Beautiful shaft (Aldila NV), stiff shaft feels good. It's loud. Did I mention it's loud? I use the 9.5 neutral, and explosive is not the word to describe the kick off the face - more like atomic. Used a KC 454 before this, and that was a waste of money - effective marketing, but Cobra has no bite. Highly recommended, especially noe that this model is being replaced - the prices are dropping like a rock. Got mine for less than $200 CDN. Customer Service Nomne needed, but the warranty is two years. Similar Products Used: Ping G2 King Cobra 454 Juggernaut 500 |

Very nice looking head and comes with a quality shaft . My driver had a Grafalloy blue regular flex shaft. The club is light feeling when swung. Accuracy is really good, distance is terrible. The ball flight is incredibly high. The ball starts off high and keeps climbing then plummets straight down. Roll is non existant as is workability. Impact sounds tinny and cheap and very loud. Also, the lie of this driver is significantly more upright than just about any other driver I've owned. I tried switching out the shaft to a stiffer Prolaunch Blue shaft with even worse results . The ball flight is now not just high but stratospheric. All in all I would only reccomend this driver to someone who has trouble getting the ball up in the air. The only real positive is that this driver can be found easily on Ebay for under $100. dam I wish I had demoed this first. Customer Service I got it on sale at a golf store and they let me trade in a old Calloway driver . Great customer service. Similar Products Used: Various Calloway, Adams ,TM and Cleveland drivers |

Ben Hogen Big Ben C-S3 Driver 9.5* Neutral Regular
Prior to owning this driver, I was using a Maruman driver(Japanese brand) that is too whippy & light in total weight for me. I just couldn't get the consistency and accuracy I was looking for after trying for nearly 5 months. So I decided to explore option for reshafting. The custom fitter recommended me to reshaft with either a ProLaunch blue 65 gram or Aldila 65g, both regular flex after hearing my problem. After considering the reshaft options (abt US$130), he suggested me to try BH C-S3 which is on offer at abt US$152. I was actually scepticle if Aldila shaft will suit me cos I always find it stiff and heavy from a few demos that I had before. Tried at indoor range and it was manageable. Then decided to re-try in open range - it gave me the kind of accurcy that I was looking for, plus forgiveness! Bought it on Friday and used it for the 1st time on green the very next day - 80% of my t-off landed on fairways (vs 20% using my previous driver)!!! The BH baby just go straight where I was aiming!!! Ball just popped up nicely with very nice ball flight and very good carry in the air. My spped is not very fast, probably 85mph, the 9.5* neutral regular suits me perfect. I finally found THE DRIVER!! I shot my lowest score so far yesterday!! I am really happy. Tho I only used it for the 1st time yesterday, I believe that it helped reduced 10 strokes off my total score due to the accuracy and better distance (about 5-10 metres) further than my previous driver. Oh, by the way, many reviewers had commennted about the sound. But I feel that it is actually not that disturbing. In fact, my usual golf partners actually commented - "wow, this driver really suits you - it's much straighter and really nice ball flight!! The sound is not the usual "ping" but still quite pleasing to the ears.." I hope above helps in your shopping for driver (if you are). Give it a try. Believe it will be worth it. Oh, the price also comes with a Katana golf polo shirt. It's really value for money (the promotion is in Singapore). Customer Service BH is an excellent product. But the service standard of distributor's (Pan West) sales rep is horrible. Only 2 of the sales rep (out of so many) are friendly and knowledgeable enough. Ben Hogan CS3 9.5deg neutral
After using this club for a lot of rounds I have come to 2 conclusions. Firstly it hits the ball too high and secondly, with my 90mph swing a stiff shaft is too stiff. I killed two birds with one stone by getting the club re-shafted with a graffalloy prolite 35 in a regular flex. Ball flight is now how I like it and the softer shaft suits my slow swing. Customer Service Work carried out by Graham Tonge of Frodsham Golf Club. As always this was first rate and done on time. |

