It is a very very good club. Although smaller than the 588's, it provides better spin, contact, and trajectory when struck. My first real shot of it was on the course, and I hit a nice high shot that when it hit the green sucked back about 12 feet. I was impressed. Around the green the club is solid... the ball checks nice and I always seem to be able to stop the ball where I want it. After that round I went out on the range with it to hit a couple rocks. I noticed that after every hit that the grooves on the face were left with yellow shards of plastic looking material, I then realised that that was the shell of the range ball stuck in the there! That club tears up the rock solid range balls! I advise any people looking for a good sand wedge to go buy the Cleveland 900 Series. It is well worth it!

Customer Service

Golf Bargains is a great place to deal with. I only had one problem with the servie.. I ordered a 1 - 2 day business day delivery and the club arrived about 6 business days later, but that was UPS's fault.

These were special-order sticks -w- the Rifle Spinner shafts. The performance of these wedges is nothing short of amazing!! Their feel is incomparable, the ball checks on slick greens from tight fairway lies and from the sand. The Low Bounce profile is made-to-order for anyone with a sweeping stroke (small or no divot). It takes a little getting used to, but the results are beyond compare. I can now attack the pin from 100 yds and in.

Additionally, the Gunmetal finish has a terrific look. Framing the shot under any circumstances, and they just look cool in your bag.

The shop said the turnaround would be about 3 weeks, but it was only 1!!

In a word, Wow!! I have been playing purespins,(not a bad club, despite the reviews), but this wedge is the perfect complement to my Mizuno Comp EZ. Awesome soft feel, great versatility, and killer performance. I hit a 90 yard moon shot yesterday to an elevated green, and it backed up 2 feet. The ball kept going up--incredible flight. I've had it for 2 weeks, and went out today and bought the 52 and 56 to round out my set. Love the gunmetal finish. Bottom line--there is no substitute for the feel of forged clubs--these give that and also inspire great confidence on any type of shot--Very easy to open face for lobs, also great for approaches from tightly mowed fairways. I have used it with decent results out of sand too--mainly on "fried egg" lies. My sand play is questionable, but got good results with the 60 and an very aggressive chop. I'll follow up later when I get some time with the 56. I chip with it too, when short-sided. BTW-I went with the low bounce on the 56 and 60, mainly because I use them on fairways a lot. They do tear up balls, but any good wedge combined with a good swing will. My only (minor) gripe is the cost, but they are worth it. Luckily my local shop gave me a really good deal, $100 ea, since I needed all 3. My value rating reflects the $140 msrp. If you have the means buy em.

Model Reviewed: 900 Series 54* Low Bounce RTG

I've played Clevelands for the past 10 years and have every model from the 588 RTG's to the BeNi's and BeCu models. The new forged 900 series is yet another great testimony to the awesome Cleveland line. I bought the 54* low bounce model (RTG) and it is very smooth feeling and the ball bites and spins like no other Cleveland I own. I love this wedge and recommend it to any golfer looking for a better short game. The forged feeling is better than the 588's, which felt good to begin with. Outstanding club. Next club will be the lob wedge (although my Ping Eye2 BeCu is awesome and rare).

I own the RTG 54 & 60 degree 900 wedges, they are great. The feel is very soft when you are chipping out of the fairway or in the ruff around the green. They spin and check up, better than any wedge that I have owned. They weigh more than the 588 series, which I played last year. Cleveland did a very nice job with this club.

I had been using Wilson stainless steel wedges for a few years, and a friend got me interested in the unchromed, RTG Clevelands. I got a great deal on these 2 low-bounce wedges. They are starting to rust after a few weeks, and it helps! I am using the XL2000 extra spin balls, and I can open up the face and make the ball check up nicely (way more spin than my old wedges!). I can't hit them as far as my previous wedges, but the ball flies higher and spins more, so I just have to get used to it. I'm wondering if I should look for a 52* gap wedge too...

I used to have a Vokey. I tried the 900 and was very suprise. The club gives you a very steady distance with good trajectory. I bought a 56 degrees and it is easy to play from the fairway and sand. I would not be suprise to see the club surpass the Vokey on Tour.

I got the gunmetal 54* wedge. The black finish looks great behind the ball. I feel like I know right where the ball is going. It gets good spin and has a sweet soft feel. Some clubs you have to try before you hit them but I think this one will fit anybodys swing.
