This ball feels a little harder than the pro v 1 black. The paint flakes a little, but the ball still stops when struck well into a well maintained green.

Ball for ball this one rates right up there with the best of them. Long and soft with very good spin. At one time it was said that these were the same as Nike One(true or not?).

I have Hogan Tour Deeps in my bag and I think they're really awesome hands down. I wanted to do a practice round in a regulation 9 hole so I thought of using a reload box of 12 of used Apex Tours which was more than half the price of a brand new Tour Deep box. I was surprised by the length, feel and spin of this ball. I teed of on a 280 yard hole and ended up 3 feet from the cup! I thought that I might have teed off a little lower which means that the ball didn't spin much with drivers when hit properly. My wedge shots stopped when they dropped and I think this ball actually spins more than the Tour Deep. It's a pity Hogan stopped making this ball. I still like the Tour Deep all around but who knows I just might tee off with the Apex on my regular Sat games with my golfing buddies :)

I have always struggled to impart much spin around the green when chipping but I have finally found a ball the does it for me. I have been using pro v1 for a year or so and i am impressed with there overall performances. But i would have to say the apex tour is longer and spins alot more. They realy grab and back up hard on the short irons and are great around the green. If like me you are looking for a bit more spin gives these a go. they also wear realy well

I have been playing for about 3 years now and havent played as much as i would like. saying that i have tried most of the premium balls with these being the best so far. i can from time to time sneak the ball past 300 on my drives and these will only make that easier. i prob average around 280 or so. they have a fairly flat trajectory that i like, they seem to cut the wind fairly well. i can work them with my irons at will, they spin nicely for me. that being said i dont think they are the most spinning top like balls out there but they stick and moonwalk for me. they are alittle firm on the green but i do like the sound of the putter face. i found some logo overruns for 17.oo a dozen and esspecially for that price you cant go wrong.

Everything you would want from a golf ball. Good distance, soft feel, very durable, and great spin! Played w/ the Apex Red yesterday for the first time ever and i was extremely pleased. The balls lasted the whole round without a mark. I normally go through 2-3 balls a round because i tear up the covers w/ wedge shots. The Apex was also very good around the greens and reacted great off the tee. I was also able to spin a few full shots back 5-7 feet. Too bad they no longer make this model. The Apex Red is WAAAAAAAAY better than the new Tour Deep.

I must start out be saying, EBAY IS MY FRIEND! I would never have "invested" $40 into a dozen of any balls at my level. But I have tried a few premium brands at between $1-$1.50 a ball. That's a price I can live with. The Hogans are an excellent ball. Off the tee they're long enough (around 230-250 for me with the occasional 280). Off the irons they're awesome...if you do your part. Just strike the ball with a decending blow and the ball will take care of the rest...sticks like glue and it'll back up if you, again, do whats necessary. Putts great. Durability is much less an issue when purchasing these on Ebay...you get the technology of premium balls for a fraction the price. The RED version seems to handle better around the greens for me.

Let me first say that I love the way the ball reacts. Soft feel, high spin around the greens for great short game shots. However, I'm not loaded with money, and that's why the Apex Tour's are not for me. On the course, I hit the ball very straight, so I don't lose many balls. Even so, I go through a sleeve of Apex Tour's every 18 holes because of the scuffs and wear on the cover. After just six holes I throw the ball into my practice bag and move onto a new one. In contrast, I can usually get a full round or close to it with the ProV1. The values of the two balls just do not stack up even though the V1 costs more and the performance nearly identical. Simply put, Hogan, if you improve that cover you would have one satisfied and loyal customer.

Ball is probably as scuff resistant as V1, and probably spins a bit more than the V1 as well. Distance is good, feel is great, but I like a ball to feel soft. I like putting with them too, but overall I must say I won't be sticking with the ball for the long term. I think the Maxfli Rev Tour is just as good for $10 less a box, and more importantly the Hogan just balloons too much when I don't strike it well. Particularly in the wind. I guess I'm just not good enough to play this ball. I hit a fade on most shots, and this ball can too easily turn into a slice....sometimes NASTY! I haven't played the Maxfli's yet enough to determine if I can stick with them, but so far they're better than Hogans or Pro V1's for me and my fade. I'm looking for the perfect ball that maintains a good boring flight like a Noodle, but with the spin and feel of a Tour ball.
