I have not had the experience with the FT-3 that many here have had. Additionally, nobody I have spoken with at golf ranges and courses has had anything positive to say about this club. Even golf digest- who is bought and paid for- rates this club low.

Callaway Fusion FT-3 10* Draw Aldilla 65 S-350
Absolutely the best driver I have ever hit in 25 years of playing golf. This weapon is a nuke in your arsenal waiting to explode! It will give you better results right away. Paid $225.00 on Ebay which was the best money I have ever spent on golf equipment. Customer Service Demoed this club at a Callaway retailer. Callaway FT-3, Aldila NVS Reg., 11* draw bias
Couldn't understand why the 10* neutral bias with NVS stiff shaft didn't do it for me with a swing speed at 100~105 mph. Typically up and away to the right, and maybe a little bit shorter than it should be. This club should be ideal...
Customer Service Never failed to impress - the Customer really is King. Similar Products Used: Cobra 454 Comp. (I've hit some monsters with this over the last 18 months)

FT-3 Fusion Driver w/ Aldila Green Shaft
I have been using the Callaway Big Bertha FT-3 Fusion Driver for no more than 2 days now, and I have seen a huge improvement in my accuracy and distance. I am now hitting the ball longer and straighter than ever before. Originally I play a small fade. So I went picked up the FT-3 with the Draw capability. Now, I am hitting the ball straight, sometimes with a small Draw, also something I have been wanting for a while. I recommend this Driver for players who fight any ball flight, Fade or Draw. You will find that you will be hitting the ball longer and straighter like I have been. The only downside to this club is the marketing price. It may be high, but it is much worth the money. |

I didn't ever see me writing a golf club review until I landed this weapon in my bag. All I can say is LONG & STRAIGHT. Okay, not every shot is straight. I'm an amateur!
Customer Service Top shelf! Used customer service years ago when my X-14 Pro-Series 4 iron shaft bent. Shipped club to them, they replaced the shaft and shipped it back to me. Similar Products Used: GBB II. |

callaway ft-3 9.5
Just got this club two weeks ago, and started hitting the best drives of my life the day i got it. I have a swing speed of about 110 and have hit a draw my entire life. With previous clubs(Ping G2/Titleist 983K) I hooked the ball constantly and never got much roll, though still averaged over 280 yards. With the FT-3 9.5 neutral, equipped with an aldila nv-65 stiff shaft at 44.5in., I'm carrying the ball over 285 and rolling it to 310(300 average). This, in heavy, cold air. I am also fading and drawing the ball at will with both getting the same distance. I can't say this is the best club for everyone, but it's worth a try. For the better player, i don't think you can do any better, though at $400 you may find another club at a lower price that performs just as well. One last thing: the sound the club makes is a relief from the ping sound of most clubs and I, as well as my playing partners, have more than just gotten used to it, we love it. |

A little bit about myself before I start. This will tell you whether this review applies to you. Took up Golf 2 years ago at the age of 39. I play by USGA rules so my score is legit. (No Mulligan's, Inside The Leather, Etc.) I have only broken 100 3 times so that does not make me a "90" shooter. I hope my review will help those new to the game and maybe even some veterans. When I first started playing, I had "the slice from hell" or as I called it "an extreme power fade". My driver was even worse. I followed Harvey Penick's advice and put the driver in the closet. After some work I was able to hit the 3 wood 250 off the tee and straight. During this time I tried numerous drivers but I could not hit any of them the distance and constancy of my 3 wood. I had purchased so many drivers in an attempt to surpass the performance of my 3 wood, to no avail. I went in into my local golf shop last week and they had an FT 3 on sale. I figured, "what the heck" I have tried them all and purchased this driver. (10 degree, Stiff) I took this to the range and to be honest it took some getting used to. In fact after my range session I was ready to take it back. I went back to the range the next day and then it was "coming together". My round Saturday included 3 of my all time longest drives. (285+) These were all straight, using the FT 3 driver. I cannot say that this is all due to equipment. If you are just starting to play this game (as I am) I would consider a 3 wood or 5 wood as your driver. By the time you have that mastered these clubs, the hot new driver you want will be outdated. And you will most likely be the better golfer for it. Just The Opinion Of A New Golfer Customer Service Great Similar Products Used: Excellent |

Callaway X460 Tour
I didn't see a category for the 2006 Callaway X460 Tour driver so I'm writing it here. I've used the FT-3 Fusion driver also. I've actually tried every driver out there. I would prefer the X460 over the FT-3 for two reasons. The first being the sound. While the X460 doesn't sound perfect either (too loud!!) it's much better than the muted FT-3 sound. It's so loud even if you don't catch it flush it feels like you hit it hard. The second reason is the price. It's $100 cheaper for basically the same driver. I chose the Tour model because I don't like the 2 degrees closed face drivers. This X460 is very forgiving and the distance is great. The trajectory was also very pleasing. It doesn't balloon or anything, pretty boring and penetrating. The setup looks better than the futuristic looking FT-3. I'm not the longest hitter but I'd rather choose accuracy over distance. This driver really hits it straight everytime. The look of the driver is also awesome! I love the concave like bottom. It's very stable at setup when you set the club down at address. I also love how they offer so many different shafts. I would definitely recommend this club to the scratch golfer to the weekend hack. Callaway is #1 is producing forgiving clubs. This club is probably the most forgiving driver I've hit. The distance is also great and the feel is awesome. Go try it out! Customer Service Excellent. FOR $275 BRAND NEW ON EBAY I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY TO KNOCK THE COBRA OUT OF THE BAG IN 2006. WELL IT DID HAVE IT WITH THE PROLAUNCH 10 DEGREE NEUTRAL AND ITS A KILLER FAIRWAY FINDING MACHINE JUST AS FAR AS THE COBRA WITH A LIL MORE ROLL MUST GET USED TO THE SOUND COMPARED TO THE COBRA BUT THAT WILL BE EASY. I have been an avid reader of this website but have been reluctant to offer my opinion. The reason for this is that no matter what you read having success with a particular driver is a personal thing. What may be a weapon in the hands of one person can results in woes for another. Regardless, I felt the need to provide my 2 cents worth on this particular driver. Having either purchased or demoed all the name brand drivers in the past two years this is the best driver I've played by far! I tried 7 different drivers on the launch monitor narrowing over a three week period narrowing it down to this driver. The ball explodes off the face with a medium high trajectory. The ball continues to soar without any ballooning with decent roll. The club is extremely workable either left or right with the proper swing. I experimented with finding the 'hot spot' on the face. Unlike other large drivers where the hot spot is high on the club face I found the optimum distance and trajectory exactly in the center of the club face. My swing speed is 100-102 mph and I found the 10 degree with the stiff shaft worked the best. Here's something I didn't count on, the 'draw' version provided the best launch angle for me. The launch angle for the 'neutral' version was a tad to high for my swing speed. Both had similiar ball flight of a slight draw. I've played over 20 rounds with this driver and my partners are amazed with the distance and accuracy I achieve with FT3. They should know, they've seen me swing plenty of drivers in the past two years! Again, this my not be the best driver for you but for me it was well worth the money spent. $399.00 is not too much to spend on a driver that keeps you long past your playing partners and it the short grass. Regardless of what driver you selecte take it from me and have the driver analyzed on a launch monitor. You may be just as surprised as I was with what driver delivers the optimum ball flight for your swing and speed. Customer Service Haven't had to use them and I hope I never will. Hate to think anything happening to this driver!
