Model Reviewed: Momentus Swing Trainer with Molded Grip

I typically shoot 110 - 120 (scoring honestly and not taking mulligans). I struggle with my short game, but can drive the ball 225 yards. Basically, I have several problems with my swing that I have fixed but still struggle with. How it helps: 1. Coming Outside-In across the ball, causing a slice. Basically the momentus teaches you to bring the club in a straight line away from the ball and come through the ball in a straight line. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH OUTSIDE-IN OR INSIDE-OUT SWINGS, BUY THE MOMENTUS. It will cure you. The club is well balanced so that when swinging on plane, the club is lighter. If you try to get off plane, the club gets heavier and disrupts your swing. The club fights against you to stay on plane. It's pretty cool. 2. I struggle with finishing swings strong (ie. weight transfer, hip motion.) Because the club is heavy, it carries you through. It forces you to finish the swing because of the momentum it's carrying. 3. Because the club is well balanced, it feels good (ie. not as heavy) when you are in the right place at the top of the back swing and if you are not, you will feel the unbalanced weight. 4. My swing speed is in the 60's. It's like a medicine ball in basketball or weights on a baseball bat. It will make you stronger and make you swing your clubs harder/faster if you practice with it over time. Things it does not help me with: 1. I struggle with dropping my shoulder, hitting the dirt behind the ball. Because the Momentus is supposed to be swung 3-4 inches off the ground, it's not helping me maintain good posture. I can drop my shoulder, bend my back knee, whatever, and I really won't have known I did it with the Momentus. 2. The molded grip is ok. Doesn't fit my hands well. I might have rather just not had it. I do not interlace or over lay any of my fingers and this grip was not made for that. Overall, I love this product for correcting certain types of problems, but it's not a cure-all.

Model Reviewed: Momentus Iron

I bought the regular 5 iron, and after a week I'am was hitting the ball straighter and farther than before. I swing it 50 times a day. I also purchased a weighted "swing sock" (Tour Weight) and put that on the club, what a difference, a big increase in power went from the 90's to the 80's in like a month just have to work with it everyday though.

Really good training aid!! It helped me with a consistent swing. I went from an out to in swing to a penetrating draw. The only thing is you have to have good fundamentals(Posture, tempo and alignment)to succeed, which I think that is why people who did not find succees with it. Good training aid. P.S. I think David Duval should go back to using this and also go back to Titleist.

Wow what a great product. This club is straigtening my over the top move I have grooved for years. It is easy to use and will instantly give you the feel of how you are supposed to get in the slot. I am really confused by the people that did not like this product. Yes your own clubs will feel lighter IMMEDIATELY after swinging the momentus but IF YOU WATCH THE VIDEO it will tell you how to transition back to your club easily. For anyone that does not have a great swing this is a great club. I have only used it for a week and already feel it is helping my distance (maybe because my club path is getting fixed? Maybe because of the weight?)

I won a gift certificate to Nevada Bob's as a door prize at a golf tournament, and spent it on a couple of training devices. I've used the Momentus the most, about 4 times a week for the past month. Since using it, my bad swings are less frequent, and not as bad. I'm also swinging a little slower most of the time, although the power is there if I want to really launch one. Results? I broke 80 for the first time last week, after playing golf for 30 years. Works for me!

I used this club for a few nights and it felt like it was working very well. I went out to play golf 4 days after purchasing this and the club felt too light and my swing was too fast. My tempo was off all day. I stopped using the weighted club and after about 4 days, my tempo came back and I'm swinging ok again. Not sure if it cures slices as I never slice...only hook. I bought this purely to gain strength, but it didn't work for me

I got the Momentus last Christmas, and seeing how our winter was so long this year, I swung it consistently. I must admit that is actually built up some of my muscles. BUT, I went down to Florida for Spring Break, and when I swung a club the first 10 or so times, it felt like I was swinging a twig. It felt so light and my swing was so fast because of it. Also, the momentus' weight slowly but surely made my swing have a much flatter path. That produced a pull, or even worse, a snap hook. If you use the momentus, make sure you make an effort to develop a more upright swing plane. Yes, the momentus cures slices, but for my case, it made my straight shots into horrible pulls for awhile. So, in conclusion, this isn't for everyone.

I purchased this club to help with my swing. I have been hitting the ball very inconsistantly this year (i.e. sometimes right, sometimes left and sometimes down the middle). Based on their advertising, I expected the Momentus swing trainer to help make me more consistant. Well it actually did but not in a good way. Let me explain. I didn't play golf for 2 weeks straight but I would swing the Momentus club about 3 times a day every day for those two weeks. After swinging this club for two weeks I went out to play 9 holes on league night and had a slice that has taken me over 4 weeks to correct. I never and I mean never had a slice like this the entire time that I have been golfing. After having the club for about a month, I took it back where I bought it from for a refund. I wouldn't recommend this club for anyone looking to improve consistancy in their swing unless you're looking to develop a wicked slice.
