I had an original Warbird driver, so I wasn't expecting anything much different. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this club delivers a much better trajectory and flight than the Warbird. It's very easy to hit and can't be mistaken with it's trademark "tink" sound. This is definately the most confident I've ever felt with a driver in my hand. Hats off to Callaway!! I bought this driver and it was pretty good. I reshafted it with a True Temper EI-70 and what a difference! A great shaft for this club. I thought the Steelhead Plus must be better being a newer generation club. I was wrong! The Steelhead Plus was junk compared to the original Steelhead. I have yet to hit a driver/shaft combo that out hits this combo. Great trajectory. Low and piercing. Lots of roll. I've had the driver over a year and no problems. Highly recommend this club. 1999 Steelhead 11 degree, graphite, regular flex
My best driver to date. I added 20-30 yards, and much more forgiving to boot. Forgiveness is its middle name. I did measure the actual loft and found it to be 13 degrees, about right for my 88 MPH swing speed. Most people buy too strong lofted a club and then wonder why it's hard to hit and they can't get any distance. Regular flex shaft is well matched to this club and my swing. It seems to have a fairly low CG for a driver and so I tee it a little lower, about 3/4" off the ground. I also tried the 2000 model the Steelhead Plus, and found it did not work as well for me. I would not hesitate to recommend this club for anyone who shoots in the upper 80's or above. Great club, great on distance and very forgiving. I hit it staright all the time, it make a nice loud noise when you hit it that will trick people into thinking that you hit it on the sweet spot overy time! Similar Products Used: GBB, TM Supersteel |

I was so excited at the price i got this club for and couldnt wait to get it in the mail. once i got it and took it to the course and i was a little disapointed because it didnt give me as much distance as i wanted but it is very forgiving. at the price i got it for i was satisfied but if u want distance this isnt the best thing. i think it is deadly accurate tho. This club gets a bad rap. Iv'e never hit so consistant and accurate. It's helped my high fade without any changes in my swing and is very forgiving. Also a great value so what more could you want? Maybe a bit more distance but overall a great club. Similar Products Used: Taylormade,Orlimar,Adams,Cobra |

This driver is the best I have played. It swings easy, but is not whippy in the backswing. The sound off of the tee is unmatched by any other driver I have played. I have played the titanium faced clubs, and this is by far better for me off of the tee. Similar Products Used: Big Bertha, Titleist, Mizuno |

It's the best driver I've ever hit, and I'm picky about my drivers. My old titanium driver was hitting about 290-300 with no accuracy. But with my new steelhead I only lose 10 yards but with ten times the accuracy I recommend it to all of you who want more accuracy in a driver. One million times better than my old Hawkeye. |

I used to use the Great Big Bertha lady Gem, but after a while the I needed more accuracy and slightly more length. I went to my local golf shop and they put the steelhead in my hand and told me to hit some shoots. I have never hit a driver so straight, and soo far in my life. The steelhead is probably the best one of the best drivers on the market at the moment and it certainly has a good, affordable price tag! Similar Products Used: Biggest Big Bertha, Great Big Bertha |

10-degree driver, 3 & 5 woods
I used a rental set in Hawaii which included three Steelhead woods, 10-degree driver, 3 & 5 woods. I liked them much more than I had expected to, particularly since I have never been able to hit the Great Big Bertha well. First tee: Smack, down the middle 240 out. Hmmm...I like this! Same was true throughout the round, except when I put a particularly ugly swing on it. The shaft was shorter and I think the result was shorter than my Taylor Made Ti also. But I don't put much stock in length, rather in position on the fairway and control. These woods were very controllable and imparted less spin than my own clubs. This is what I value. As Harvey Penick said, ""The woods are full of long hitters."" I loved the click of the ball on the clubface and the fact that I got my usual left-to-right movement. I didn't have to change my whole game to adjust to the club. I may just have to snag one for my bag permanently. Similar Products Used: Many woods: Powerbilt, Taylor Made, Adams, Mizuno |
