BELIEVE IT!!! This is a great device. If you are skeptical about it being a gimmick (I was at first), don't be!!

First, the training grip forces you to grip the club properly. I have experimented with a baseball style, overlapping, and interlocking grip but have never been satisfied with what I came up with. One grasp of this club and it showed my that my self-taught grip was wrong.

Second, by doing the drills with this club you develop a proper backswing, downswing, and "square club face" impact through the ball.

Finally, since the weight of the club is 3 times as heavy as a regular club, you increase your clubhead speed when using your regular clubs.

In summary, proper grip, backswing, downswing, impact, and follow-through coupled with increased club-head speed results in the straightest most consistant shots your game has ever seen.

The day before I bought the club I was at a driving range and was lucky to hit 3 balls in a row solid and straight. My first day with the Momentus I was hitting 8 solid shots out of 10. An amazing improvement in practically no time at all.

Bottom Line - AMAZING, worth every penny!!!!

Oh my god this is THE best swing trainer on the market right now without a doubt. I got to use this club at a driving range at a local golf course, and i was stunned! just with 10 swings of the momentus, i hit the ball a good 20 yards farther. since the club is weighted the way it is, it makes uyou swing the club perfectly. dont ask me how it does it...it just does. when i switched back to my driver, i had an effortless swing. this was probably because the club is so much heavier than my actual driver. anyway, i went and baught the momentus, and ive been a happy customer evr since.

After using the Momentus this past summer, I decided to buy one for myself. This is the best training device, for it exercises the fine muscles needed in the upper body as well as the wrists, and cures faulty backswings. The Momentus also helps to establish the proper swing plane in which one whom is using the Momentus will know if their swing is over parallel. I wish I could have bought the Duval Signature Traveler Series which is the same length but 8 oz. heavier. This is an essential training aid for aspiring golfers as well as junior golfers to ingrain proper swing as well as alingment.

this is a good product but totally overpriced- I went to the local hardware store and picked up a 5/8 threaded steel shaft (36 inches long) for $8 and put a golf pride tour velvet shaft on it for another $5 - it weighs approx the same 40oz and cost a fraction of the price - another advantage of the homemade version is that you can add additional weight by buying nuts and screwing them on

I was long interested in a Momentus but put off buying one because of the price. On ebay, I came across a Momentus "style" swingtrainer and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I have practiced with a Momentus many times in the store, so for me to say that my swingtrainer is an exact match, believe it. The weight is evenly distributed down the entire shaft. Due to the weight, you get a very real sensation of the club finding the proper swing plane. The muscles involved also get a terrific workout, I actually feel a "pump" in those muscles. Also, the weight encourages a more free wrist release through impact.

In summary, due to the substantial weight, I have found my swingtrainer to very effectively ingrain a proper swing plane. This, combined with the strengthened muscles involved, has helped me to achieve a stronger and more repeatable golf swing. My fades have turned to draws and my frustration to satisfaction. Has it been simply because of the swingtrainer? No, but its effects have gone a long way toward putting me on the right path. I highly recommend it, both for the novice and more accomplished player.

This training aid is AWESOME! My iron shots are much, much more crisp. And straight as an arrow. The Momentus really teaches you to swing on plane, and to use the right hand to push down on the club. I had actually added distance as well. I just smoked a 9-iron 180 yards (although I did have a slight 5 mph wind at my back). The Momentus definitely builds the "golf" muscles needed to swing the club with consistency. My drives are straightening out as well. I really enjoy the swinging the club. The video which accompanies the club is easy to follow and helps as well. This is just a great club/training aid. I highly recommend it.

Like the other reviewers I was concerned this was nothing more than a gimmick. Its not a gimmick. I bought it, followed the suggested practice for three days before I actually hit a ball. When I did get to a driving range I could feel if my swing wasn't in the right groove. My shots are straighter, and just a tad farther. I cannot wait to get a round in!

This product is much better than the swing magic. Not only will this device help increase your distance, the weight of the club with help prevent slices. My 7 iron distance increased from 150 to 160 yards and pw from 120 to 135 and my slice is gone.
