This club has its merits, such as distance, but as a beginner, I found that I really had to nail the sweet spot to keep it strait. I had a hard time with the heel/toe shots as my swing is not yet whrere it should be. I found it unforgiving but when I connected, she went. Customer Service no need Similar Products Used: BBT454 10deg...I used a friend's who is a 80's golfer and hit much better with it. BBT454 9deg...too flat for me. |

Like the review ahead of me, if I had to make a decision on sound and feel, I would give this 3 out of 10, but distance and outcome it is a 10 out of 10. I have been on a search for the past 2 years for the perfect driver for me and my game. The search is over. My playing partner bought this driver at the end of the 2004 season and this year lowered his handicap from 8 to a 3. He has told me all year this is the driver for me, but the darn sound kept me away form it,until a month ago. I can for the first time draw a tee shot at will, fade one at will or hit one down the middle. A GREAT club, and I have gone through most of the top ones. I also like the head size, hate those 460cc ones. The one thing you have to do with this club is swing slower, it is lighter than most drivers, but it that not what all the Pro teach, slower back swings and power through at impact. Go get one they are wonderful!!! Customer Service Big Callaway user, and they are the best Similar Products Used: R7, Titleist 983K, Callaway Big Bertha 2004, Titleist 905T, and many more. |

At the moment I've only owned this for a week, 2 visits to the driving range and two evening practice strolls on the course doing 6 or 7 holes. Now, I'm rather bemused because if I was evaluating the club on the basis of the feel and sound of impact I'd think every shot had been garbage. But looking objectively at where my ball has ended up in comparison with where I am used to being on any given hole it's yielding uncannily good results. It's almost the opposite of my previous driver, a Big Bertha Titanium which often had me scratching my head at the lack of really spectacular outcome in relation to how well I had seemed to hit the ball. Somehow I'm having difficulty reconciling the FEEL of this club with the reality of often being several clubs closer to the green than previously (e.g. playing a soft 9-iron where I'm accustomed to needing at least a mid-iron). I have a suspicion that 9/10 golfers would quickly reject this club on the basis of it feeling (and sounding) just a little bit too different. The acid test of this club will of course be in how it helps me to lower my scores. I'm growing quietly optimistic on that score. Whether I can develop a sensual love affair with it may well be another matter! Customer Service Not relevant, bought it on E-Bay |

Absolutely the best driver I have ever hit. Long and straight from the first swing. I like the smaller head (could never get used to the 460cc monsters). Customer Service Bought frm CallawayGolfPreowned, and they are the best. Similar Products Used: Adams Redline, Callaway VFT, Callaway 454, Cleveland launcher 400 |

When Callaway gets it wrong - they do it in a BIG way. The Fusion Driver looks UGLY, sounds HORRIBLE and flys 15 yards shorter than ANY driver you have ever hit. The bottom line is that CALLAWAY want you to pay a premium price for a dud driver - ignore the hard reality of poor performance, looks and sound - and believe their glossy ads in a golf magazine. It seems that Callaway get carried away with themselves every 2nd or 3rd driver that they make thinking that they are now as good as Taylor Made, develop a "new start of the art" piece of sh**, and take a big tumble - abit like snakes and ladders 7 steps forward and then 7 rows down. While Callaway do get it right from time to time with the GBB range of drivers - this model Fusion driver and the C4 driver will go down in golfing history as the most laughable drivers of all time! Firstly, I need to tell you that I spotted a lot of copies (especially eBay). I don't know if a copy is any good so I plumbed for the real deal from an authorised Callaway dealer just to make sure I wasn't getting ripped. I ordered on the Thursday pm and it arrived am next day, just in time for a friendly 4 ball... I must say that it was an instant improvement! Looks good, feels good, and plays absolutely wonderful. I found the fairway more times than ever and out drove all three of my mates. I tried the following day, with the same results. I even started to get cockey by aiming for certain landmarks and finding them. I'm impressed and wish I had spent the money when they first appeared. A friend’s brother has one and never took to it though. Might not be for everyone but I had good advice and did my homework before splashing out. Customer Service Customer Service from American Golf was outstanding. They know, you know. It's their job. I tried a 10dg; they took a look and advised an 11dg. I contemplated for a few days then I took their advice and I'm pleased I did. I am happy to recommend them. Similar Products Used: I only tried the Nike Ignite and didn't set me ablaze. Tiger, it's all yours mate; you continue to do the magic you do with your tools and I'll continue with mine. |

Callaway ERC Fusion
I've been hitting my Steelhead 3 for about 2 seasons now and it's gotten the job done but it just doesn't get me off the tee that well. We played a match against another high school and a player on the team had the ERC Fusion with the Aldila Reg flex shaft (Not sure which shaft exactly.) I normally hit the ball about 26-275 with a power fade but the minute I hit the ERC fusion the ball just exploded off the tee perfectly straight all the way OUT of the driving range. I was close to tears as I had to give him his club back. Anyone with a fast swing and maybe a slight fade on their shot should buy this club. It added 25 yards to my drive and a lot of accuracy. It feels like your hitting a very solid but light piece of metal and there isn't a normal PING sound, more of a muffled boom, but who cares about sound when you hit the ball better? |

Thought I would check this one out and see if it was worth replacig my Big Bertha II. To be honest I did not care of this one. At set-up there is just too much going on down there. I prefer a more classsic look. Did not care for the feel of the club at impact or during the swing. Ball strike sounds muffed. I am not making the change. ERC Fusion 9.0 Aldila NV
Alright I recently went to Golf Galaxy and demoed there ERC Fusion Driver with a 9 degree Aldila NV shaft. I am 14 and about 5'9 140lbs and I was consistenly killing the ball 275-280 yards. My 454 Big Bertha is slightly longer but the ERC Fusion is so accurate. My swing speed was right in the 105 range and the stiff shaft wasn't too much. I was really hitting it solidly with a nice draw. I'm trying to decide between this and the 454. They are both good choses, and i can't decide.
