Model Reviewed: 12 degree driver- m-10 shaft

Go this club a few weeks ago- Never have had the best luck with my driver- like to tee off with a 3 wood to get more accuracy. Decided to go to the 12 degree driver- give up a little distance for more control. Turned out to be a solid decision. slightly longer carry than my 3, with similar accuracy, a lower trajectory and lots more roll- Went from hitting the 3 about 210-220 net to 230-250 with this club. Also, I fade the 3 wood, but tend to hit this club straighter due to the hook face. Maybe a little more tendency to hit a long, straight pull, but that's me and not the club. Great club!

I like the strong 4. Gets lots of carry and roll with a boring launch angle.

Model Reviewed: Callaway Steel Head Plus 9* stiff graphite

I got this driver as a gift about 6 months ago, and i already want to get rid of it. Number 1, Its just too small. Number2, the stiff grafite shaft is crap! It torques way too much. It takes a scratch played to hit this club well. A tad off the center sends the ball jerking laft of flying way right. In order to hit it perfect, you can't tee it low or too high, you'll top it or sky it(very easy to do). its definately not worth the $250 that it costs. Its not a piece of crap but not anything special either. If you do buy it, get another shaft installed or get the memphis 10 steel shaft. I also cant stand the sound. Its wayyyyyy to tinny. It a loud echoing ting thats very annoying. the grip is also crap. It wears down quick and little rubber particles cover the whole club. This club is NOT worth the MSRP. for the money get a taylor made or Orlimar. This club flies about 20 yards short of the Titleist 975D and Ping TiSI, and all the distance is roll. the carry is very short but the roll is super. I would not rcommend this club to anyone!!!

Grip Sux(wears down fast and all the little rubber partiles cover the whole club)

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus 10* / steel shaft

Switching from a Hawkeye Driver, This club proves to be only 5-10 yds shorter but I'm finding many more fairways these days. I got the steel shaft which is 43.5" and it gives me the confidence and control that I needed but didn't get with the Hawkeye driver. I've had other Memphis-10's in past Callaway woods and this is definitely an improvement. Plays more like a Dynamic Gold Stiff. I may never go back to Titanium woods again.

Customer Service

Callaway is the best. Had my x-12's reshafted...no problem got it back in a week.

SUPERB DISTANCE & ACCURACY!!!!!!...

I bought the steel shafted version due to the fact there was minimal distance loss over graphite (firm) but far more consistancy. Low price as well for the steel version.

I took the club to a respected club maker & upon looking at the shaft he commented it was not the Memphis 10 as used on other callaways, even though a label on the bottom says M-10. The club frequencied out close to a Stiff Dynamic Gold shaft.

Try the steel shaft before any other, you may be suprised. For me this flies futher and straighter than the 10.5 TM Supersteel(OK) and Firesole(CRAP!).

This club is easily as long as TI equivelents and not nearly as unforgiving as people claim. H'cap=12 SS=92mph Tempo=Ave

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus 9 Degree

I went to the pro shop convinced that I was in need of a stiff graphite shaft due to my ability to generate high club head speed. Wrong. I spent about an hour with a pro there and tried several brands of clubs as well as shafts. To really swing a stiff graphite shafted driver you need to generate 120mph+ head speed consistently, it's what it is made for. Only 3-5% of all golfers can do this. I swing harder than all my playing friends and I am around 110-115mph. I chose the steel shaft and 9 degrees of loft. I hit it straighter than anything I've tried and the club is forgiving...as any driver can be. Distance is great...about 285 with roll 245-250 carry. The feel is great. Although the head isn;t as big as some I've tried, if you like the security of a large clubhead at address, this isn;t for you.

Model Reviewed: 2 wood

This 2 wood was given to me by a good friend of mine who had a bit of trouble hitting it consistently. All I can say is that he should of just got used to this club because it is simply amazing.I currently use it off the tee although I can also hit it off of the fairway and man does this club look good at adress. Can't say enough for this club. Go buy it.

The Steelhead fairway wood is one of the best and easiest woods to hit. It is very forgiving and easy to get airborne.

Model Reviewed: steelhead plus 3 wood

I bet I'm not the only one who admires callaway wood because of the "tink" it makes while in contact with the ball. Great sound, great feel, kinda pricey though. Well, steelhead plus is a beautiful wood and neither oversize nor low profile. Maybe it's just the right size club. Hits far in solid contact but well... not much forgiveness in off center or heel/toe hitting. That's what practice is for, to make a solid contact right? Don't expect to have a club that's really very forgiving, it can make your golfing worse cuz when you're not hitting it right, it still goes kinda far and acceptable, then you won't work hard to get the real right hit.

Added a 4 wood with steel shaft to my bag. Great club. Solid feel. Very good distance. Easy to work in either direction and it sets up very nicely behind the ball. Like previous reviewers, I got a great deal on closeout. Hard to figure out why Callaway's dumping them.
