None Ive been playing for a year now and when I went to the range for the first time with this club it wasnt really really good. I''d say just a bit above average. But it did feel quite good. However, for the next couple of months or so, I just couldnt hit it. It would go in all directions and thought to myself "What a waste of money." Living overseas, I couldnt exactly take it back, so I kept playing with it. After a while however, I got used to the club and realised it was actually very good. I think my initial problem was swinging way too hard. I have a fairly fast down swing and I think it just didnt match. I think swinging it smoother & with a bit less speed helped me to hit this driver. I really feel that my hands/arms only need to engage in the swing late. ie.After I completely turn my hips. This way I can really make solid contact and the feeling is extremely good. I hit this driver about 270 metres if I hit it good. I dont know my swing speed but my 3 iron goes 210 metres. I also demoed the Titleist 975D after buying VFT. I actually really liked it. It didnt take long to get used to and I found I could hit it with a lot more speed and still keep it straight. Maybe its just the shaft for me. Customer Service ??? Similar Products Used: ERCI, ERCII, Titleist 975D, |

None When I purchased this club I was impressed, particularly by the distance. After a few months I realised I was inconsistent and went back to the original Hawkeye which I now realise is the best driver I''ve ever had. now looking for someone to buy my VFT!!! None This is the best driver I have used to date. Over the last 7 years that I have been playing golf I''''ve bought at least one new driver each year as they have goten better and better. I find this driver very forgiving and very long. I really like the weight and balance of this club, very easy to swing. I think the shaft could be improved apon I find it too torquey, but I''''m unsure what shaft to put on it I don''''t want to change the weight and balance that I like. I regularly hit this driver 280-320yds, without smoking anything! I also find the trojectory to be too high, but that''''s not stopping me from getting the ball out there. None Well I''ve reviewed both the VFT and ERC II before, but I just have a few more things I would like to add, in case any callaway staff read this. Callaway products have been long well known for their ease to hit, nice design, and good feeling clubs. However, I just have to say that the total quality of their products are still sub standard when compared to the asking price. There seems to be different qualities in different products of the same line. For example recently, I purchased an ERC II for the ridiculous price they were asking for it because I had tried a couple of them that two of my friends had and was so impressed with the ease, the distance, and the forgiveness of the club. However, when I bought my own, I wasn''t getting any of the qualities I was expecting. I had to go back two days later and complain to the shop owner who changed the club for me with an unhappy look. The new ERC II was better, but it is still a little short of the ones I tried. Callaway clubs are well known for differences in a club. The same model could have many differences. For example, some VFT''s and ERC''s have more closed faces than others, a firm shaft could sometimes be on the stiff side or the regular side, the grips could be a thicker or thinner and not placed at the exact center point on the shaft. Sounds of the driver are also different, I''ve noticed that older versions of the ERC II produce that annoying loud cowbell ping while the newer versions are more muted and less forgiving. Its a good thing that callaway have excellent customer service and they seem to give free things, or change and replace clubs really easily, thats because they probably know that their products could be below standard. Callaway should really work on their Quality Control and Total Quality Management, so they would stop producing so many defective products and their customer service department could take that large heap off their shoulders. Customer Service Excellent, friendly, helpful, always willing to replace defective clubs, no questions asked. Similar Products Used: None |

None LOTS OF CALLAWAY BASHING GOING ON HERE!! I purchase a Hawkeye vft pro series 8.5* driver with a factory tour stiff RCH shaft. This driver is awsome! The ball screams off the club face and it goes farrrrr. It looks great at address and feels great when you hit it. All this crapp about the use of this driver causing slices is total BS. As good as this club is, it cannot cure a faulty swing! Should you decide to buy one, purchase it on ebay. You will save big $$$. None Great club from Callaway. Thi sis the first Callaway I have owned and I love it. Two minor porblems (one of which can be fixed for about $100.00!! The shaft and forgiveness. The club seems to be very unforgiving on off-center hits to the heel or toe--nothing can be done about this. The other is the shaft (or should I say the fly rod they put in this thing). I put in a Harrison 2.5 SL (Firm) shaft, which is very similar in weight and this is an unbelievable combination. No...I still do not hit it 320 yards like those below but it is consistant and straight and has a wonderful swingweight and feel. Finally it is very spendy. Try to go to ebay FIRST. You can usually save a couple bucks. Customer Service Unknown Similar Products Used: You name it. Titleist, Ping, Taylor |
