Wow. That's the best way to describe this club. I had recently upgraded from my Big Bertha Warbird 9* (stiff) to a new Steelhead Plus 9* (stiff) and was somehwta happy with it's preformance. Great distance, but no forgiveness. You really had to hit the ball on the screws or you'd be out in right field. I averaged just under 260 with my Warbird, which i ws happy with, and went up another 25-30 yards with the Steelhead plus - much more than i had actually anticipated. I tried out a new Hawkeye Pro Series with the 65 stiff shaft in it yesterday. I averaged well over 310 for the day on all my driving holes, and must have hit 25 in a row on the range beforehand farther. I ever swung out of my shoes on a few and they still left the face with total control. 5 yard draw for extra roll. If you want a left to right, no problem. This is by far the best driver i have ever hit in all my years of golf (21). If anyone could ever construct a driver for any level of play, this is it. My girlfriend took a few swings with it on the range and hit it on the nose everytime. She improved her distance by almost 60 yards. And that was using the stiff pro shaft. If you make a golf investment this year, pick one of these up at Callaway-Preowned. It's the best investment you'll make. Straight drives help your game, everytime. Now, if i could just get the putting to come around....

i didn't read these reveiws until after i had ordered the club and i started to get nervous about all of these bad reveiws it was getting. i previously had the callaway ggb and i have been hitting it pretty good with a bad hook every so often, so i decided to upgrade. i got nervous that this wasn't the club for me, since everybody has been complaining about the terrible duck hooks. WOW! i got this club and brought it to the range and was surprised how straight i was hitting it. I brught it to the course and i have been having the same results. i am hitting more fairways with greater distance!i dont understand how people are not hitting this club? i have only hooked it once and that was becasue of a terrible mis hit! this is a very easy club to hit with great forgiveness. DONT listen to those bad reveiws, maybe they should turn towards their bad swings!! because it is definetly not the clubs fault!! I also am not having any problems with the shaft, the callaway shaft is doing just fine. i am very pleased i purchased it, and would highly recommend it!

WOW...WOW...WOW! I bought this club last week and my first range experience was good. I hit the ball long and high, but I seemed to have a tendency to pull it. Even still, it went long and it didn't pull bad. Regardless, last night I took it out for a round and I've never had the distance that this club gave me. I had 6 drives over 240 yards, including two that were over 280. This might not sound that great, but I normally average about 210 off the tee. Last night I averaged at least 230. I only put 3 balls in the fairway, but the misses were just off the fairway by a few feet and the distance off the tee more than made up for that as I was left with short approaches to the green on a regular basis. In fact it made nearly every par five reachable in two if I had elected to go for it. What can I say other than this club is worth its weight in gold so far. The confidence I feel at the tee is raising my game to a whole other level and I do know that I will be breaking 90 on a regular basis very soon thanks in part to this club. Lastly, I used a fairly soft ball with alot of spin last night. I'm looking forward to trying a distance ball with less spin to see what type of distance I can gain.

Customer Service

Haven't needed to use them so I don't know, but Golf Galaxy was excellent. They couldn't find the original headcover for this club so they gave me a brand new one. I just love the look of it in my bag!

Excellent club, At first I though the loft was too much, but the extra loft reallt helps on off-center hits, and almost eliminates the worm-burner. I couldnt pass uo the deal which was only 100 bucks. When struck well it flies high and long. When struck off-center it flies at a low piercing trajectory almost the same distance. Easiest driver to get airborn Ive ever hit. Getting the ball to fly high is typically my problem but this solved it. Currently getting a stiff shaft in it. It came with a light flex. Not the best shaft for a 100 mph swing speed. I would reccomend it to anyone.

at first, I played a 10deg. Steelhead Plus Driver, and was hitting about 230 meters. Now I'm playing the Hawkeye VFT, I always have "the longest Drive" in a competion, with monster drives, in the fairway, over 260 meters! The only thing is: it actually ìs important to hit the Hawkeye on the sweetspot!

I am 13 years old and I have been golfing for 9 years, and I have never seen a driver like the Hawkeye VFT 10 deg. Driver. Before I was hitting the ball about 190 with a fade and I was missing every fairway right, since my dad got me the VFT for my birthday I have been hitting the ball consistantly 225 right down the middle of the fairway. I highly recomend this club to anyone!

This driver is like a high strung woman; treat her wrong and you'll pay the price, be good to her and she'll be yours for the taking. The club is only moderately forgiving, but rewards good swings with mammoth tee shots. If you're a very high handicapper or new to the game, stay away. If you have a decent swing, you might want to try her out.

This driver had it's fair share of ups and downs. When I first picked up this driver when I first started to play golf, I hit it fairly well with that hacking swing and thought this was the club. But then a good drive every now and then was like magic to my eyes, but now since I have improved down to about a 5 handicap, this driver just doesn't cut it. Very inconsistant. I installed a Proforce65 gold shaft with stiff flex. It helped keep the ball in the ballpark but if I tried to muscle it, it would result in the weirdest hook I have ever seen, very embarassing. Also, you can't feel the head of the club on the backswing or downswing, so it's very difficult to get the feel for the club. When I hit this driver good, I hit it about 275, that's about as far as I can nail it. But only about 3 times a round that would happen. I don't know where these guys who shoot in the 100's get saying they hit the ball 300+ yards. They must have horrible short games. A great driver is the Steelhead Plus, or the TaylorMade 320. They are, believe me, tons more consistent than the VFT.

Customer Service

Didn't bother. But Callaway is good with their customers or so I hear.

Best driver ive ever owned. Although i have never had a set of clubs or even a driver worth anything. I tried this, the stealhead and a nickent. This was my favorite by far. Far lighter, bigger clubhead size, better grip. I used to hit ball about 205. Now im hitting a 275 yard draw most of the time. Great driver for around this price. If you are willing to pay 50-100 bux more u might wanna try the big bertha 2 or taylormade 360.
