This club is not all it is cracked up to be I can usually hit the ball 275-300 yards off the tee with a knovk off of the 975d but with the VFT I hit it between 240-265.

Good for everyone with proper swing.
For those guys who cannot handle a driver, please don't say something negative here. Improve your swing first...

This is the worst driver on the market. I cannot believe all the people saying good things about it. I cannot hit it, and nobody I know can. Perhaps there are two drivers being tested here. Good VFTs and bad VFTs. All I can say is that my one is in the last catagory.

Well I bought my driver about 2 days ago and took it to the range and hit it for the first time outdoors and let me tell you that I was very impressed. I hit about 2 buckets of balls, one of the totally with my new driver and out of that bucket only hit about 2 bad balls. This club is very forgiving, because not all those balls were hit on the sweet spot and the step traveled very well.

Last night I took that driver out and played a 9 hole round because we all know that the test of a new club is the course not the range. The fist two driver were not very good because I was trying to slow down my swing and just hit the ball. By my third drive I finally realized just to swing this driver just like I did my last driver and boy did I like the outcome. My first good drive on the course was about 290 yards. The next holes I was getting more comfortable and I drove pin high on a 325 yard Par 4, it was just about 15 feet to the right for an easy chip.

This club plays very well with my swing and my game. I have compete confidence that I will be driving a lot more accurante and definely a lot longer, about 30 yards longer than my Steelhead Plus driver that I was using.

The club is a lot of money but money is not everything and the feel that I got when I hit that 325 yard drive made it all worth it.

GREAT DRIVER. I crush this all the time! I am reaching par 5's in two and goin into most par 4's with wedges! I hit is straight with a little draw that adds distance! But right now I have to send it back because the head flew off the shaft on the 9th hole when i was playin a round last saturday. I should get it back soon and hopefully before Club Championship.

Model Reviewed: Callaway VFT 10* UST 65 STIFF

I've had this club six months and it is a "crusher" with the UST 65 stiff, I reshafted from the stock shaft. This is a true 10* and is very workable with excellent trajectory. I would NOT recommend any lower loft for the average player and the RESHAFT is a must.

Customer Service

Wonderful assistance with the reshaft from a terrible stock shaft

I must agree with those who recommend changing the shaft of the VFT.

I am a lady golfer who has been using a men's GBB and doing quite OK with it. I bought a VFT with the gems (ladies')shaft...and that was a big mistake. The shaft was too short and the club just didn't feel right - that made me lose a lot of distance in my drives. So I changed the shaft to the UST Proforce 65 men's regular flex 45 inch . Boy..what a difference it made. I am now hitting average 20 yards longer and splitting the fairway 80% of the time.

The only problem is I don't know if it's the UST shaft or the VFT driver that makes the difference. Maybe I will also change the shaft of my GBB to the Proforce 65..then I can tell if it's the shaft that's making all the difference.

This is a great club!
This is the best legal driver that Callaway has made. Please demo this club for yourself. If you have a good swing, this club will certainly go further and straighter than any previous Callaway models. If you have major swing flaws, DO NOT purchase this club. Go get some lessons and then BUY IT! If you presently can hit your driver 275+ you just might get 300 out of this club. Check it out!!!

This is a FINE driver. I have stayed away from Callaway in the past and remained loyal to TaylorMade and Ping--big mistake. This club has it all.

When reading the reviews below please remember that real scratch golfers understand that bad swings, not clubs, produce a duck-hook. Further, you won't hit the ball 300+ yards unless you couple this club with a rock-hard, spin-resistant ball.

Finally, do not use these reviews to buy a club; use them to see what clubs you should go and demo. Then go demo a couple of different clubs, ON THE COURSE, not driving range (which is 450 yards wide and makes every shot you hit appear "down the middle") and decide which is best for you.

Just my thoughts.
