and said it was going back....he was sold on the Launcher too. If performance is what you're looking for though, go with the Launcher. As soon as I get some money together, it's going in my bag without a doubt! P.S. I have been using a Cleveland Launcher 400 for the past 3 years. It may now seem like I'm pushing Cleveland gear, but trust me, I'm not. I don't have to. Go hit one and you'll probably switch too. :)

Customer Service

I have owned Cleveland TA7 irons, wedges and woods in the past. I've communicated with Cleveland cust support numerous times. They are awesome. I was able to ship my irons to them to be bent upright, and they shipped them back to me 2nd day air. Had them back within 3 days total. Not bad if you ask me.

This club lives up to all the hype. (I found that out today at the range) I'm a lefty with a horrible slice. Well, I guess now I can say that I had a slice. I realized that taking an easy swing at the ball was all I needed to do, --in fact, the results were better if I didn't try to swing for the moon. My jaw dropped at the results, looonng and strait! Me, hitting is straight?? I couldn't believe it. This is a club that makes you want to play more. A club that can instantly shave strokes off my game is worth every penny. Also, I've read a lot off posts/reviews on the internet about the clubs sound. (they say basically that it's not a true sound, but is still ok) Who cares about the sound?? If a club hits long and strait, I wouldn't care if this thing let out a Quack! or a Moooo! every time I hit it! (by the way, the sound is fine, --still letting you know when you hit a great shot) I'm still going to keep my old Taylor Made in the bag for those 90 degree dog leg lefts!

Model Reviewed: Cleveland 460 Comp stiff 9.5 deg

I tend to hit fades and slices with this club, but I am coming from a game improvement driver with a closed face. This face seems to be neutral. I am going to try heel weighting this one a bit (if Arnold Palmer heel weights his driver, I can do it too). The sound is very good, and the length is fine. But, if you are moving up from a 400 cc head, this is a big head to get square at impact. The stock stiff shaft is quite stiff, not like Callaways of old. I have the 9.5 deg. and hit it plenty high, so I would stay away from the 10.5 unless you really need more height.

This is a good driver and has good distance and forgiveness. I switched from the 454 and I this is as long, or longer, with a little more forgiveness. I tend to get a hook with some clubs and this created more of a very slight draw to straight ball flight with my 10.5 in Stiff flex shaft. Good club that I would recommend

Tested all 460CC drivers, but the 460 Comp was more forgiving and longer than the rest. I like the Fujikura Regular shaft because smooth swings are rewarded with 260-300 yard drives. No need to come out of your shoes to hit long soaring drives, just make a nice pass at the ball and let the club drill it deep. Excellent driver.

I have moved up the Cleveland driver line beginning with the 330, then to the 400, the 460 and, finally, to the 460 Comp. Each model has proven even better than the last. The 460 Comp has great feel, great sound and a great traditional look. It is forgiving, yet provides enough feedback to let you know just where on the generous clubface you have struck the ball. Trajectory is medium high and the distance is disturbing to the rest of the members of my regular foursome. Importantly, the dispersion pattern is tight. My typical ball flight is straight with a slight draw with this club but I am sure that you can work the ball some if that is part of your game. I cannot think of a negative thing to say about this club. It really performs!

Customer Service

No problems with any of my Cleveland products so I have not had to test their customer service.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Comp 460 10.5

I purchased a Cleveland Comp 460 with 10.5 degrees loft and a R Graffaloy Pro Launch shaft. My previous driver was a Titleist 983K 9.5 degrees with a S Fujikura stock Speeder shaft. So it's a significant change. The new driver is about 10 yards longer than the Titleist. The extra yards are coming from carry as opposed to roll. The biggest thing is that the driver is very straight and it is more forgiving than the 983K. On off center hits I am getting the ball out there where I can still make a play for the green. This is nice confidence booster. I like the sound and the feel. It is not too loud or piercing, and it has a nice solid feel, that is, not the pinging or hollow feel so many big headed drivers have. I tended to hit the ball left when I first started to play it. However, after just a few weeks it is playing very straight. My overall assessment is that this driver is a very solid, very reliable club. It's definitely a "go to" club that you can pull out of your bag to get the job done.
