This is a follow-up review. I just ordered my THIRD Launcher Comp. I spend the winters in Myrtle Beach, and I go to Martin's Golf Superstore there; I've hit EVERYTHING - every Cleveland, Callaway, TaylorMade (liked the SuperQuad), Nike, Mizuno, Ping, I'm talking everything.

Whats to say...Have had em all R7 460 TP,Hibore XL,Nike SQ Sumo,Cobra LD F speed...I`ve always went back to this driver..Launcher 460 comp 10.5 with Fujikura Zcom64 Stiff shaft..You can work this driver both ways,Feels like butter on the sweetspot..Not to say the shaft dont help me cause it does..If you have a chance to pick one of these up on Ebay you really might want to give it a try...Very forgiving on mis-hits and cant get any longer off the sweetspot..For me this is the longest Driver I`ve had as far as consistency goes..I`ve personally drove a few par 4`s,short ones obviously...My swing speed is 114mph and can consistently get 280+ on my tee shots..All the "I average 300+ on my drives guys"come on,You belong on the tour. You`d be top 5..Ok enough of that...This driver has a tendency to Draw for me so I play it at the right edge and trust it..But thats also swing type..If you slice,Most drivers are not gonna FIX that..They can help but its the swing that counts.Yrs on here reading finally decided to post,This Driver earned it...Tried the Xl,Its a hook machine for me,The face is too closed at address...Put that on ebay and stuck with the 460comp..The Cobra LD F speed stayed decently straight but shorter that the comp and LOUDER,Wow,what a sound.I do ,However still have The Nike SQ 460 sumo(x-stiff),Its pretty good to me also so kept it around just incase......Cant go wrong with the 460 comp in my opinion,You can find em cheap on ebay.. Launcher 460 Comp
I recently went to my local Golf Galaxy with a fat wallet right after a paycheck with the intention of buying a brand new driver. Going in I removed all biases against companies that I did not historically like as well as those companies that I have come to favor over the years. I dont believe that the sales rep was thrilled with me because I literally took the top tier driver from every major company and asked him to tape them up for me. Some of the drivers I tried included: Callaway Hyper X, Ping G10, Sumo 5900, Taylormade superquad, Taylormade Burner Tour, Cleveland HiBore XLS, Titliest D1 and D2, a bunch of the Cobra drivers. When all the dust settled I found that most of these drivers tended to produce the same exact result for me. I consider myself a good player, currently carry a 2.1 handicap index. So I was hitting most of the drivers about 285-290 on average in the launch monitor. I was pretty much ready to buy the superquad because that seemed to be the best mix of accuracy and distance. However, I remembered reading somewhere about how so many people had fallen in love with the Cleveland Launcher Comp. Sure enough, in the used club bin I picked up a 9.5 degree launcher comp with a factory stiff shaft and gave it a try. Immediately I fell in love with the sound the ball made off the face and the classic head design makes it very pleasing to look down at compared to some other crazy designs. For some reason the ball shoots off this club and I was hitting balls very straight with a slight draw and the monitor was registering between 305-310 consistently. I obviously bought the driver and saved myself several hundred dollars in the process (which was spent on new tour 360's). I have been using it since and still love it, if you are in the market for a new driver please do yourself a favor and just try out the Launcher Comp. I doubt you will be dissapointed. Hit this and you'll see why they had to pry it out of Vijay's hands. Has some outstanding pop to it (so long as you have the right shaft) and fantastic feel. The sound is also superb. I've hit the HiBore, the HiBore XL, and the XLS, and there's no comparison. They feel just absolutely dead compared to this thing. I'm on my second one.

The best driver I have ever hit...by far. I always like to try out other drivers because I like the big dog. I tried several expensive ones...Nike, Taylor Made, Titelist and would occasionally hit a good one, but I seem to hit just as far if not farther and a lot more consistant. Normally when I hit a driver good, it is 250-270. I hit a draw so some of that is roll. With the Cleveland 460, I played in my first tournament with it and I hit about 285 right down the middle...WOW! I had a few drives longer that day and most of all, I had a lot of confidence with this driver. I paid $85 for a practically new club and can not be happier! I have tried numerous drivers over the last few years as I buy/sell clubs on ebay. I picked one of these up for about $70 about 12 months ago and gave it a try. I found it to be the best driver I have ever used- it hits long and straight - just a great club at a very affordable price- cannnot beat it bang for buck. I use the stock stiff flex launcher shaft and a 9.5 degree loft- they are a great combination in my hands and can reccommend to anyone. Customer Service Not needed to date. I traded in my Titleist 905T and Nike SQ for this driver. Mine is a 10.5* model with OEM Aldila NV 65 stiff shaft. This feels like a good combination. i get good pop and the ball gets up pretty quickly. i get a nice trajectory which helps, because i normally hit the ball pretty low. i haven't owned this very long, but last year's end of the season skins game with some friends, i had one nice drive that went about 315 yards. it was such a good feeling through my hands. now if i can get 75% result with the driver every time, i will be writing reviews as a golfer who shoots in the 70s. the sound is very clean and powerful. i couldn't be happier with any other driver, but like most avid golfers, i am always trying other sticks. but if you look at some of the cleveland guys on tour, like Steve Flesch, and 'aquaman,' they are still using the ol' launcher comp. i think flesch uses one with the newer vs proto shaft. read the other reviews. this gets very good bang for your buck. and it's pretty inexpensive. i'm disappointed that they didn't continue developing this line. very very solid. I'm 53, 6'4" and weight 215lbs. I average 270yd drives. This club/shaft combination is perfection for me. Frankly, this is the finest "performing" driver I've ever owned.
