NXT Tour 2007
Here's my 3 cents on this newer NXT Tour ball. I still like it. The NXT line has always been for me the poor man's ProV1 (NXT Tour) and ProV1x (NXT). To make a long story short, for me the 2007 NXT Tour ball performs more like a PROV1x-longer off the tee, but not as sticky into the green from any distance. The old NXT Tour was not as grabby as the PROV1. but would drop and stop, so a guy could calculate carry to the pin in a tight situation. Now the ball runs out which takes away that option when you are trying to stop it close to a pin tucked just behind a bunker.

I have tried this ball side to side with Callaway warbirds.Bridgestone E5&E6 Noodles and others and by comparison overall the NXT Tours always seem to be what I go back to.They fly long and straight. Some balls are slightly longer but off line.On wedges they seem to do a good job of sticking without alot of backroll. From my experience this is by far the best of the mid priced balls. This is a really great golf ball! It normally sells for about $25 a dozen new but if you're lucky enough a golf shop that sells barrels of "used" balls for $7.00 a dozen pick a few of these up! A lot of the balls I found were probably only hit once and were found and ended up in these stores...lucky for me eh? This ball is long off the tee and checks up really well around the greens...feels wonderful off the putter and is overall an exceptional 2 piece ball! Iron shots feel much cleaner and spin is pretty decent when you hit it just right..I love the characteristics of the ball on the greens..seems to roll pretty true and has a fair to middlin' "soft" kind of feel to me using my Newport 2...I may be biased but I like it much better than the ProV1...especially the "tour" edition...I hope these shops don;t stop selling these "recycled" NXTs but heck..I like them so much I would probably pay full price! Good all round ball.Played side by side with a strata tl tour and found the nxt tour was longer with the driver and slightly longer with mid-short irons. The Strata has a softer feel and checks up better around the greens than the nxt but once you get used to the extra roll of the nxt the distance advantage is probably worth it. Strata would be better on firm/dry courses. Customer Service na Similar Products Used: maxfli rev tour, srixon ad333, laddie, strata tl tour |

GREAT ball at a reasonable price. I don't have the swing speed for the Pro V1 or the other high priced 3 piece balls. Too many of us think that if it's good enough for the pros it will work for us! Wrong. Need a high swing speed to take advantage of the technology behind the 3 piece balls. If your swing speed is in the 90's or lower, a two piece ball is the answer, and this is as good as it gets in that category. I wish it would check-up a little better on the greens, but it is a SWEET ball in all other categories. Perfect for the player shooting in the 90's or higher. Similar Products Used: Maxfli A10, Noodle and Srixon 333 (good balls, although consistently shorter than the NXT Tour by 10-15 yards). |

This is a great ball. I picked up a sleeve at the local pro shop to try them out after seeing that they were the Golf Digest's editor's choice for value golf ball. These balls are LONG. I hit my two longest drives ever with these balls. They have a nice, soft feel on all clubs, but you can really notice it on putts and pitch shots. They check up well on the greens and you can get them to stop instantly and even spin back a couple of inches with a wedge if you hit them right (on average greens- i have not tried them on fast greens yet). Although they have good spin they will not hurt your hook or slice and do not balloon at all on drives. The spin is evident on pitch shot as the ball likes to get up quickly which helps it stop on the green as well as get over any obstacles that might be in your way. They are only pretty durable, but should still last you through one round. This is a wonderful ball for the money. If you are currently playing the Callaway HX Hot you might want to try this ball. It is just as long if not longer than the HX Hot (i have about a 90mph swing speed) but feels a LOT better and stops better on the greens. Give this ball a try and you will not be disappointed. It is a great value for the money. Customer Service have not needed it Similar Products Used: Callaway HX Hot |

Since they stopped making the Maxfli Revolution Tour, I went looking for a new ball. I figured, why not Titleist. I really did not think my game was worthy of a $4 golf ball, so I went to the NXT Tour. I was really disappointed. Hard off the tee and no hold on the green. They scuff very easily and the paint on the cover starts to come off after each hole. I had to change balls every other hole. I hate the new Red Max, and most other 2 piece balls. I guess I am going to have to ante up. I will try the Callaway HX Tour next. Similar Products Used: Maxfli Revolution Tour |

NXT-TOUR
This ball has everything.I've tried all the new balls under $40. The dual core NXT-TOUR is a much longer ball than previous model. Very accurate and putts like a lasor. Green side control is great, with a nice soft touch. If a box of $40 balls were given to me I would play them otherwise I'll stay with the NXT-tour. |
