Bridgestone E5 Balls

Bridgestone E5 Balls

DESCRIPTION

The Bridgestone Logo e5 Golf Ball has a new dual dimple design for increased distance. The e5 is engineered for control and distance. The new e5 delivers consistency on the green because it is the only 2-piece urethane cover ball on the market, which provides the power of a large core with the control of Tour-proven urethane. New Dual Dimple Technology also provides improved distance performance and the inside dimple works to increase thrust power at launch while t

I really didn't want to like this ball. I was sorely disappointed when the Precept U-Tri Extra Dist was discontinued. This was supposed to be the ball to replace it. My first round with it I really was unimpressed. I tried it again later and have come to love this ball. It responds when you step on it and has lots of spin and checks well. The fact that it doesn't cost $45 is the deal maker.

This ball is sneaky long. Feels great off the driver with a soft feel at impact. Good feed back off iron shots & holds well on approach shots. I was able to work the ball a bit but not as much as the HX Tour or Pro V1, but nonetheless, it performed as expected. Also, the feel off the putter was soft & rolled off the face nicely. The ball is not for everyone. If you slice or hook the ball, stay away from this one. It could really make things worse. Give the e6 a try. Overall, this is a great ball for the price & I rank the e5 near the top in its class.

I tried this ball based on a magazine endorsement and the reviews here and was not impressed. I have tried a lot of balls to try and find my best fit and I usually don't notice much of a difference, but I was definitely, consistently shorter with the e5. At my level, I can't really afford to sacrifice distance. And I didn't notice any other benefit from using it like the others have mentioned.

This is a very interesting ball. Most premium balls that spin as much as this one are 3-piece construction, whereas this ball is a two piece. The advertising is spot-on though, this ball can REALLY spin. I've gotten about 6 feet of back-up on this ball (which I don't normally get back up at all) one my full wedge shots. Off the tee, this ball is great for people who like to always work the ball. However, if you can draw/fade a ball like the Precept Laddie (or other balls that aren't reputed as high-spin balls), then this ball can quickly turn that draw to a hook or fade to a slice. If you tend to work the ball all the time, you can really rely on this ball to react to your swing.

Also felt that my swing speed is a bit too slow to really compress this ball...don't think I witnessed the distance potential that this ball has. I still rated it high b/c it is an excellent quality ball (even if it didn't fit my game).

See my other review on the e6 (my new ball of choice).

Ball testing junkie says try this ball. I extensively compared this ball to other similar 3-piece balls (Nike Ignite, Callaway HX-Hot, Wilson PX-3) I bought a box of each and played a several rounds with each. The HX-Hot was longest, but not by much, maybe 5-8 yards. The Ignite was the longest off the irons, and the Px-3 felt the best chipping...until I tried this ball. It is WAAAY softer than the other 3 I mentioned her. Believe it or not, it was as soft as the DT Solo. Way softer than the Noodle, Red Max, Mojo, NXT, Big Bertha, etc. Long, straight, predictable distances with irons, checks up like a tour ball. Get a sample pack and try them - if you don't agree - post a review here telling everyone how off base I am. If your wondering how this ball differs from the e5, read my e5 review.

I tried the e5 two ball pack and was very impressed. The ball has a soft feel and jumps off the club. The trajectory was high but the control was great on my fades. I am a Maxfli Noodle user and this felt similar but I had better control. I always hated the Precept, but this e5 is a MUST paly ball.

I tried a two pack sleeve of the e5 and the e6 so i'll give the e5 review first. the ball is great. there ya go that's my review. actually the ball is great, it feels like it sticks to the club head for maximum compression. i was worried i'd slice the heck out of it because of the more spin you get off the driver but i actually had more of a small draw to my drives. the ball is long and straight all day. feels great off the irons, and great off the putter face. checks up really well on the greens too. best of all, i've played two rounds with these and havent lost one of these balls yet, which is a miracle, i usually lose at least 1 ball a round. i think i've found a new ball!

Customer Service

bridgestone was GREAT. i called and asked for a 2 ball sleeve to try and they dropped one off at my golf service center free of charge to try (and even a sleeve of the e6 for comparison)

I tried a sleeve of E5 ball yesterday. The E5 is a great ball off of irons. Off of Short irons and wedges, ball checks up and stop. Hit a some half wedges and ball looked like it took one hop and just stopped - Very cool !

Great feel off of putter and hence I made some nice 10 footers.

As per the ball's marketing, this ball does seem to produce more spin off of the driver. Ball flies high and carries long. However, it does seem to produce more sidespin off of the driver producing some interesting slices and hooks. Keep in mind that I shoot in the nineties and my driver swing is still inconsistent. I think the E6 will suit my game better - Less driver spin.

Once I my driver gets a little more consistent, I look forward to using this ball again.

I give this ball a high rating because I think it will be a great ball for me once my driver swing gets a more consistent. From the little experience I've had with Premium balls, this ball feels just as nice as a $40 /doz ball.
