I was kind of hesitant to use this ball as I thought all of the raves were hyped because of the Tiger Woods name. I bought a dozen because they were on sale for members at my local golf shop so I decided to give them a try. Boy was I wrong about the hype factor. From the first drive to my last putt I was amazed at the amazing feel of this ball off the club face. The fact that the spin is minimized off the driver and still get the distance that I am used to was awesome. Stops dead on the greens with the approach shots which allowed me to be more aggresive and fire at a few more flags instead of playing for the safe shot. Putts true. The only thing that I found that I have to get used to is how fast it checks up on chip shots, but now that I know that I can work on that and get that fixed. A truly amazing ball. This will be my ball of choice from now on. Pro V1 is good but I like this ball much better.

well all i can say is that this ball is amasing. it's basically a One gold but with a different dimple pattern. 4-piece balls are the way to go now. This ball is ridiculously straight and super long. At my local course there's a par 4 @ 321 yards, i drove the green =) that was sweet!!! anyways, i'd recommend this ball to anyone wanting to hit a truely LONG ball

Nike's "new" golf ball is similar to the updated One Golds that hit the market in 2004. The big difference I've noticed with the Platinum is the slightly softer feel compared with the One Gold. Because it is a little softer, it stays on the clubface a longer and, therefore, decreases some side spin. Ball flight is fairly high and stable. If you play firm greens like I do, you'll find that the Platinum holds greens well. I do have a few subtle qualms about the One Platinum though. For one, it checks up waaaay to quick on chip shots from the fringe. Also, I feel that it stays too long on the putter face, making it a little tough to put a good whack on fast greens. In case you didn't know, Nike has its balls produced from the Bridgestone factories in Japan. Having said that, if you want to avoid paying for Tiger's commission on the Platinum, just buy the very comparable Precept U-Tri Tour, which is about 10 bucks cheaper but missing a fourth layer.

Not needed. If you're wondering why you can't buy these balls in sleeves, it is because Nike has placed restrictions on golf shops everywhere.

Since my game has improved since last summer, and I don't use 6 or 7 balls a round I have been enjoying the more quality balls out there. I have been using the Pro V1 and liking it. However, I tried a box of the new "Platinums" and couldn't be more pleased. They stick like glue. I really like playing them because you can really chase the pins because they don't roll or bounce all over the place. Usually this is not a problem with Pro V1's but the Nike's seem to be even better. The distance and putting seem to be the same as a Titleist but the Nike's really grab, give 'em a try.

I bought a trial pack of this ball ($5)and probably would have never bought a dozen($40) to try these out. when i first used it on a par 3 w/ a 7 iron, i immediately could feel the difference. at impact, it was definitely a softer feel than other premium balls i've tried. also, the distance off irons and woods are longer. this has become my ball of choice.

This is among the best balls you can buy hands down. I've now played 4 rounds at 3 different courses, and am thinking that this is going to become my permanent ball of choice. Incredible distance off the tee, and yet has great workability with the irons. Even feels good off the flatstick. Durability is also very good. If you're looking at a solid performance ball, definitely give these a try, they're worth their weight in platinum (I coulnd't resist!).

I've played this ball at 2 different courses for four rounds. It flies like the Prov1x and has control like the Prov1. My favorite is the BH Apex tour, this ball has a good chance to take it's place. Need a few more rounds to see.

WOW!! This ball is awesome! It's a little harder than the pro v1 off the driver but not as hard as the prov1 x. Around the greens it bites like the pro v1 also. Soft off the putter face, and very durable. I played 1 1/2 rounds before losing one, and after ball washing still looked brand new. So wrap things up, like the pro v1 with more distance!!
