Cleveland Launcher 400 Drivers

Cleveland Launcher 400 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

New technology has made it possible for golf clubs to be more effective and powerful than ever before. The Launcher 400 has the technology of the original Launcher 330 with the added benefits that come from a larger clubhead. This great feeling driver produces a higher launch angle with lower backspin for more carry and increased roll, and also offers an increased moment of inertia which reduces the amount of lost distance on off-center hits. With these new technological advances come restrictions to keep the game fair and fun for golfers of all levels. The rules of golf dictate that a driver face can only offer a certain amount of spring-like effect known as the Coefficient of Restitution or C.O.R. The USGA has officially ruled that the maximum amount of C.O.R. allowed in a golf club is .830. The New Launcher 400 precisely meets this legal limit allowing you to post all of your scores. So, you'll be able to put this club into play in any tournament at any golf course and feel confident that you're getting the distance, the great feel and accuracy of the most technologically advanced club in the game.

first time i slurged on a driver and am i ever glad! had been using steel nickent 11* and have been happy with it... 220- 230 yds and easy to keep in play. but i am know moving back to the "blue" marks and want more distance. i've found it!! 250+ most swings and still easy to keep in play. great looking club even with the gold fuji shaft (reg. flex seems firm) definately the best driver i had demo'd... i'm keeping it

One of the most forgiving clubs that I have ever hit. I went from a Titleist 975D 7.5 degrees regular shaft to the Launcher 400 with 9.5 degrees and stiff shaft. I estimate about 30-40 extra yards of carry, but since it's a higher ball flight, there is less roll. This club is worth every cent!

To start: The 330 launcher is a great driver in 9.5 with the stiff Gold shaft, keep it. I feel it's more consistent than the 400 line and as long with high flight and light fade bias or draw depending on swing. That being said: I reshafted my 10.5 Launcher 400 with the UST Proforce 65 Stiff with good results. I still hit some slice shots due to my swing issues (outside to in cutting across the ball). More shots are straight to slight fade and some light pulls. Better overall consistency with same swing. Swing speed = 105 MPH. Best shots 270 to 280 - mainly carry. The UST stiff and 10.5 still yields a high ball with strong trajectory and limited roll. Off topic: I'd recommend trying the 983K with something other than the grafalloy for more height. The UST ATR or proforce 65. I have a R grafalloy in my TM320 Tour 9 degree and it still hits a low ball. Buying with the gold R-shaft was an experiment, the UST proforce stiff better suits my swing. I had the UST in the basement and figured on changing to try the UST. I did hit some great drives with the R shaft, I had many issues also.

I tested this driver against the Nike 400cc model and this thing won out. I really wanted to like the Nike but the Cleveland just worked better for me. Off center hits fly well. It feels very forgiving. The sweet spot seems very big and the ball just flys off of its face. For a 400cc driver it sets up really well at address too. This driver really gives me the confidence to get up there and make a good swing and let the results happen. This club is no mericle worker as no club is but it is a very nice stick.

I was tested on a launch monitor and the Cleveland 400 10.5 with the Grafalloy Blue stiff shaft gave me the best results. I have never hit a club so long and straight as this driver. I would recommend it to anyone.

After giving the Launcher 400 a try with the stock Fuji Stiff shaft, I thought it was a club with good potential,I just had to find on ewith a shaft/loft combo that suited me. Managed to Pick up a 9.5 deg with a Vista Pro 70 "S" and a 8.5 deg with a Launcher Prolite. Finding a good shaft in one made it go from a club with potential to a real winner. I ended up with the 8.5/Prolite setup and am very pleased. It even knocked out the 983 I had been playing (which is also a great driver). It's more forgiving than the 330 version, and very very easy to hit accurately. Distance wise it's as logn as anything Legal that I have hit, and longer than most. Too bad they dont have a better matrix of stock shaft offerings like Titleist Does with the 983 series, that is about the only thing holding this club back from many better than average player In my opinion. In fact I will try ti find another 8.5 with the Vista Pro 70 in it, because it was really really soild, jsut a tad too high for me at 9.5 deg of loft. Cleveland has another winner in the Driver, and the price point is better than the other main players in the market.

Customer Service

No experience with them can't say either way.

I purchased the Cleveland Launcher 9.5 stiff 400cc driver four weeks ago. I was hitting a 10.0 Affinity 400cc driver with a flex shaft for about two years. My drives at most would go 240-250 yards. My drives now average 270-280. I have two friends that have borrowed it and purchased their own. I recently drove my first green (310). This club is unbelievable.

Have had this club in my bag for my last 6 rounds. All the reviews I have read so far seem very positive but I can't give this club a glowing report like others have. It is a good, solid feeling club thru impact. Mis-hits also fly reasonably well but with a faster swing speed (I swing this club at 118-123 mph) it doesn't fly any further than a lot of other drivers on the market. I hit the 9.5 degree driver and probably hit it too high - the 8.5 would have been a better choice once onthe course. The MacGregor V-Foil is very long and has a better trajectory for hot distance as does the Titlest 975J. With a swing speed over 100 mph you need to use the stiff shaft. The regular is way to wippy and gives you little control. For a 400 cc head the club sets up very well behind the ball giving you some confidence at set-up. This club is going back and the MacGregor will go back in the bag.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher 400 - 9.5 reg. shaft

I'm 44 and have been playing for 7 years. The driver has always been the most important and most erratic club in my bag. I'd been playing the Orlimar HipTI for 2 years. Fair club, but max distance 230 and shaft a bit whippy. The Launcher 400 is a world-class driver. 400 cc but does not create that mammoth, imposing profile at address. Extremely well balanced and easy to swing. The regular shaft is firmer than most. The club simply breeds confidence. I shot my best round - 75 - this past weekend. Virtually every drive was in or near the fairway. Instead of 215-230, my typical drive was 240-250, with a sweet, straight 275 yarder that split the narrow fairway. Instead of hitting 3-5 irons to the green, I was hitting 6-9 irons, which makes ALL the difference. Off center hits tend to "self-correct" as this driver tends to go very straight. Perhaps not ideal for the low handicapper who prefers to shape the ball flight, but for an 11 handicapper (soon to be single digits), this club is a God-send. Highly recommended.

Customer Service

Very patient and professional. Allowed me to take a test drive before buying.

After demoing the titliest 983k, the taylormade 510 with a prolite shaft, and a ping Si3 the launcher 400 hit the ball 15 to 20 yards longer with a larger sweet spot than any of the others. I reccomened this driver to anyone who can break 80 consistantly and is looking for some added distance and forgiveness.

Customer Service

The customer service was way better than titliest, callway, and taylormade.
