Odyssey White Hot #4
Played in my works Championship match this week (held over from last yr,, winter in Canada can do that) and won 5-4. There is no doubt this putter saved me at least 3-4 strokes. I have difficulty with those 6 ft putts but this putter has the ball roll very true and in the hole. If only it could also read the green for me! The putter has a good solid feel in your hands when standing over long putts also. I was able to sink a couple long putts and lag a few up to "gimmie" range. It just took me about 20 mins on the practice green to get the range in as I hit the first bunch short. After that I WANTED to putt. Not normal for me. :) Similar Products Used: None |

Excellent putter with a great feel and touch. This putter had a soft feel without feeling mushy. It feels better than any other putter out there as well as looks good. I am a little worried about the white face. It has really helped my confidence with my putts and that is the most important thing! Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Nubbins |

THIS MALLET TYPE PUTTER IS A GREAT FEELING PUTTER "BUT" IF YOU HIT THE BALL SLIGHTLY LOW OR HIGH IT HAS ABSOLUTELY "NO" FORGIVENESS. IT IS PERFECT AS LONG AS YOU ARE PERFECT, AND IF I WAS I WOULDN'T NEED A $130 PUTTER. Similar Products Used: None |

white hot #1
BOO Yeah Grandma! I used to be a horrible putter but since my recent purchase of the white hot i have had my three best putting rounds ever. In two of the rounds i made a 40+ footer. This putter gives you the confidence to drain more putts. Confidence is the most important thing when you are putting, and the white hot's great feel and great looks combine for great results. And the price may seem high but some of the pro's at my local golf shop were comparing it with a cameron. Just try a few puts with it and i'm sure one of the white hot's 5 models will work for you. I would to be happy about this putter. It makes every putt I ever think about. The ball and putter go very much on line when putting. To get this putter is cheap and try go to play and you will putt very good. Yess. It is softest putter I ever have. I like this putter more then the ones I have before used. If you want to lower your golfing scores you want this putter; it is the good one. Sorry for mistakes but english is only ok. Bye. |

Great putter. Face is firmer than balata or other inserts. You can put a very tight roll of the ball which will keep it on line right into the hole. No problems with durability yet, but the face does get dirty. Similar Products Used: None |

great putter. I tried every single model in the store and this one turned out best. The white hot face has unmatched control for everything, especially distance. Within one hour of buying this, my putting improved 80%. Also, only $110. Similar Products Used: None |

At first sight I thought this was a beautiful putter. I bought it and took it home and entered it into the putting competition I hold with all new putter contenders. Various putts have to be made from varied distances and so on and so forth. First putts with this putter were ugly and it lost its charm. I tried some of my other putters and they were ok. I kept looking at the White Hot and decided to try it again. Bingo. Once you get the feel for the storke this putter wants bamm! They are dropping from everywhere. The insert is wonderfully soft yet it gives you a great indication of how you struck the putt. This putter also likes to be de-lofted a little bit at address. No problem. I normally putt 3 balls to the hole at a time. When this putter got going I was sinking two of the three from just about any distance under 20 feet. If you do this drill too you will know that those are tremendous results. I can honestly say this is the nicest putter I have ever used. I have previously been playing a Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport Two. It is a fine putter but if your stroke goes away just a little bit you feel like an idiot putting bad with such an expensive work of art. That doesn't take anything away from the White Hot it is just as well crafted just a little easier on the wallet. The roll on this putter is true, it's also surprisingly quick off the face. This is really a great putter. Just remember when you putt always make sure you see the putterhead strike the ball, NO CHEATING looking up to see the hole, that will ruin a putt everytime. Go out and buy one of these you will not be sorry. |

White Hot #5
To be honest, I have never really had much success with Odyssey putters, despite trying most of the models both in the pro shop and on the golf course, so I guess I was a little prejudiced when it came to trying this putter. Despite those nagging little thoughts that this would be no different, I still picked up a few White Hot models and took a few strokes. Upon the first contact with the ball, all of those nagging little thoughts were blown away and replaced by pure contentment. The putter had a wonderfully soft feel [when struck well], but not so soft that the ball felt like a marshmallow. There was no recognizable loss of distance with this putter, although most likely because I was using a semi-mallet rather than a blade. I was first enticed by the sleek looks of these putters. The satiny finish with the resounding white insert was a pleasure to behold, and aesthetics are always important with putter choice. I originally tried the #1, which is another Anser clone, however I found it slightly cumbersome and difficult to align, although it can't be disregarded as everyone has a different style of putting. The #5, however, has an excellent alignment system as the edges of an indented section in the centre of it [when looking top down] makes two other alignment lines apart from the solid black one in the middle. It is also of a solid, comfortable weight, and it is not awkward to use as it is not overly heavy. The feel as I have said is excellent, soft yet responsive, and the putter is beautiful to behold because of the smooth clean lines and the pure insert. The weighting system is excellent too, as the head stays on line relatively easily. ON THE COURSE: Normally there is a much different situation when one gets on the course with a putter than when in a shop. Those testy little four footers are still as dangerous as ever, and those distance shots are still somewhat pot luck. I played about 8 rounds with this putter, and the first was a little tournament with a few friends. After a few "oohs" and "aahs" when I took it out, it seemed to really keep those little putting demons at bay. The putter delivered pleasing performance consistently, and felt solid enough to get those four footers to the back of the hole, but also to get longer putts within striking distance. Normally mallets also are a little more difficult to use on breaky greens, however this is not in my eyes a full thick semi-circular hunk of metal, but rather a light version of a regular mallet [like the Dual Force 330 mallet], and so I found the undulations no harder to conquer. Here are some important points for consideration: 1) The putter appears to be intended for beginning to intermediate players. It has easy alignment and a clean feel, however an expert should spend a few more bucks and get a Scotty Cameron to really suit and accentuate and his or her skills. 2) $135 is far too pricey an estimate. You can find this putter for $109.99 almost anywhere. Try Edwin Watts or Dicks sporting goods. 3) Do not settle for a damaged or scratched model which has had prior store display use. Half of putting is subliminal, and if you are not really happy with the putter your putting will flounder. 4) Try all the models. See what suits your stroke and go with it. Also try the putter out on a course. 5) Remember, no putter is going to drop 10 or 15 strokes off your round. Everyone putts well the first time with a new putter, but one incredible round does not mean your handicap will stay that way. Many people say that the putter dropped 5 or 10 strokes off their game, and this is probably true to a lesser extent. A perfected stroke can get lower scores, and a putter can help you by working with your stroke and letting you put faith in it, but it is you making the shot, not the putter. I'm sorry to over emphasize, but I've seen it all too often where people think a putter will shave strokes off their game and they are sorely disappointed after blowing a hundred or more dollars. It may be a beautiful and wonderful thing to own, and it can impress friends, but it won't perfect your game. Another observation from this point is that a putter should not really be judged according to price. Its value is in its craftsmanship, its aesthetics, and its value in working with a player's stroke, so if the putter that you really feel confident with costs a couple hundred, save up and don't settle for less. 6) [and the final point]: This putter most closely resembles the Odyssey Rossie 2 and the Ping Darby. Compare and contrast both in the store and on the green if you can. See which is easiest to align, which has the best distance control and which pleases you in feel and aesthetics. A putter which will benefit you will possess the best possible characteristics in all of these fields. Take a lot of time for comparison if you don't want to waste money, and think about your purchase rather than acting impulsively. Be overly critical to eliminate choices that shouldn't be there.
