After kicking myself too many times for buying clubs without testing them I finally did things right. I tested the 900 series against other wedges for 5 months. If I didn't test wedges I would have gone out and bought a Vokey wedge. The 900 series was the best wedge for distance shots, pitching and chipping. The feel is better than the Titleist Vokey or Cleveland 588 and I have confidence that I made the right choice. The Vokey and Cleveland 588 wedges are great wedges, but I performed better with Cleveland 900 series. The one downside to purchasing a low bounce wedge is that it isn't good out of a bunker - there isn't supposed to be much bounce. I bought a 900 series 56 degree wedge with regular bounce and I now have 2 wedges that perform very well from different lies.

I bought these wedges after a little research as to who makes the best wedges. I had never hit them so this was on word alone. From the very first time out at the practice range I knew that I had made a good decision. I never had anything less than a pitching wedge in my bag so I thought how different could a sand(56) and lob(60) wedge be. Night and day really. The 56 is just beautiful out of the sand. I would say from practice bunkers and on the course I have been successfully out 90-95% of the shots with many close to the cup. Gives me a lot of confidence when I do go in the greenside traps. I also like it a lot for chips and short pitches. The ball doesn''t roll much at all after it hits the green so you can go right at the flag. I haven''t used the 60 much but it is very much like the 56 but with a higher trajectory for those bunker shots close to the lip or shots over trees and such. It rolls even less than the 56 on the green so great for those shots with no green to work with. I still haven''t figured these clubs out as far as the longer approaches go and prefer to use my pitching wedge, but I will work on this. I got the low bounce since i live in a dry climate and I haven''t missed a chip yet because of bounce. If you live in a wetter climate you might not want low bounce.

Model Reviewed: 900 gunmetal 52*

I have been looking for a gap wedge for a about 8 mos. and finally chose the 900 series gun metal 52* standard bounce. For my sand play I have a vokey 256.14(very good club) and it came down to either another vokey and the 900. I have to suggest one of these two and for me, after I hit it--I decided to go Cleveland. Took it to real playing conditions and the 900 excelled. I am so satisfied in fact that am now considering changing from my 962''s to the TA3''s.

WOW! I bought my first Cleveland wedge yesterday and took it to the range. I was missing the 100 yard flagstick by no more than 5 feet left or right, most of them coming right down on the flagstick. I have NEVER hit a wedge this soft and the control is sick. As for spin, not sure about that yet, I''''ll have to wait and see when I take it to the course. I could really care less if they get excessive spin, I do know that I can''''t miss with this thing. I''''m going to finish the wedge set and get all of them. They are really that good.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland 900 FF GunMetal 52, 56, and 60 w/ low bounce

I had previously been playing the Snake Eyes Black Chrome Wedges and I knew I needed to switch over to real wedges very soon. The Cleveland 900''s are the best in my opinion. I hit a lot of wedges off of the hard deck and the ability to choose models with low bounce makes it very conveniant. I chose the gunmetal because I didn''t want the glare you get with chrome and the excessive rust with RTG, + I like the way the gunmetals look. The only other wedge I considered was the Titleist Vokey 200 series, but I did not like the way the grooves were. After a few rounds the grooves seemed as if they were coming together and they do not come in low bounce.

I purchased the 56* and 60* wedges. The two wedges have low bounce, but Cleveland''s low bounce is not as low as the low bounce in the Titleist Vokey design wedges. The feel is crisp, yet soft; therefore superior. The spin rate is very good as well. The trailing beveled edge gives this wedge a very classic and sharp look. These wedges ooze playability and shot creating for all golfers.

If you do not have this or any cleveland wedge it''s probably the reason that you are looking to buy. I have a 53 and 60 and I love them. I never thought I would be as good as I am with a lob wedge but I am.A anything 90 yds. and in I''m attacking the pin. They are easy to hit and have an incredible feel. My up and downs to save par a becoming part of my game and it feels soo good. I''ve tried others but clevelands are the BEST!!! Thanks and have a good one.