In my previous review I stated that I hadn't hit this club on the course yet. Well now I have and I love it even more. The best part about it is the workability. I can cut or draw the ball at will, and that makes hitting the fariway a lot easier. The distance is great, I was afraid I would lose some compared to my G2, but i havnt lost any I can bomb this thing! Great club, after testing a number of clubs I finally found the right driver. C-S3 8.5* draw biased
I stumbled acroos this driver on sale at TGW and it just seemed like too good a deal to pass up. I liked the fact that the head was 420cc and the available draw bias. My previous clubs just launched the ball too high especially in windy conditions so I thought the 8.5* might be the ticket. It is for me! I'm getting drives out to 275yds now as compared to my typical previous drives of only 230-240 yds. It has a nice feel to it and does an excellent job of keeping the ball in the fairway. If I'm having a good day on the course, I find I'm even able to work the ball with it some. I haven't been able to do that with any of my previous clubs. This driver has a nice appearance and is very confidence inspiring. As always, its up to you to do your part with your swing, but this club will definitely reward you if you do! Also, the Aldila NV shaft is a great driving force with this clubhead. This is by far the best driverI have ever hit. After hitting a Hawkeye VFT 10* I thought it was time to get a new driver. Tried a lot out and this has by far the best accuracy and distance. I recommend this club for anybody. I will definitely be buying it now since it's only $150. For an average round I hit only about 3 or 4 fairways. It is by far the worst part of my game. The driver I had, the Ping G2, was great, but I had read that the Hogan is more accurate, so I tried it out. I did notice my shots going straighter, and my misses no going as far offline. I also went to a heavier shaft which helps accuracy. I also like this club because its not such a huge monster that looks stupid like some clubs. I dont mind the 460cc drivers, but a smaller more compact head gives me more confidence and is easier to square. As far as distance I don't think I gained any compared to the G2, although I've only used this club at the range I havn't been to the course yet. But I don't think I lost any either. The only bad thing about this driver is that you can't move the weights. But oh well, it's probably a good thing, neutral lets me work it both ways. The ball flight is pretty high, but I prefer that. I carry a 13 degree 3 wood, so if there is a big wind in my face, I can hit that club instead of driver. But in today's game all the distance is carry, so the higher ball flight is better. This driver is compact and accurate but still gets out there. Great club. Customer Service Bought it the day after it went on sale for 200 canadian, so the price was nice. Similar Products Used: Bought the G2 right when it came out. Used it all year. Great distance, but was hitting 20% of fairways with it. I tested the mizuno mp-001 with the hogan, and i thought the mizuno went the farthest and straightest when hit in the sweet spot, but it went no where and miles offline on a mis-hit. If you are scrath, look at the mizuno. |

10.5* stiff
traded a miz mp-001 9.5* eksar stiff. could not hit it consistantly. and i generated too much side spin. i had figured it was a problem only time and lessons could cure. bought the BH on closeout with aldila nv70 stiff 10.5* loft. took it out to driving range and was absolutely astounded at my results. using a smooth swing of modest speed i was consistantly getting 230-250 yd drives within an acceptable area. i was amazed. i progressed thru the bucket and was able to increase my distance some, but was still shocked that i, in all my inexperience was able to keep the ball in the air so consistantly. i imagine much of it can be attributed to the vastly better shaft than my mizuno. i also demo'd a cleveland launcher460, a miz with a graffaloy blue, and this hogan. the ball just seemed to come off the hogan much better for me. it does give a college baseball like sound though. i can live with it, since it's fair trade for such promising results thus far. Customer Service talked to 2 different reps @ BH and both were supremely helpful. i had originally purchased the BH in a 12* reg flex since the golf headquarter sales man had mistakenly told me the aldila shaft was a high kickpoint shaft and i would need the 12*. after talking to BH rep he told me just the opposite, and said the 10.5* stiff would be his recommendation for my current swing speed. (94-98mph) if i try to swing harder my swing becomes too inconsistant. Similar Products Used: used a miz mp-001 with eksar reg. very disappointed demo'd ping g2, cleveland launcher 460, miz mp-001 460 with graffaloy shaft. the BH just felt perfect for me. |
