My old Anser 5KS (ss) was bent in frustration, which paled in comparision to the frustration of trying to find a used Anser. I recently broke down and purchased a new one and I am in heaven. There is a feel again to putting, something these insert putters (Odyssey) cannot offer.

the stainless steel anser 5 is, in my opinion, one of the great classic putters around

it is face balanced and, because of the offset, quite easy to line up. I am not sure why Ping is not making these types of putters more widely available as they are reasonably priced and very consistent

I think that insert type putters are totally overhyped and overpriced and do not provide any tangible advantage over a well made, single material putter. I guess thats what marketing departments get paid the big bucks for..............

Tried out a slew of putters before deciding on the Ally.

I liked the sights (one on the top edge, two along the back), and it had a nice solid weight.

Very underrated and ignored, but feels great to me.
I didn't like the idea of inserts (seems "gimmicky", and they may not last), this putter looks like a classic.

What can I say. It cost me $69 and it putts great. The ball goes in the hole more often then not. Anser 4 is a little more heel weighted than the average putter. Greg Norman used to play with one of these when he was in his prime. I have no desire to buy another putter.

Customer Service

The are very reliable. They sent me a divot tool and a towel after I sent back a putter I had broken. (bent the shaft in anger)

I've never been much of a Ping guy but have converted to their putters exclusively, esp the copper series. Bought a B60 at a golf consignment store and am very happy. Maybe not as forgiving as the Anser series but looks cool and is more center shafted than my current Anser4. Copper is heavier and offers much better feel than bronze, more solid with less distracting vibration. Why Ping has decided to stop making the copper series is beyond me. The Anser2 in copper fetches upwards of $200 smackers on the auction sites. Anyways, try Ping putters, they are the classics that everyone else copies.

Last week I purchased a new Ping B60 stainless steel putter. All I can say is WOW! I am extremely pleased with the feel and weighting of the putter. Ive been using a scotty w/ the Terrilyium insert for the last 2 years. I decided that I wanted to get another putter to use as a back up that could withstand all weather conditions without rusting. I chose a Ping stainless B60 based on the aesthetics alone, knowing that it could withstand anything. Well, needless to say, Ive found a new putter and the Scotty is going on Ebay. The ball comes off the face very smoothly and softly with a true roll. I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same, and these Ping putters are bonafied winners.

This putter looks great, feels great, and give me good distance control. Very happy with the Palm-lock grip too. Very confident with this putter,so it improved my game. This one will be in my bag for a long long time. Previous Teardrop was a bit too heavy and I didn't like the rolled face at all, just another gimmick...

I realize how stupid my old review was. After trying other putters I returned to the anser 2. This is a great putter after I had it cut down to 34 inches and put a pingman grip. Sweet putter. I still have the Cameron, but lookin to get rid of it.
