Callaway Hawk Eye VFT Drivers

DESCRIPTION

From Callaway Golf: The new Hawkeye VFT driver is the "hottest, most forgiving driver available that also conforms to USGA rules." Absolutely superb. I was leery based on some of the reviews I read but performance of this club was truly amazing. LONG and WORKABLE. Off center hits are noticable but this kind of feel/feedback helps you to adjust and make better swings. Knowing that you haven't hit the ball squarely is important information if you are looking to improve your game. Pricey but worth every penny.

I think the guys who write the reviews
on this page dont know what they are talking about or they must be on Callaways payroll. VFT must stand for VERY FLAT TRAJECTORY , this club does not even come close to the new Taylor Made 300 series and the ERC 2 is even worse

All I can say is HOLY SH.. What a fantastic club. Longer than the original hawkeye (by 20yds). Off-center shots went farther. Drawing the ball like never before. Pushes are less severe now. It is hard to imagine any [legal] club going farther or more forgiving. This club was designed for players like myself: 12 handicap, tendency to push, few draws. Scratch golfers may not need this club, but for you and me, it's a godsend - 5 out of 5

Best driver I've ever hit...works great with my right to left ball flight and 20-30 yards further than my biggest callaway. The other guys in my foursome just shake their heads when i blast my drives well beyond theirs.

Easy to hit for most people. Shifting from 975D to HE VFT since i found that 975D is more suitable for Pros. TM320 is good driver but i don't like the look.

Of all the club I have used. Grand TAG was the only club that I like most. Too bad I sold it for the Honma which I sold as well for the PRGR which is what I'm using now. I have deceide to change to a VFT 8* after the demo on th 9*. It is by far the longest carried Driver I have tried and the easiest to shape the ball into fade or draw ball. But every golfer some how will have some different in the swing and game. So, Tried before you purchased it.

Before I picked a driver, I'd been teeing off with a 3-wood (quite successfully, I might add). When it came time to choose a driver, I ended up with the Hawkeye VFT. Just like the new VFT 3-wood, this driver produces longer, more penetrating shots than the originals. Contrary to some opinions, I find the club as forgiving as expected; mis-hits produce face-saving results. The club even looks better than the original Hawkeye.

I am quite pleased with my 9* VFT. I replaced a 975* that I played with all of last season.

My biggest complaint with the VFT is that the club face is closed, so much so that it's sort of annoying. I already play a right to left shot off the tee, so it's not too difficult to turn the ball over more than I would like. I think the closed face is to help the average player that would probably have a hard time getting the face square to closed with such a huge club head and long shaft. However, the closed face also eliminates the entire right side of the course for me. I have no fear at all of losing the ball right, not ever.

The closed club face is also responsible for helping to keep the ball flight nice and low. I was very surprised at how low I can hit this club with the stock shaft in it. I will probably still reshaft with a UST shaft, but I must say that the cheap-o shaft is doing better than I anticipated.

I was hoping the VFT would play like the previous Hawkeye drivers, and it has matched them in terms of accuracy and surpased them terms of distance.

I've really struggled off the tee until now. This club turns par 5's into par 4's. Long, forgiving & accurate. Get one.
