This club is great! The next review is also mine but I made that review after playing with this club only once. I have now learned how to hit this Vokey and it dominates. I still do hit it a little high but the club puts a tremendous (i mean a tremendous) amount of backspin on the ball! I now aim right at the pin because I know that where the ball comes down it will not roll more than a couple of feet. This club is outstanding, forget my next review, with my Vokey I dominated the course, this club is a must buy!

I ordered the vokey together with my custom fitted 990's but found that the wedge wasn't properly fitted. The inch longer I need on my normal clubs makes the club way to heavy for shots which require a lot of feel!
In my opinion the RTG and Wilson wedges are better because of a better weight balance and sharper clubface (the 14 degrees bounce is needed here in holland because of the soggy weather).
The club did seem to get a lot better after I topped off half an inch but give me the RTG anytime..

I HAVE NEVER HAD A WEDGE LAND SO SOFT OR STOP SO FAST. YOU CAN SEND THEM RIGHT AT THE PIN WITH CONFIDENCE. EVEN SHORT LITTLE FINESE SHOTS ARE AWSOME.

Model Reviewed: Titleist Vokey 252.08 and the 258.08

If you've read my other reviews on golf shoes, you know that I clearly separate objective facts from my own personal observations. Having just ordered a new set of Mizuno Com EZ irons (review will be submitted shortly after extensive playtesting), I decided to invest in some wedges as well. Upon perusing the reviews on wedges here at this website, I decided to give the Titleist Vokey wedges a try. I must admit that all the hype about these wedges, as well as the numerous perfect score "5"s given on this website, raised my curiosity and interest. Since my Mizuno irons came only with a pitching wedge (46 degrees loft), I definitely needed a gap wedge and a sand wedge. I purchased the Titleist Vokey 252.08 and the 258.08. Given the hard-packed sands, fairways, and tight lies found on the golf courses here in the formidible New York/New England area, I needed wedges with relatively little bounce. The ground and sand is so firm that there is little need to have a bounce guide the wedge -- what you need is something with little bounce to "scrape" the ball off the ground.

The hype and rave reviews on these wedges are all true! These wedges are phenomenal! They wedges are perfectly weighted. The heads give a solid, yet soft feel; the steel shaft is stiff enough to give solid, accurate, controlled shots. Ball flight trajectory is as expected - a piercing ball flight that sticks the ball where you're aiming. The sound the ball makes when coming off the head has got to be heard to be believed. Pure, crisp shots. As for its appearance, these wedges have a very classic look, both at address and in the bag. Nice amount of chrome to keep these wedges looking sharp and elegant.

Note: like any golf club, get these wedges adjusted accordingly to fit your swing properly. I had to get my wedges' lies adjusted by 3 degrees flat to get the right fit. Also, the face of these wedges tend to scratch up the surfaces of cheaper balls (like those used at a golf driving range).

I know its been said before by many others, but I'll go ahead and say it again: go out and buy at least one Titleist Vokey wedge. If you don't like it, you can always return it. However, you simply must try these wedges. You'll be glad you did.

New to the game, I wanted to own something with the Titleist name. Did quite a bit
of research and am still curious about the Cleveland wedges but found the "feel" of
the Vokey to be right on. In my golf infancy I've discovered this to be a very sound club. Bunkers are not feared and anywhere from 85 yards in I feel like I could stick
the ball near the pin. As another reviewer said this club meets my attack and lob wedge needs as well. Thumbs up!

I have tried all of the best wedges (Cleveland, Ping, Snake Eyes, Ram ) but none of those are even close to a Vokey. This club is so versatile that I dont use my 60 degree anymore nor do I need a 52 degree. I close or open the blade as needed and that is all!!So much feel and precision. What a club!!!

When I started golfing about 7 months ago, I had a cheap starter 3-PW set. After reading through tons of magazines to improve my game, I realized the easiest way to break 100 is to focus on the short game. I set out to my local golf range and asked them about wedges. The guy told me that the Vokeys are the best wedges on the market, and he didn't lie. The soft feel of this wedge makes it easy to hit. The ball seems to stop as soon as it hits the green, and from about 85 yards to 50 yards, it is easy to stop the ball within 2 putt distance. Playing from the bunker, this wedge opens easily and the face is easy to get under the ball and splash it out. I cannot wait to purchase the gap wedge and lob wedge.

Customer Service

Excellent. They were very helpful and will answer any question you can think of.

Another great Titleist product, great feel and greenside control, I find I can spin these wedges even using Molitors. These clubs are avalible in various bounces and lofts and are very reasonably priced considering the many different things you are capable of doing with them.

Customer Service

Titleist hopes to come out with various finishes on their vokey design wedges later in the year.
