good ball. durable. little hard. goes longer for me than tour 56's. not very dependable greenside. if you like to go long and don't mind lack of playability around the greens give it a try.

After seeing the price and hearing good things about this ball, I decided to give it a try. I have been golfing for just a little while now but everytime I tee off, it goes straight down the fairway, until today! I don't know if it's the ball, or me, but I was hitting draw's every single time off the tee. After about 7 holes, I decided to go back to the Top Flite xl 3000, And back down the center I went.

I don't know if it was was this ball, or me, but I just don't think it's for me. Although it does work well on my iron shots.

I have always been somewhat skeptical, given my level of play, about paying more than $20 for a dozen golf balls. Enter the HX Hot....

While playing a round with my 21 year-old stepson (I am 55) and using the HX Hot, I hit 10 out 14 fairways with an average distance of about 250 yards (shortest 230, longest 300). On the back 9, I hit 7 out of 7 fairways. I am lucky on most days to get it out to 240 at the very best, and usually hit only about 5 or 6 fairways out of 14. I'm convinced the ball flies straighter than any other ball I've used (NXT, Titleist DT SoLo, Noodle, Precept Laddie, etc.).

Using the HX Hot also, my partner hit one drive 350 yards (personal best by 15 yards), though admittedly he has a 21 year old swing speed. The best I can muster is somewhat under 90mph.

This ball looks great as well. I echo the sentiment of a previous reviewer when I say that something as silly as cosmetics makes a big difference to me. The dang thing just sits up on the tee waiting for you to knock the tar out of it. I think the confidence factor is one of the more important things to me that determines whether I have a good round or not. This ball makes me more confident off the tee.

My short game needs tons of work. But I had no real issues with the ball regarding spin or not holding the green. I actually thought it was at least the equal of the NXT on several well-struck 7 irons I hit into the green.

Golf is SUCH an individual experience. All I can tell you is that MY experience (at my level of play) with this ball demonstrated a clear and discernable improvement in distance and accuracy that I found close to amazing. All of this with no significant drop-off in around the green performance.

I don't think I'll be trying any other ball for quite a while.

Like the box says, this ball is long and straight. I fight a hook and this ball definately reduced it as well as adding about 10 yards to my drives. I overshot quite a few greens until I got the feel of it. However, the ball feels like a rock when you hit it and provides zero feedback around the green. You might gain a few strokes driving this ball but will lose them all back putting and chipping. In my opinion, there are better balls out there for experienced players, but if you are a beginner, this ball is probably a good choice.

I decided to try this ball after reading the review in Golf Digest's Hot List. I usually prefer a softer ball but figured I would give this ball a shot.

I was very disappointed. The ball is not much longer than most two piece balls out there. They do not give you 20-30 more yards as some people claim. Also, the feel was harder than I could have imagined, almost like a Top Flite! Regarding spin, the HX Hot spins as much as most distance balls. Callaway is honest about that right on the box.

As for accuracy, the ball does fly straight.

For my game, this is not the right ball for me, but those who prefer a firmer feeling ball may like the HX Hot.

These balls are great, and for the price ($24 per dozen) they are better than great. I would defy anyone to produce a ball in this price range that is as long or durable as this ball, while also not feeling like a pellet when you strike it.

As far as the accuracy, these are long & straight, and off of the driver reduce the spin enough to turn the worst of slices into gentle fades. I am not sure where "Hacker Andy" came from earlier in blaming the ball for going in the woods, as that has to be an alignment problem if it's happening consistently, or perhaps the fact that the balls are call "HOT" is causing him to over swing.

Not the greatest around the greens, but hey, neither am I, so we compliment each other perfectly.

The ball gets the job done, and the average weekend golfer can reduce their scores by hitting more fairways and getting it out there 10-15 yards more. We aren't swinging hard enough or properly enough to impart the spin required to back the ball up like Norman at the Master's anyway, so playing this ball and balls like it are where we all should be. Throw a $20 bill into your kids 529 account everytime you have to re-load, and the kid can go to Princeton.

Great ball.

Haven't had to use them for ball related issues, but Callaway is the cream of the crop.

This ball is a GEM. I'm a long baller for my age group. I break the 300 yard barrier often when I'm really swinging and that's where the HX Hot has been a GodSend. Like most long ballers who shot in the 80's I'm not always in the fairway. With most balls I'm often scrambling to get my drive back onto the course from the woods :-). The HX Hot keeps me closer to the fairway and that's all I can ask. Its Low Spin rate is great off the Tee and the feel off the irons is good. It's no spin ball by any means but it hold the greens as well as anything else that I've played. So for the price I'd buy a Dz if I were'nt a ball hawk who plays all the top brands that I find while looking for my own bad drives. I don't find many HX Hot's so I keep them for those special rounds when the skins are high. This balls is a performer and most mid range handicappers would benefit by playing this ball.

I had to try it. I like to try them all. This a good ball, not a great ball. Good distance and flies straight most of the time. Some bite; not much. I've played many $20 balls that are just as good. For a few dollars more you can get the NXT's that feel better and go just as good if not better.

I encourage you to read some of the reviews of golfers who are reporting interesting distance gains with this ball, especially with iron play. I played two rounds this weekend, one with the HX hot and the other with the HX tour. I was flying either over greens or to the back of greens with the Hots. They are super long. On a particular hole a 430 yard par 4. I hit driver and then a pitching wedge over the green. I swing right at 98-100 mph, but on a hole this long, I'm usually driver, six iron, maybe a seven. Certainly not pitching wedge. I was hitting 150 yard nine irons and 125 yard gap wedge shots. Ridiculous for me. The spin is average. I noticed a 5-10 feet roll out after impact. A wonderful distance ball. None come close to it, not even close! Accuracy is a different thing however. I did notice that when I visited a Roger Dunn outlet, that the HOTs were completely sold out. Interesting! These will not be kept secret for long.

great distance, horrible feel on approach shots. I decided to try a harder "distance" ball with my new driver. Again, the distance was great, however approach shots generally hit and rolled way too much. I have not yet perfected my backspin, so having a harder ball is not the answer for me.
