ok, an update. i've been able to play the driver out on the golf course now and boy am i glad i made this purchase. i was starting to worry that i didnt take enough time but i hit it straight as an arrow, well, maybe not an arrow but i hit at least 75% of the fairways now, which is great since when i miss the fairway it's usually a pretty good lie. i think the extra high loft the shot gets from this driver decreases my distance about 10 or 15 yards, but the course has been wet so i havent gotten the roll i usually get so maybe not. still a great driver and highly recommended. Bought this club after Christmas have used it three or four times now and i'm very impressed.Quality club well made looks great and performs excellently. My driving has improved immensely and given me confidence on the tee box at last before it was a lottery.have used my father and brother's cleveland launcher's which i found good but not as user friendly. The aldila shaft is top quality and really makes a difference would recommend this club to anyone but especially to players with a high swing speed ,the club feels solid and makes a very impressive sound on impact.Mis-hits still go a long way,the ball flight is high so i would recommend buying the loft 1 degree less than normal, but still with plenty of distance.Got it on ebay for $82 what a bargain Customer Service haven't needed any Similar Products Used: nike ignite cleveland launcher 400 cleveland launcher 460 ram fx2 |

Ben Hogan C-S3 Driver 8.5* S flex
I bought this club after the third time swinging it on the range. Consistantly straight, long drives. Man, I loved this club as soon as I hit it. I've read that the club gives a pretty high trajectory so i went with a lower loft and it turned out to be a perfect fit. I went with the neutral version and my golf partner (who slices like crazy) went with the draw bias and we've both been hitting longer straighter drives. AND FOR THE PRICE!!! WOW. i got mine from a pro shop for $150 and my friend got his on ebay new for $90 (jerk) :) i highly recommend this club to anybody. man it's got to be my favourite club in my bag. I mean i took two days to pick my irons, but it took me two swings to pick my driver. One more little thing about this club. I hit it more consistantly and it's more forgiving which means that the VERY unorthodox swing i used to use to compensate for my hook is now back to a traditional nice set up!! Customer Service didnt need it Similar Products Used: callaway hawkeye vft and a few other 460cc drivers and the erc fusion |

Ben Hogan CS-3 10.5* Regular Flex
Alright. I have been an avid reader of these reviews, and have tried many (MANY) drivers over the past 3 years. I am here to say that this driver is by far the best (for me) and I am confident in recommending it to others. My problems in the past were a killer slice, and low ball flight. Much of these problems had to do with pride (and lack of good swing mechanics). I always had "Stiff" shafted drivers as I thought I had a fast swing. My swing averages between 96-106mph, which normally is out of the range of Regular Flex drivers. It wasnt until I tried the Hogan CS-3 with the Aldila NV-H shaft in Regular flex that I found out I had been wasting my time with all the others. I got the model with the Draw Bias, with a 10.5 loft. It has cured a lot of the old problems, and I am finally hitting the fairways again. Granted, this driver is no miracle cure for slicers, if you get too cute with it and try to be a long drive champ, you can still give your ballflight a nasty right turn, but still. 80% of my drives are now straight, or draws. In the past 3 years, I couldnt buy a draw if I wanted too. Distance wise, this thing is right in the mix with all the other top of the line drivers, only this one was less than $100 shipped, brand new in the plastic. My best drives before were 250-260, but were rarely findable. The Hogan is every bit that far, maybe farther with the roll, and I can play from the short grass. Saves money on lost golf balls too! So, to sum it all up, I have tried a lot of GREAT drivers, but none of them were for me. I loved my old Cobra SS, I liked my TM R580XD, but the Hogan with the right shaft for me is the keeper. I have never been fitted, but reading reviews from others, and comparing my swing issues and learning from what others have written pointed me in the right direction, and I am happy with the game of golf once again. CS-3 9.5, Harrison pro 2.5 shaft
have been going through drivers like no tommorrow to try to find the one that finally suits me and after about 3 years of chopping and changing i finally think i have found it it is yes the Ben Hogan CS-3. Where do i start well first of all it goes bloody high so to counter act that i put a Harrison Pro 2.5 s flex shaft, which in turn knocks the ball down alot and is now absolutly spot on for me it have the neutral bias so i can shape my drives either way and this driver is very moneverable in that respect all so the driver has a great feel to it, its not load like a cobra people may well think it sounds dead but it just sounds solid, distancewise wasnt really a concern for me as i hit a decent ball anyway but is about the same as anything out there at the mo but what makes this driver perfect is the fact it is very forgiving and is sniper accurate, i suggest you try before you buy but defenatly give this a go Customer Service never needed it Similar Products Used: ping tisi, ping tisi tec, taylormade 300 series, titleist 975 j-vs, cobra ss370, Mac burrows 400cc powersphere, ping si3, Taylormade R540xd, Ping G2, Ping G5 |

