My wife bought me this club for my birthday for $140. It has a regular flex shaft, neutral bias and 9.5 degrees loft. First off, I think the face is too steep and hate the fact that I have to search my pockets for the longest tee possible each time. This club is not for a 14 handicap or under player who can already hit the driver. The club launches the ball too high and has zero feel or feedback. I can't tell the result of a shot until I look up. And distance is so variable, I don't know that until I get out to the fairway. There is no workability at all. Overall, this is a quality club and not a bad value for the higher handicapper, but better golfers who want feedback and like to work the ball should stay away.

Model Reviewed: Ben Hogan Big Ben CS-3 Driver (Neutral), Stiff Aldila NV Shaft

Great for intermediate player:

1) Head is not too big, not too small.

2) Long and straight

3) Stock Aldila NV Shaft offers great feel. One of the very few stiff shafts which I can feel the stiffness and control, yet still feel the clubhead and feel a bit of live in the shaft. A lot of stiff shaft feels stiff and dead for my swing speed which is at low 100 miles per hour.

Con - lacks a little bit of feel. A shot may feel ordinary but going long and straight, another shot might feel sweet and go not as long.

Overall, great for intermediate players who just want to bomb it out relatively straight.

Aldila stiff shaft good for mid-fast swingers who feels a regular shaft is too soft while most stiff shafts are too hard.

Callaway Big Bertha Titanium Warbird - excellent feel. I can tell if my ball is going to be a slight draw, straight or a fade immediately at impact, i can tell if i've caught the sweet zone or dead on the sweet spot, or miss both altogether. Not as forgiving as the modern Hogan driver though.

I got the club for x-mas. Liked the look, the price was right and I took a chance without playing it before hand. Cured my slice. Nice easy club to hit and I'm hitting consistently and much farther than my old no name driver. In fact I liked them so much I bought the 3,5 and 7 woods as well, all with the same shaft stiffness. A good product and price for a golfer who likely will be a low 90's guy for the duration.

Awesome...Hot off the face and very forgiving (or at least predictable which is even better).
Carries the entire distance in the air. Most people hate that because they hit it and see the crater in the fairway 5 feet from the ball. But in my mind if you're going to hit the ball 280-300 why would you want to hit it 230 and have it roll 70 yards? Now you're faced with the problem of not being able to carry a bunker or fly the trees on a dogleg. I do hit this driver at least 280 and I only hit my 8 iron 150 so I'm not the most powerful hitter out there. You really don't lose that much distance into the wind either which is suprising. I hit this driver farther into the wind that I used to hit my Ping Si3 downwind. Truly amazing.

Model Reviewed: CS3 9.5 Draw bias

This is by far the best driver I have ever hit. I am left handed and had the natural left-handed fade to the left. Thus club inspires confidence at set-up. When I miss with this club, I tend to pull it to the right- but almost never fade to the left anymore. I have the stiff shaft which is perfect for my swing speed. If you set up straight but still tend to fade-- the draw bias face will correct whatever swing flaw you have. Never hit it longer. Paid @ $90 delivered on E-bay. Best deal out there.

Model Reviewed: Ben Hogan C-S3 8.5 Neutral Stiff

I first tried the 9.5 degree, Stiff NV shaft combo, and although I really liked the feel and set up of the club, I did tend to baloon the ball up, and leak it out to the right on occassions. I also felt the shaftw asn't stiff enough for me.

I managed to find a 8.5 Neutral with a Graffaloy Blue Stiff shaft in it, which I now love! I was never a big club head fan until I tried this stick. It goes a long long way, and so long as you get the right set-up for your swing charachteristics and speed, it should go straight down the middle. I picked mine up on eBay for less than £100. Bargain for a top quality driver which, for me, outplays all other leading producers.

Model Reviewed: Ben Hogan CS3 driver

Have been in the driver wilderness for about 3 years and have tried them all but to no avail. Have been using a an old reliable 3 wood but still lacking the length i required.Recently made the decision to sort out my driver problems and again tried all the usual top brands but still with no consistancy. A friend recommended the Hogan CS3 and i think my problems might well be sorted. The ball flies off the face with a high flight carrying about 250 yds and then roll.I normally have a weak fade and went for the 9.5 neutral set up and am hitting it long and straight. This is a great club and i would recommend it to anyone especially seeing it is £60-£80 less than the other brands. GIVE IT A GO you wont be dissapointed.

I bought this club at Nevada Bob's for only $150, what a deal. After trying it out at the proshop on the virtual driving range I immeadiatly fell in love with it. I was trying it out along with a Big Bertha 454. The Big Bertha 454 was much less forgiving and got 10 yard less drives. I liked the Big Bertha Hawkeye VFT much more than the newer one

It didnt help my game at all. My dad's old Altima Gold driver went much further than this one. I lost about 15 yards off the tee and am slicing worse than I was with my old club. The best thing about this club is that it makes a really loud noice. And the noice isnt even that good in the first place.

I love this driver. I have a stiff shaft fade biased model. The Aldila NV shaft is the best I've played. This club allows me the opportunity to control the ball off the tee. I can open the face slightly to fade, play it straight or close for a soft draw. Other drivers I've used have been much more difficult to control. The driver does have a different sound off the tee but does not bother me in the least.
