I gave this ball a try not too long ago. Titleist truly made a ball for the stronger players. I wasn't succesful with the Pro V1 because the ball lifted way too much for me and it had a little too much feel for my preference. I wanted something firmer and something that kept a lower trajectory. I found it with the Pro V1 Star. This ball has the perfect cover for my game. I can spin it as much or as little as I want whether shaping the shot off the tee or spinning it on the greens. This is a good ball for the accomplished player, I wouldn't recommend this ball for just anyone, but rather for someone who knows their swing well. I still prefer the Maxfli A-10 over any ball I have used so far.

I have played both of the Pro Vs and read most of these reviews. If you have the clubhead speed to spin the ball, play the pro V1. If you have a lot of clubhead speed and generate a lot of spin, play the Pro V1*. They are both terrific balls. If you don't generate very much clubhead speed, then play an NXT. There's no reason to blame the ball if you can't spin it. Try some drills to increase your clubhead speed, then hit this ball again.

When 30 yards and closer from teh flag, there is only one word to descibe this ball......CRAP! It may be a pocket rocket off the tee but you cant spin this ball for sh_t. It just will not stop. People, stick with the orginal Pro V1. Titleist should pay attention to teh old saying: "Don't mess with success".

Pro V1* has a harder cover than the Pro V1. It goes further, less spin, and more durable. I perfer these balls to players who shoots in the 70's or lower.

I have tried almost every ball made because I am fundamentally fanatic about equipment. Anything to avoid responsibilty for personal failings. This is my number one choice. Long, soft, nice putting feel. I score best with this ball. Durable. I lose fewer than other brands because I seem to be more confident with it.
