Cleveland Launcher 400 Drivers

Cleveland Launcher 400 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

New technology has made it possible for golf clubs to be more effective and powerful than ever before. The Launcher 400 has the technology of the original Launcher 330 with the added benefits that come from a larger clubhead. This great feeling driver produces a higher launch angle with lower backspin for more carry and increased roll, and also offers an increased moment of inertia which reduces the amount of lost distance on off-center hits. With these new technological advances come restrictions to keep the game fair and fun for golfers of all levels. The rules of golf dictate that a driver face can only offer a certain amount of spring-like effect known as the Coefficient of Restitution or C.O.R. The USGA has officially ruled that the maximum amount of C.O.R. allowed in a golf club is .830. The New Launcher 400 precisely meets this legal limit allowing you to post all of your scores. So, you'll be able to put this club into play in any tournament at any golf course and feel confident that you're getting the distance, the great feel and accuracy of the most technologically advanced club in the game.

This driver is the club for me. So far having tried R580, 983K, GBII+ and ping SI3 no club even comes close to the launcher 400. Its slightly less forgiving than the R580, but once you get used to it, BOY! does it go. I used to read review where people said Oh! i whacked a drive 270-290 and i used to think, how crap is that for a high handicapper especially after purchasing the R580 and stepping up to that first tee on the range and thinking "Oh boy! here comes the LONG...260+ and stare in disbelief as my drive hardly managed 230+ with roll. I thought i was doing something drastically wrong. I mean what the heck could be wrong if i was using the R580 the best driver in the world and still wasn't able to launch one past 250. Well i gave up for a month and then decided I'd give it one last go with the Launcher 400cc and LO AND BEHOLD! swear i was bombin them down 270+ every F***IN drive i swear! Never in my life have i had a second shot lie 60 yards on a PAR4 389 yards in MY LIFE! seriously i was 60yards approach shot after a bombin drive with carry + roll that was after the math 389-60=329yards. Ok it was summer and the fairways are hard, but even so, i could never get that much on a ANY driver before. Or maybe it was the 9.5degree in stiff flex but i've hit 8.5degree stiff flex Titleist drivers before and still could never get near. I swear people, this is a VERY VERY underated club an i urge you to try it before you go for the much hyped R580 etc etc. I swing this club on my carpet at home at night and it sparks like crazy. Its cheap compared to other more pricy drivers but worth every penny in my mind. I will be staying with this baby a long long time. Best of all, It looks lovely and cosmetics are so Titleist like, not like crappy TaylorMade woods that scratch paintwork and metal like crazy.

Demo'd this over the weekend. Standard Fujikura shaft, regular flex. Wicked long with a nice easy swing. In fact, slowing down my swing enabled me to hit it further and straighter. Every drive was down the center and at a minimum of 260 carry. If it hadn't rained, with roll my drives would easily be 275+. now I am goingto ry the new 460 just incase I feel the need for the extra big head....but am damn happy with the 400. will be comparing it to the TM R580.

If you have problem ballooning drives like me you have found your club!! If you balloon the 983E and are looking for more carry and roll then ever before here is your driver. I went from 250 yards of carry and 10 yards of roll (975 l-fe) to 280 yards carry and 25 yards of roll! I'm 16,6'3, 155 lbs and I got the Fujikura Pro Vista 90 X stiff with 7.5*

Simply put, the best driver I have ever hit. Usually a huge fan of Titleist, I own the 983K as well, but this driver is far superior. Off center hits are corrected much more than the higher priced Titleist and the club is at least 20-30 yards longer for me. I have a Graffaloy shaft on the the Launcher and get a medium ball flight that carries well and still gets some roll. All in all, I have much more confidence with a Launcher in my hand.

The Luancher 400 with a UST Proforce 65 shaft is the way to go. It goes straighter and further than any other driver I have played. You can work the ball both ways with this club.

Model Reviewed: Launcher 400 - 8.5* w/ Aldila NV-75 Stiff

I purchased an 8.5 with a factory-installed Grafalloy Blue Stiff. Used it for 2-3 weeks but felt something wasn't quite right. Had the swingweight checked and turns out it was C-6....not what I would expect from a club assembled at the factory. Re-shafted with the new Aldila "Green Lizard" NV-75 Stiff. Blew me away! Never experienced a shaft that feels and performs like this. It's now a Ripper! Anybody who's not thrilled with the shaft you are using, try this shaft. It's not cheap (around $85 retail) but it's worth every penny.

How can someone give reviews about how bad this club is when he selected the wrong shaft and loft while he claims to be shooting in the 70s? I have been using this driver for about 5 months now and still love every piece of it. With the 400 CC head, it's not surprising how forgiving this club is. But you will be surprised at how long this club can hit. My old Titleist 975J is no comparison to this club. Ever since I bought this club, two of my golf buddies have went out and got themselves this driver as well. That should tell you how good of a club this is. And the price for this club is lower than some of the big boys. The only slight complaint I have with this is the head cover. It's a struggle putting it on and off.

I submitted a review of this earlier, perhaps 2 months ago, and as an update, more praise for this driver. I have cut 4 strokes from the day I first demo'd this driver when the first review was posted. Changing nothing else in my game, this driver has gotten me closer on second shots, have had more birdies this summer than I have had in my 15 year golf career, and have had 5 eagles, again, more than the total of my first 15 years of golf. I cannot tell you the last time I "needed" to use anything more than a 7 iron as an approach to ANY Par-4, and I now go at Par-5's with 3-5 irons, sometimes less. Forgiving is not the word to describe nicely struck miss hits, they still travel 250+. In summary, buy this driver, none of the others compare, I know, I have tried them all this year, this one is the best bargain and the best driver on the market.

Really wanted to like the 983K better, but this Launcher 400 is longer and easier to hit. The 983K looks better, but the Launcher gives me better results. As another poster mentioned, the grip could be better and the shaft color could be more appealing. I see a lot of these being used on the courses, so that says something right there. Great value at $239 vs. $400 for 983K.
