Best driver I've hit to date. Played a Warbird for 3 years, but tried many different drivers, and this driver is outstanding. Would occasionally have a mean slice, but this club has perfectly fixed the problem and I hit it straight and about 30 to 40 yards longer. I'm currently averaging about 285 yards a drive and that's including some occasional mishits. Have a regular flex system 60 shaft and works great for me. For any of you who have a raw slice like I used to, try this vft with a regular flex and I promise you will be amazed and have to have it like I did!!!!

I had tried out this club from my local pro several times before I purchased it. I really like the feel of the club head, but like all other Callaway drivers the shaft really sucks. My driver that I owned before the VFT was the original hawkeye. I had it reshafted with a proforce 65 and that made it much better. So, when I saw this VFT with a proforce (factory installed by special order) shaft I knew I had to have it. This club is rediculous. With my Hawkeye I was driving the ball between 250 and 270 yds. This past Sunday, had my aim been a little better by about 5 degrees, I would have driven a 290 yard green!! Also, when I got the club it had a Winn grip which I immediately replaced with Golf Pride tour velvet. I can see why some people don't like this club. However, all you have to do to make it one of the best clubs on the market is to special order a different shaft. If you still don't like it, you must be crazy. The only club I know that is as good is the new 975J and I'm not going to pay $500.00 for it.

Customer Service

I had a rattle in the head of my Steelhead 3 wood. Sent it back to Callaway and they sent me back a brand new Steelhead Plus.

I had a Great Big Bertha that I loved that was stolen from my golf bag (I do do not use factory head covers anymore). Replaced it with a Biggest Big Bertha (8* Strong) that hit well but I never really liked the feel of. Recently traded out for a VFT (8* firm) and lost distance and saw the dreaded stubby hook that others have described. Called Callaway support and they replaced the club with a VFT Pro (9.5*, tour x-stiff) and I LOVE the club. I tried most of the current drivers and I do not think that drives of any one club are markedly longer than the others. Perhaps it is just the improved shaft technology, but I do find less deviation in drives with off-center hits than I did with earlier Callaways. (Drove 262 in the fairway yesterday, when I looked at the club face I could see that the hit was out on the toe). Strangely my friend (who shoots in the 70's) hits the regular VFT much better than the Pro version. If you are seriously considering buying this club you should DEFINITELY try both versions (std and Pro). Remember, you are not looking for a club that is perfect, you are looking for a club that is perfect for you.

Customer Service

Absolutely first rate. If they had not been so good I would not be using this club today.

Model Reviewed: Hawkeye VFT 10 degree Firm

I had heard mixed reviews on the new VFT driver, and decided to find out for myself. I was truly impressed. Being a lefthanded golfer, clubs aren't always that easy to find, and the clubs I had were knock offs - but a good learning set. With the VFT, I've been averaging 25 - 35 yards more on drives, and hitting more fairways off the tee. Before, a 300 yd drive would be out of the question, now I've been able to get there and beyond a few times. The larger sweet spot has kept my mishits from flying into the next fairway. I highly recommend this club for someone that wants to step up from the beginner set and enjoy the game more.

I have been playing this since February, and still love it. For those who say they can't hit it or it sucks, they need to take lessons, use a 3 wood or get the loft they need. I average about 270 with an occasional 300 yd drive when everything comes together perfectly and ohhhhhhmyyyyyyy! sweet feeling:) BTw I have a friend who is 60 yrs old and he can hit this club off the deck 275yds straight, but he is a scratch golfer and plays a Hawkeye ProSeries 7.5* 3.2shaft. Bottom line is if you can play you'll love this club. Peace

Quality driver. The VFT tech provides excellent distance, feel and sound. Very forgiving on off center hits. Hit it on the screws and the ball explodes off the club face. The new shafts are firmer with lower torque. Lofts are true with excellent ball flight pattern.

Model Reviewed: VFT 12 degree regular

Brilliant club! Absolutly night and day from what I expected. Today was my first time out using this club. I actually shot an 85 (13 strokes below my usual handicap) and won our company tournament! I haven't shot in the 80's my entire life, and that's over 20 years of hacking the ball. This club is easy to hit and very forgiving. I had no bad drives and averaged maybe 260 plus yards. I also had no pop-ups, considering the 12 degree loft. I play with firm shafts (this driver is a regular), and had alittle more fade than usual. If I continue to play like this, I'll consider changing to a ProForce 65 firm. I even made believers out of my regular playing buddies.

Now I read all the criticisms about this club from within this forum and others as well, and was very scared that I made the wrong purchase. When I first hit my original 10 degree firm, I was kicking myself on the range. I duck hooked the majority of my balls and could not get it airborne. It also felt lousy. Most retailers don't stock an 11 and 12 degree loft, so you may have to special order. If you doubted these clubs in the past, it's probably due to the lower lofts. You gotta have a perfect swing to hit them.

Customer Service

Excellent/Exceptional service. Originally purchased 10 degree firm. Could not hit w/ it on the range. CS allowed me to change loft at no charge. Said retailers have the misconception that this club has a higher flight pattern than a Warbird. CS calls it the Loft Exchange Program. Apparently this happens across the country. I'm a new loyal customer!
