I recently switch from Cleveland to Callway clubs, and I love my X18 irons and X fairway woods. They're awesome, but I could not adjust to the X460 driver. I could not hit it right. I normally drive 80% of my drives on the fairways, but I could not control this club face. I was all over the place with it. It also made a horrible whale mating sound when I hit it. Im glad I hadnt sold my old driver on ebay. I put my Cleveland Launcher 400 back in the bag.

I read the reviews on this driver and got it for a good price from Callaway Pre-Owned. I wanted to give it a try and see if it was as good as the reviews. It is not for me at least.

I hit the Ping G5 10.5 and generally hit it an average of 275-280 with a slight fade or straight.

I've played two rounds with this club. On one slow day, I hit two balls from the tee, one with the x460 and one with the G5. The G5 is at least 20 to 30 yards longer and more accurate. The G5 has a nice, solid sound, while the x460 has a "ping".

The x460 is not for me. I'll stick with the G5.

This driver is great, just tried it out at the range today. Bought it on eBay for a great price of $105 shipped. I got the tour model with a stiff fujikura shaft. This driver is long and straight. Saw a huge increase in distance and shot quality just from once use. Works well with a fast swing.

I went into a golf shop to buy the Callaway FT-5. Hit it for a while on the simulator with acceptable results, but the pro decided to show me some other options. Hit them ok, too, but I just kept going back to the FT-5, because I had it in my mind that I wanted that club. Finally the pro said hold on, I want you to try one more. He went and got the X460 in a higher trajectory loft. And boom, we both immediately recognized that I was hitting this club the best. Went in determined to buy the FT-5, left with the X460. Immediately went out and played 18 holes. Played an average front nine (missed some easy puts), then shot a 38 on the back...my best 9 holes ever. The X460 is just easy to put in the fairway. Long and straight. And it's a beautiful club, too. They say you can't buy a golf swing -- but I'm starting to wonder...

Went to Dicks & was fitted with a X460 with a Fujikura 60g graphite shaft, 10 degree regular flex for my swing speed which was measured at around 91-92 mph. First, I was really surprised with how light the x460 felt, but even more surprised to see it perform as advertised. All I can say is ' WOW !" when you address the ball you just let the club do the work. Not only did I consistently hit the ball 240-250 yds, but straight down the " pipe." This is a great club, but it is LOUD on contact with the ball....which might be bothersome to some. The proof's in the pudding as they say......test it out for yourself......I think you'll be more than satisfied....460 bigtime cc's that'll make you feel like a big time hitter. Oh yes...the club looks great too...kudos to the folk at Callaway !

I just played 18 holes with my X460 9 degree-- Aldila nv65 stiff flex. The 2 degree closed face helped my slice and my confidence. I am driving straighter and longer than ever. Oh yea, if you hook the X460 tour has a neutral face. This driver and shaft is jam-up and the price just dropped $100 dollars.

Customer Service

I have never had to call them.

A great driver. You lose little to no distance on off center shots. It is the most forgiving club I have ever used.

This is a club that at first I looked past as I had my heart set on a FT-5. After trying both at a demo day I liked the feel of the X 460 better than the FT-5. I also demoed the BB 460 which was also decent.
The x 460 stock Fugi shaft has a low torque, high kick option that I didnt know about. That shaft gave me the exact ball flight I was looking for and the x-460 was $230 cheaper than the FT-5.

I have played 3 rounds with this driver and am very happy with its performance. It looks good at addres, has a nice feel and sound and when you hit it on the screws it will really put the ball out there. The 2* closed club face inspires confidence that I can go at the ball a liitle harder when I need to and ball will fade not slice.

At this price it is definatly worth taking a look!

Customer Service

Callaway is by far the best, I have used them in the past! I used Titleist customer service for my last set of irons and they were horrible. Callaway is much better.

Model Reviewed: X18 (Japan version X460)

Bought the JV of X460 equipped with Graphite Design X series shaft (S flex)
Appearance-Looks neat and well designed body. Crown made of composite and the face and base made of titanium.
Performance. Longer than my Cleveland launcher 460 and much louder. People at the range where I practiced were all amused by the amount of noise the club head generates. Forgiveness-very forgiving head and off-centred hits do not suffer a major loss of distance. The ball still goes straight but will lose 10-20% distance. To a certain extent, it will "cure minor swing flaws" but bad swings will not escape punishment.
With my swing speed in the mid to low 90s, this shaft (though stiff flex) is a little soft but it nevertheless performs consistently. Kickpoint is low but the ball doesn't balloon if I release the clubhead properly.
Paid US$235 for a club that had a retail price of US$560.
