I felt obligated to write a reveiw for the Cleveland 460 Comp because frankly it is the best driver I've ever owned. I play a lot of clubs and have opportunities to get any drivers I want playing college golf, but havn't found a driver yet that is more consistant and longer then the Comp. I hit the ball between 300-310 consistantly and even though newer heads and technology are similar in distance, the set up at address and accuracy can't compare. I currently have the Aldila NV 55g X shaft in it, but have hit one with the Graf Blue 65g X and both perform amazing with the Head. I would suggest this driver to anyone that wants to have a solid looking club at address that brings confidence before you pull the trigger.

I've had this club for a couple of years now. I'm not a very good golfer. However, I can hit long on occasion. When I hit this club right, I can get a good 250 - 260 out of it. Most of the people I play with can't out hit me when I hit a good one. I'm 48, so I'm speaking to a bit older crowd. I tried all the current products when this club was new two years ago. It was the best.

Today is 8/01/07, I purchased a Cleveland Comp driver after getting a fitting session at my local golf fitting center. I tried a number of different clubs and shaft combinations. I tried all of the new head technology, including the superquad, burner, d1, d2, rapture, g5, and hi bore xl. Also I tried plenty of shaft combinations including all of the aldilas, the V2, and prolaunch red and blue. I could not believe that at the end of the fitting the club with the best feel, best distance, best spin rate, and best launch angle was the Cleveland Comp with a factory stiff shaft. I was also happy that it was some 250 dollars less than its competition. This is a fantastic golf club and it does not matter that it is somewhat old. Do yourself a favor and try this club out, you will not regret it.

Customer Service

Have yet to deal with Cleveland customer service. I plan to track down a fitting van to have them take another look at the specs of this driver in the future.

Today, 7-24-2007, I went into Dick's Sporting Goods in Las Vegas. I went in with the intentions of getting either the Nike SuMo2, TaylorMade R7 quad or Draw, Cleveland HiBore, Adams Redline Dual or the TaylorMade Burner. I hit everyone of them, and they were all awsome products. The furthest one was the Cleveland Hibore and the straightest was the Taylormade R7 Draw, however the TaylorMade was about 40 yards shorter.(both with reg flex) The sale assocciate wanted me to try one more(the one he owns), it was the Cleveland Launcher Comp. Whoa!!! Not sure what the difference is as far as COR and MOI and all that mumbo jumbo was betweeen the HiBore and the Launcher but the Launcher is exactly true to its name. With the same exact swing, I hit that muthaF!@#@ 40 yards further than the Hibore!! 288 Yards with a 97MPH swing!!!!! That is All go get this thing, it's inexpensive, it performs and IT is KING!!!

Customer Service

I went to Dick Sporting Goods in Las Vegas Nevada off of 95 and Sunset. The guy was awsome, let me hit a few clubs and checked my swing speed and impact angle and all that for free, very helpful.

I've had this driver for a couple of months. Distance is good but about the same as my old TM 300. Trajectory too high for a 9.5*. Stiff shaft not stiff enough (swing speed 115+) and re-shafting isn't really an option with the composite crown. This driver wants to go straight, but that's it, extremely hard to work the ball either way. Decent driver but not great.

I have played with a launcher comp for two seasons and having tried other drivers during that time... this one always finds it's way back in the bag. I currently play a 10.5 degree head with a Graphite Design Purple Ice 75 gram stiff flex shaft and this thing hits high flat bombs all day long. No more experiments with the latest and greatest, the comp beats them all. Pick one up while you still can if you're not all caught up with the MOI craze.

I ordered this club on line 9.5 degree with Fujikura R shaft. I am a lefty and shoot in the mid 80's, with my drives averaging about 230yds with the occasional rare 250 yarder. With this club I hit a consistently 245-250 with one at 280 this past weekend. I can honestly say this club has eliminated my occasional tendency hit a small fade, shots now fly straight or have slight draw. Club feels sweet to hit, shaft at first felt way too soft, but control and feel are excellent. Even mis-hits go straight and will carry out past 200 yds for me. In this age of marketing hype, I feel this is one of those rare deals that actually lives up to the claims. For $108.00, it was a steal.

This was a disappointing purchase.
I thought I might be alone until I saw how many are on sale on eBay and how marked down they are in golf shops.
There is no "ping" to this club, even if you catch it on the screws. It feels kind of dead but it's hard o explain.

These things aren't cheap. I guess I just got sucked into another marketing trick. When are they going to run out of gimmicks? From carbon, to weights, to square heads. Enough already.

I just replaced this with a Titleist 905T (400cc) and this is a way better club.

If you can't hit it straight with this club, you need lessons right away. I can consistently count on this club to put me in a good position from the tee. The lack of an alignment aid on the crown surprises me for a premium club. Also, this is not the longest driver. It has a lot of pop, but TaylorMade's go further. Very light club, with a lot of shaft options available. Get fit by a pro for the best match for your swing. I really like the Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue stiff. One other positive: this is the most compact looking 460 CC driver I've seen. It has a good look at address and doesn't look huge even though the sweetspot and clubface are very big! You can find this club at a very affordable price and was once a top scorer on Golf Digest's Hot List.
