VFT 9deg Strong
Bought this used VFT from a local proshop. Its 9 degree combined with strong shaft seems to fit my swing. Driver distance is about the same as before but off center hits were more forgiving than my Mizuno Forged. I guess the only difference between VFT and the original hawkeye is the reduced backspin on VFT which translates to more roll. I take VFT to man who hit well on APGA tour. He tell me that VFT only for good player. Then he not so good hit either. He say bad to club and now I go to get it again. I put club in brown paper an now I hit no more. Similar Products Used: to try products |

Callaway VFT 10* regular
At the risk of getting ripped by the Callaway community on this site, I must say this club is not very good. In fact, it's the worst Callaway driver I've ever hit. Why? With most clubs you demo, you take 10 cuts with a nice, smooth, 75 percent swing, just to get a feel. Then you hit 10 with a more aggressive swing, still keeping it smooth. Then you let loose and see what a club can do. With this VFT, even the smooth 75 percent swings felt thin and the ball sprayed everywhere but straight (except for one, which flew nicely). When I increased the swing speeds, still taking what I know were decent swings, there was still very little cooperation from this club. I think three shots were acceptable. Then I got more aggressive to see what the VFT could do. Things went from bad to worse. Simply put, the shaft (although better than earlier attempts) is still inferior, and the sweet spot on this thing must be the size of a pebble. I am so glad I demo'd it before I bought it, because I had planned to take one home. What a mistake that would have been. For those who sing the praises for the VFT, good for you. If you can hit it, all the more power to you. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Everything out there, man |

From Steve's comment below - yes you have offended me with your remarks. Yes, I do shoot in the 70's. Just because I do does not mean there are not bad drivers out there. In my opinion, the VFT is a much inferior club to others on the market today. When I went looking for a new driver, the VFT was number one on my list (all of my other clubs, including irons, are Callaway). But after side by side comparisons with other drivers, I ended up with a TM 320, and not the VFT (see my TM 320 review a few months back). I find this to be a great driver, especially on bad hits. Its exceptionally long and has replaced my 975D. This might not be the driver for everyone-but-if you truly find this one to be a bad club and are a single digit hdcpr., I think a couple of lessons will change your mind. Callaway VFT 3 Wood
I did try out the VFT driver but with not much success. For me, it's got to look good and this driver didn't do it for me. As well, it just didn't feel great. As a result, I went with the Taylor Made 320. I'm glad I did. However, I did demo the VFT 3 wood and I was very surprised. Right from the get go I've been hitting fabulous shots. Good trajectory and very good distance. So good, that I traded my Titleist 3 wood in on the VFT. This club is solid. I'd highly recommend it. One word of caution though... don't try to kill it. A smooth, solid swing andthe ball is gone.... Similar Products Used: Titleist,Cleveland, |

Notice how most of the negative "reviews" on this club have NO substance? They tell you "it's bad" but give no clue as to why. So read and take the reviews with a grain of salt. The worst club ever. I gave this driver every chance to work. I even had Callaway send a new one because I thought it was defective. No change. Corrupts whatever kind of swing you had before trying to make it work right. Customer Service Amazing. They are as polite as people can be. 5 star service. Hawkeye VFT 10*
Just before I got the VFT driver yesterday, I came here to in hope to read some reviews between the original hawkeye and the VFT. The result I got is mixed... So, I decided to try both drivers at Golf Galaxy. They have a really good deal on the original hawkeye but I ended up with the VFT anyway. I do find that you ought to make at least a half way decent shot in order to take advantage of this club; but I love it. I have to say this club is fairly additive, I just can't stop hitting with this club. Similar Products Used: Callaway all the way! |

This is the worst driver Callaway ever came out with. It is not as long as the original Hawl Eye, nor nearly as forgiving. Do yourself a favor do not waste your money as I did. Also, way to expensive for a product that does not deliver. Customer Service Their service is good, the product is bad Similar Products Used: Hawk Eye, Ping ISI, Titleist 975D |
