I found these balls in 2005 after an article in the Wall Street Journal and just think they are the best value out there. To me they perorm at least as well as the Pro V1s off the driver and wedges. It different dimple configuation is a little unique I will grant you, but I really can't say enought good about them. The only knock I had on them was the first year these balls would scuff something fierce... But in 06 and 07 they seem to have fixed that issue.. Gert ball Great Price Hope the keep ant $29/doz.!! If I could give them 6 stars I would! Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Pro V1 and Bridgestone (nee Precept) |

I have to admit I was hasty in my initial assessment of this ball (as stated in a previous review). After playing a few more rounds, I found the Tx4 quite comparable to other tour-quality balls out there. While the overall feel doesn't give you the impression that the ball is jumping off the club-face (such as what you'd feel with a softer ball), the Tx4 definitely gives you lots of distance, with a medium to slightly firm feel. I've noticed that some of the softer tour balls, such as the Bridgestone B330-S, seem to leap off the club because they offer less resistance than tour balls that require a little more striking power off the tee. But that's a matter of feel, not actual distance. By developing a ball that offers distance and control -- while providing a firm but not hard feel -- Wilson has done a good job in creating a product that's competitive with some of the best names on the market. an excellent ball for the price. have been playing this ball and ProV1's. i got a few dozen of each as gifts recently. this ball is longer for me, spins better for my clubhead speed, and feels better off my putter, compared to the ProV1. it has drop-n-stop ability like the ProV1 with 7-iron or less club. i see no advantage the ProV1 has over this ball, unless you want to empty more cash from your wallet. all things being equal, given the choice to play this ball or ProV1, i'd play this one any day. I've played the following balls in the past 4 months: U-Tri Tour, HX Tour and Tour 56, Pro V1, Nike One White and Wilson Tx4 Tour. Distance wise, I think Nike One White and Tx4 Tour are the longest, followed by HX Tour 56, Hx Tour and finally U-Tri Tour. Last sunday I bombed a 310 yard drive, which is 20 yard longest than my average, to reach the green on a Par 4 with the Tx4.

If you play nothing but gigantic courses, and you're main concern is distance (and you don't mind a ball that's hard off the tee), then this might be for you. Maybe it's just me, but I found this ball feels like a rock or a lead weight -- it feels dense and sluggish -- especially on approach shots. If you hit it right on the sweet spot, and with the right club, it's OK, but I prefer balls that spring off the club-face, and that have a soft, light feel to them, even at the expense of distance off the tee or on the fairway. Also, for my money, and considering performance, the Tx4 is over-priced. It's already being discounted at Golftown, so I doubt this ball has been a big hit. If you're looking for a tour-class ball, stick with the tried-and-true: Titleist Pro V1 or the Precept U-Tri Tour (which is being discontinued). An overall outstanding ball. When I hit this ball flush off the tee, there is no question that it is longer than the Pro V1x I typically use. If I should miss hitting it flush however, it doesn't seem to get same length as the Pro V. This ball is every bit the Pro V equal in drop-in-stop into the greens. When I'm swing well, this ball give me an advantage over my Pro V playing partners. Similar Products Used: Pro V1 x |

This is the best ball I've ever played. It's long and straight off the tee(and I fight a slice). Feels solid off of mid to short irons and chips & putts well also. Played 27 holes with the same ball and it only had minor scratches. I highly recommend it Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Callaway HX blue and tour. This is great ball. For the price, this is the best ball on the market. I tried a dozen of these on a golf shop employee recommendation. The feel on and around the green is amazing. This ball is equal to, if not better than, the Pro V1. Similar Products Used: Titleist Pro V1, Callaway HX Tour, Maxfli Revolution |
