Great ball, but just so you know, if you don't generate around 105mph+ clubhead speed, you won't see any benefit. Actually, the ball will literally fall from the sky before the ball reaches it's apex. Stick with the Pro V1, you will hit it longer and it is also much better around the greens. As for myself, my swing speed is 116mph and I picked up 15 yards. The downside is it's made to be low spin off the driver which also means low spin off long irons. Unfortunately, that means if you don't have a high ball flight, you can expect plenty of roll with long irons. I have been alternating long irons and hybrid clubs depending on the course and the firmness. With this ball, I've pretty much ditched the long irons. On short irons, I generally generate too much backspin which makes the ball upshoot and not be able to get as much distance as I would like. The X helps me take off some spin which I like tremendously. If you want a great ball, with comparable distance, but a higher spin rate on short irons, try the Precept UTri Extra Spin. Great ball, but I generate too much spin on wedges with it. Definately would help the lower swing speed <100mph player. Hopefully, this review helps you. Trust me and don't buy into thinking this ball will help you if you don't generate the clubhead speed because IT WON'T! I was blown away by the performance of this ball. That was until precept sent me 2 packs of the u-tri balls with a survey to fill out.I must say the u-tri extra spin out performed the prov1x in every area. Feel, distance, durability, and price. I have changed to the precept u-tri extra spin the best ball I have ever played in my life. Similar Products Used: precept u-tri extra spin, callaway hex, hogan, |

Long off the tee, a lower trajectory for me. You can feel the cover is much firmer the the Pro V1 right out of the box. I was disappointed around the greens with the firm feel. I hit chips that I felt would be inches from the hole and they would release 4-6 feet further than a Pro V1 or Maxfli M3 Tour. Don't shortside yourself! I think it may be too big of an adjustment for me. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Maxfli M3 Tour |

Love this ball, with one exception - it is no where near as durable as the std pro v 1. The cover nicks with the 1st low iron shot hit with any force, just like the Hogan Apex Tour, and I'm playing forged clubs. Does not spin quite as well as the regular pro v, but I understand it's designed for higher swing/clubhead speed ( mine is around 100-105 max). HOWEVER, it is absolutely the longest ball I've ever played. Tremendous hang time if you're a high ball hitter. I hope they correct the cover issue so it doesn't cut quite as easy. Will still buy the ball for the distance. Customer Service haven't needed them. May email them about the cover. The Pro V1X is not a ball for everyone. First it has 332 dimples compared to the 392 that the Pro V1 has. This is to create a lower ball flight and help reduce the spin rate. Further, to get any distance benefit, a player has to hit it hard otherwise there is no gain. These things are all stated by Titleist about how the ball works. For me, I like the X because I can hit it about 20 yards further than the standard Pro V1 and I generate enough spin on my irons to have the ball hit once and stop with it. Around the greens, the ball will run more than the Pro V1 but knowing that it's easy to make the adjustment. It's a great ball for those in the category for which it was designed. Personally I like these balls a lot, but they are complimentary to the Pro V1. In other words if you're playing in wetter or slower conditions, these balls are great. They bite well off the irons and the driver distance is phenomenal. However, the are not anywhere as near as good around the greens as their sister. Much better than the cheaper balls, but the regular V1 will dance and spin. This one won't. Once you understand this and can play for the expected roll and/or lack of back-up spin, they're fine. They are definitely durable - moreso than most of the balls in the premium categaory. I guess I struggle with the price somewhat. I've had great results with the NXT Tour and while I've hit some long bombs with this, I don't see them as a full step better than the NXT class balls.
