This is the best ball I have played bar none. No other ball combines workability/spin with distance better than this ball. Longer than the Nike TA and Precept TP. If you like marshmellows then this ball is not for you (try the soft blue). I love the crisp feel on puts for better feedback.
Pricy but you get what you pay for.
The Pro V1 is nice too but good luck finding them on a regular basis and expect to pay 20 bucks more.

Liked the balls. They have a big problem with paint and are expensive as a result.

I just played my best round of golf ever! nine holes with no lost balls, first shot pin hi two feet left of the pin! then the backspin pulled the ball about 15 feet back. oh well, putts are unconscious with this ball. every put goes in!

I use odyssey dual force wedges with the polymer insert and a white hot #2 putter. On this par three course the back spin was insane, an 80 yrd hole with the 60* spun back 30 ft to the pin. Putting with the white hot and the callaway ball was just lights out. it just plain goes in the hole exactly how you vision it!

I've tried other premium balls and lost several per hole, but these hit straight, putt great, and I've got to adjust my swing to reduce the spin back, which I have never been able to do before.

Excellent ball, good feel around the green, fantastic backspin, backed up 12 feet on a flat wet green with 8 iron.Holds its line well in the wind.Keeps its shape, but does mark up with short irons, but what quality ball don`t? Try the practice balls if you can get them, no different to the full priced balls. Good ball Callaway.Give five stars for the value of the practice balls.

Been a Titleist balata player for 20-years. At first I avoided the Rule 35 because of the Callaway brand, and because I was perfectly happy playing the Professional and then the Pro V1.

Well the Pro V1's have been hard to find, and after learning more about the Rule 35 I though it deserved a shot.

I am very happy I tried this ball. I tried the Blue and Red, and could tell very little difference except maybe the Red is a tad longer. This ball behaves well in a breeze, and the trajectory is average - not to high or too low.

The spin is GREAT. I backed-up a red with a 4-iron from 195 into a tiny fairly firm green. That's all I needed to convince me it had plenty of spin for me.

In comparison to the Pro V1, I'd say this ball is very close in nearly every way. In fact, I perfer the feel of the Rule 35 on full swings to the Pro V1. I probably prefer the Pro V1 for putting, but then I could always play the Blue ball which is closer to the Pro V1 in my opinion in feel.

Forget about the big goofy Callway logo and the game improvement brand. Just give the ball a fair shot, see if you don't like it too.

I know Sorenstam liked it plenty when she carded the first 59 on the LPGA Tour. If she can fire 59's with it, I'm sure it will work just fine for my 75's and 80's.

A tad expensive, but aren't all the premium player's balls?

I've tried everything new except for Strata Tour Ultimate and like most of the premium balls. When I weighed performance, durability, and price the Callaway Rule 35 red wins. This ball flies straight off the driver (not too much spin) but really bites well on the greens. I also think it feels great off the putter. Most people seem to prefer the rule 35 blue. I just feel that the red ball is extremely close to Pro V1 perfomance (if thats what you like) with the only negative being the paint chipping with bad shots.
Atleast these balls don't scuff real easy like some of the others (nike, Precept Tp...).
I was using a rule 35 red this past weekend and on several occasions a caught some irons real well and my playing partners thought I was using a balata ball because of the bite these have on approach.
These feel a little softer than Pro V1's but perform about equal maybe more spin into greens.

these balls suck for the money. they scratch way to easily. i find myself looking at the scratches, and i switch the ball in play too often. i dunno if other ppl have this problem w/ these balls, but they seem to scratch easily.

i wasn't gonna pay the sticker price on these balls until i had the chance to play them. fortunately i have a generous uncle who finds balls at the local courses. i have tried bothe the blue and the red and absoulutely love the blue. in the past, i never felt that a ball could make that much difference in my overall game, but this ball is different. the spin is phenomenol, shots that might hit the green and roll off, stay on, shots that hit close to the pin, stay close to the pin. they really aid in your confidence to fire at the flag. overall, they are excellent.

Callaway has done an awesome job with their first ever ball, i think that they night contend with Titleist later on down the road, but with the new Pro V1 on the hot list, it wont happen soon.
Anyway, Callaway's first project is a great ball, i like the firmfeel myself, great trajectory, and i can control it better, little long, not much, but the spin was what i liked, i can zip em, but i can stick em too!!

didn't want to like this ball what with all the hype but I have to admit that I just love the red...explosive off the tee and soft around the greens, great feel....don't care as much for the blue, feels a little gummy, still performs well though....because of the high price, Callaway can't sell any ball with a hint of a blemish, they go into the practice box, a great value at $20 a dozen....only wish they didn't mix half red and half blue....also like just two choices, not a whole lot of other nonsense (Titelist...)....love this ball...
