Very dissappointed. This was the first club that I have ever bought. I lost between 20 to 25 yards when compared with my old driver when compared with centered drives and 25 to 40 yards less with off centered hits. I also contracted a horrible slice. Although I must say that I loved the sound and the looks. Similar Products Used: None |

Purchase steelhead after trying a friend's club. The one I purchased was terrible--apparently a "dud". Sent it back to Callaway but they were out of steelheads so they sent me a steelhead plus. Much nicer club than steelhead, better finish, very easy to hit. Good distance with nice easy swing. Quite forgiving. If you have a Callaway that seems dead, you should consider returning it to Callaway rather than re-shafting or just giving up as some reported. Customer Service As stated above, received "dud" club. Returned it to manufacturer and got newer model as replacement. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made, Wilson Metal Matrix, others |

Although not the longest of drivers the steelhead plus is certainly the most consistent that I have ever used in terms of the number of fairways that I hit with it. There is no feeling like that of hitting a Callaway driver out of the middle of the club. The Steelhead Plus is miles better than the Standard Steelhead which was my old driver. Customer Service I have had 3 Standard Steelhead drivers the faces of which all caved in. Callaway replaced all free of charge via my local pro and eventually sent me the new Steelhead Plus with which I have had no problems. Similar Products Used: Standard Steelhead. |

Steelhead Plus Driver 9 * steel
I purchased the club w/the M-10 steel shaft because the 3 wood was so sweet (sounding and feeling w/exceptional distance). Anyways, the driver has not shown itself to resemble the 3 wood in anyway besides appearance. I thought the driver felt like a "dead stick" so I reshafted it with stiff flex UST 65 Proforce graphite and there is some improvement. It's certainly better than the steel but not a great club overall. Sound and feel are more dead than the 3 wood, Distance is not much more than the 3 wood either. Overall, not a bad club especially for the money but not an awe-inspiring stick by any means. Customer Service Ping's service is excellent, so is Callaway's, Titleist/Acushnet is slow w/service and turnaround Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Burner titanium, Ping TiSi 10 *, Yonex ADX 200, Powerbilt persimmon, Yonex Biam Titanium Driver |

Unforgiving, but solid. Most of the distance is on roll, but that has much more to do with the loft of the club than its design. Excellent for windy conditions or fairway shooter who are looking to use that rare skill to their advantage. Not recommended to beginners, nor big club head lovers. Steelhead Plus 3 Wood Steel shaft
I have used this club for an entire season and can honestly say that I have my good days and bad days with it. However, I believe this is more my swing than anything else. This past weekend everything fell together and I had the best round of the year. I don't carry a driver in my bag as this is really my first year playing seriously. I was crushing the ball straight as an arrow and averaging 230-250 yards each time. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Callaway Big Bertha, Taylor Made Firesoles |

Great driver. Steel shaft is shorter than most graphites out there today and this really helps with control. Other people who have tried my driver (8*) have hit their best (longest and straightest) drives of the day. These are people who carry Hawkeyes and Taylor Mades in their bag. Perhaps this club was too inexpensive for them to try originally. Similar Products Used: None |

Steel heads are great once the club is reshafted. The M-10 98 shaft provides no feel and is to soft. Reshafted w/ True Temper Dynamic gold s300 shafts and haven't looked back. Customer Service Callaway customer service is their strongest asset. Similar Products Used: None |