Ben Hogan Big Ben 9.5* Stiff
This is a sweet club with even a sweeter price tag. This club gets you the distance you need and the accuracy to help you shoot lower scores, with the avaiable options for Fade, Nuetral or Draw bias. I choose the nuetral club head which was best for me, this club is very easy to work in any direction needed. It has superior distance comparable to any very expensive drivers like the nike ignite. One thing negative about the club is the stock aldila NV-H shaft may not be sutable for lower swing speeds, I found that the ball goes to high in the air for players with low swing speeds(under 95mph) therefore making the club very enexpensive to buy since the low demand for it. This club is awesome the best I've ever hit. The distance that I got was about 15 yards more than my previous club a titleist 983, and it is way more accurate. Also the stock shaft on this club is sweet, I love the feel although I would change the color. The club feels pure and it has class, despite the "hip" green shaft Hogan clubs and Callaway have created a winner. I give my praise and say that I have only hit titleist drivers but have decided to make a permanent change to the CS3 a better and cheaper club. |

I've tried all kinds of drivers over the years and have never had a keeper like this! Got the 9.5 stiff with stock NV shaft in draw bias. Had read that ball flight is higher than usual with this so 9.5 is 1 degree lower than my usual. Tend to fade most drives so hoped the draw bias would straighten it out. Wow, this technology really works! Not that it's impossible to slice one with a lousy pass but typical drive goes straight as an arrow. Have used it for only 3 rounds on an unfamiliar course so don't have a precise sense of how long it is but seems to be as long as anything else I've hit. Great looking club with a real nice grip and you can really feel the clubhead which I like. It's great to finally have a driver I can step on the tee with confidence and know it's going straight. Lastly, this baby is a steal. Got mine on ebay for $84 shipped! Customer Service Great. Called with a few questions about loft and got prompt knowledgeable response. Got this bad boy for Christmas and I am AMAZED! I'm a bit of a club junkie and have owned or tried just about every driver out there. This is the first new driver I've ever used that has legitimately increased my drives by 20-30 yards and has also dramatically increased my accuracy. I'm using the 9.5* neutal head with the Adila stiff shaft. My home course is TPC Four Seasons in Los Colinas and I've played this course once or twice a week for 5 years. Between yesterday and today's rounds, I've set personal best, long drives on 9 different holes. My average drives used to be 265-280 and not always in the middle of the fairway. With the Big Ben, I've hit 6 300 yard plus drives in two days and they were all in the fairway!!! Even what seemed to be mediocer hits were 5-10 yards farther than "normal". I swear this club must be built to illegal tolerences. It's a very well crafted and nice looking club and it sounds like a cannon going of at impact. This is the smoothest driver I've ever hit... I've finally found a club that I know will stay in my bag for a LONG time. I also can't believe the price, my son picked it up on ebay (brand new, in the wrapper, with head cover) for less than $100.00!!! Customer Service No worries whith Hogan being owned by Callaway now... Similar Products Used: All of them... Taylormade 360 580 r7, Nike 400 450 Ignite, Cleveland Launcher 460, etc. etc.... |

CS-3 10.5* Aldila NV-H neutral, regular flex
I've had the Big Ben about 6 months (along with the C455 3 & 5 woods) and I have never been happy with it. My swing speed is average at 88 mph, but the stock Aldila shaft is slightly too stiff for me. Shots tend to be HIGH with zero roll, and if swung too hard, the club produces a slice. In addition, the swingweight was low, measuring D0. On the rare occasions that I got a pure sweetspot hit, I would get a straight, very high shot with no roll. My clubfitter thinks I need a 12* head with a 60gm shaft: not with this Hogan head, it already hits the ball too high. Talking to another clubmaker on the phone, he said he has seen several of these heads where the loft was actually 13* instead of 10.5*. Plus, I hated the sound. Definitely the worst sounding titanium driver I have ever used. Surprisingly, I really like the C455 fairway metals, which have the same shaft. I have switched to a Titleist 983K driver, 9.5* with a Grafalloy Prolite regular flex shaft, and I am much happier with its lower flight and added roll, as well as its better look and sound. I will probably have the CS-3 head removed and use the Aldila shaft with a component head, if I can find one I like. Customer Service not used yet Similar Products Used: Titleist 983K 9.5* |
